What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thanks, Dee; given your inherent wisdom, I knew you'd catch my little pun there! :p
About the chili: my wife and I spent Christmas Eve with a nephew, his wife, their 2 little kids, and the wife's parents. They had all been ill earlier in the week. This week, between Christmas and New Year's Day, my wife and I seem to have developed whatever the young family had earlier. So no 5-gallon bucket of chili yet! :(

Here are the knives I bought for my wife to give me for Christmas. Perhaps it's not surprising that it turned out to be a Christmas canoe convocation! :o
Marbles stag bone canoe with "damascus etched" blades:

Straight from the pages of the "Ugliest Traditional" thread, with some good advice for the New Year etched on the pen blade, comes this Rough Rider Zombie Nick canoe:

A Marbles ram's horn canoe; I love the crater in the pile side cover:

A Buck 389 canoe with the relatively-new (and somewhat disappointing dye-wise) honey bone covers:

And a red bone Robert Klaas small canoe:

That's quite the chain of events. That chili should do you & the misses good when you get a chance to make it.

Way to sail in the New Year with those Canoes.

Nice, Dee! How old and what school?

First day of 2017, I'm carrying the 2015 Forum Knife.

Thanks, Dean!

PM sent. :)

Great way to incorporate a blast from the past with the New Year.

Those are AMAZING!!

Thank you, Clay!

I sure missed y'all yesterday (I did post in the Lounge). Happy New Year everyone

I carried my Davison as my First of the Year knife :)

Thanks, Jack. Isn't there a Psalm in the Bible about knives that go down to the sea in ships? ;)

LOL! Definitely GT! :D

I really enjoyed seeing your birthday and Christmas knives, some great choices there. I think you've inspired me to pocket my neglected Douk-Douk :)

Last in 2016 and first in 2017

Smashing gents

Cool pic Scott

Happy New Year, people of the Porch! My resolution is to buy more knives in 2017 than I did in 2016. :D

I had the Winchester stockman with me yesterday and I think I will tote her around again today.

LOL! :D Hope you find a few as nice as that Winchester my friend

Very nice Paul

Starting the year off with humble simplicity.

Looking good

Great lines on that stunning piece

That ivory Davison is gorgeous, definitely drool worthy.

+1

GT has inspired me to carry my Douk-Douk today, paired with the Lambsfoot Duncan recently gifted me :)

I had the feeling something might happen today, so I went to the letterbox and at exactSAT (Standard Aperitif Time #11.30am) a smiling Postman handled me a small parcel from Finland. What a surprise, a 2010 BF Queen, many thanks Will! What a fantastic way to start a new year! :D
The postcard title is "à la recherche du temps perdu", but I guess it could as well be Santa's home!

Some nice pictures today!

I'm drinking coffee in the temp kitchen about to eat breakfast..... I'm in my PJs so, I'm only carrying one knife, the yeller nut.

Jake, I still drool over that R Bose cattle knife of yours

How's the rebuild coming, Gus? I haven't forgotten about lunch. Things just been busy helping the parents get back in their house and finishing up mine.

Tried to upload a pic but internet is funky today. Just me and my case/Bose cattle knife chilling at the workplace today.

Well done all!

Thanks for the comment Will.

Great Lambsfoot Jack. Very nice Whittlers pistonandgears and Chip. You have both inspired me.

I went small today. A Northwoods Norfolk Whittler and a Vic Beginner.

Have a good one!

Slow..... Sent back proof of loss a couple of weeks ago. Wife and I are mudding the back of the house now.

I did take off to hunt this last week though.
