Josh: that 38 is incredible! I love that pattern and the smooth bone goes so well with it.
GuestWho: what a pair! The handle scales are both stunning!

Carrying my Sodbuster today, made a bead for it yesterday...

Looking forward to the Christmas Combo, Dean! Thanks for the muskrat compliment; I guess two can play at the "Make Up Knife Acronym Meanings" game! :D:thumbup:

Overwhelming, Dean!!

Alox of the week is a Pioneer Pruner (thanks, Ken):

Thank you, Gary! That Pruner is gorgeous (and useful).

You can't go wrong with that beauty, Josh!

Those are a couple of deep, dark red knives, Dee!:thumbup: Are you preparing for Christmas colors on Christmas?

Carrying these two today (archive photos as the lighting is bad now).

I'm feeling sentimental today.
My Case Medium Stockman that wife got me for Christmas a few years ago was sort of my gateway back into traditional knives. It's a simple, common pattern. Not high value and certainly not pristine. It's ridden many a day in my pocket and earned that patina through use and a bit of sweat etching at work. It's a very handy little tool and will always be special to me.

The other one is a Winchester toothpick that my dad picked up for me around 1999 or 2000-ish. I remember it was around then because I "lost" that knife for a couple of years on the back floorboards of my future wife's car. We used to go camping and take her little Celica because it got good mileage and had more room for our stuff compared to my Camaro. At some point I must have lost it back there. We finally found it when her parents handed down their old Audi, and we had to clean out the car to sell it.
The toothpick was pretty spotty when I found it. It must have gotten a bit wet, but it cleaned up pretty well. It used to say "1 of 1000" etched on the blade, and you can still make it out. I'm not sure who made it for Winchester. I think I read that Queen made the first run? At any rate. Its a well made little knife. I carry it from time to time when I'm thinking about my dad...who forgot he got it for me, so I guess it wasnt really a sentimental gift on his end:p

Im goin to try one of those one day.
Do it! they are great knives for the money. If you get a Mini Peasant drop me a line and I hook you up with some scales for it.

Back with the peasants eh?! ;) I really like the way you've modded that one :)

Back with 'em?? I never left. :D Thanks Jack, I need a bit....well, a lot more practice on my jigging skills.

Had a nice day off just sitting around the house with a good book and a cool knife.

I started the day with a Camillus Buck 303 but by lunch I was ready to run home and swap it out for a modern Buck version, it cuts better, holds a better edge and is more pocket friendly. The only thing that old cami does better is look good.

I didn't have anything planned, but that sounds like fun. :)

If your archive photos exude as much quality as those of today's, then by all means post away . Recycling is good ;).

A favourite of mine which I don't see a lot of on knife forums. GEC 99 Wall Street Spear with Burnt Stag sides.

Thank you Paul. Much appreciated. It's one of the few non GECs that I have. But it's a good one!

Pony Jack in Ebony. I like how the joints are almost sunken on this pattern. Very pocketable.
