Harry
Love the look of the bone on that Schrade Harry

I had one of those Schrade Barlow's with the stamped bolsters but in the Scrimmed white delrin. IIRC it had an Eagle scrimmed onto the white delrin, gave it to a friend because I wasn't into the Batlow pattern back then. In fact the only one I had ever really liked back then was the Boker One Armed Razor Barlow I had gotten from the Teamster's Union as an incentive to come to the Union meetings. They were always givin' stuff at the door after you signed in because it was the only way to get the members to show up  . In hindsight, wish I woulda kept the Schrade but I gave it to a friend so that always makes me feel better :).

I don't have a Zorro Barlow LOL but I do have a Remington Barlow made by the same company, it came with a brick of .22s I had bought :)

I think Alox has done almost as much for Victorinox as the Classic did as far as makin' Victorinox a popular choice for first time buyers.

Same with the Chestnut bone , Case is using these days Gary. Almost any pattern they put it on becomes an instant success but the resurgence of interest in Sodbusters is phenomenal. It's taken a workhorse pattern from the pocket of the farmboy/workin' class people to a gentleman's knife that's equally comfortable in an office or a garage setting. :)

As for what am I totin' today?

I pulled out the very first Queen Winterbottom Bone covered knife I own. It was a early 70s Serpentine Jack I bought in a yard sale 25 years ago and started one of the only real collections I consciously tried to build and actively look for when ever I'm lookin'. I don't have any real Winterbottom Bone except for the the Queen carvin' knives but the odds are in my favor when you consider they (the scale materials) were produced in Jersey and I'm right across the river. I've seen quite a few in my years and hope to someday have as complete a collection as possible, (gotta start somewhere :) )

The Collection to date :)

Thanks for the confirmation on the chestnut bone, Barrett, and thanks for the Zorro accolades. :) I can't believe how many comments that $5 novelty knife draws when I post it!
Attractive photo of your Imperial Barlow. How old is that knife? Pinned covers, right? Not the style of Imperial Barlow I'm used to seeing!

I enjoyed your random rumination, Ted! Notable set of Winterbottoms; hope they don't spiral out of control!;)

My Big Knife of the Week is a Rough Rider trapper:

My Euro Knife of the Week is an Opinel #7 that usually stays in the kitchen, but gets to tag along with me a couple of weeks out of every year. Here's a pic from its youth:

Gary, although it tapers off at the heel, those Rough Riders look to have a nice even grind right from the factory. More than can be said about some higher end knives. They also seem to have a decent process of dying their bone.

Attractive photo of your Imperial Barlow. How old is that knife? Pinned covers, right? Not the style of Imperial Barlow I'm used to seeing!

To be honest, I have no idea how old the Imperial is, and although it does appear that the covers are held on with pins, the pins don't go through the liners (no sign of them when you look inside the knife). The covers themselves are the hollow plastic sort. (There used to be some sort of advertising or company name in white on there, but there's not much of it left.) I bought the knife for a couple bucks at a flea market.

Beautiful.

Every day you seem to have more marbles. I fear I'm losing mine. ;)

Thank you kindly, Greg! I was contemplating the photo and felt I should have removed two or three marbles ;)

each time we breath in...we breath in the colossal power of the universe
each time we breath out ....we let go of fear
each time we breath in... we realize ...an incredible power emerges from deep within

just came to mind...maybe some positively enriching marbles you offered me

My newly reground fightin rooster and me in the shop today.

Apparently a 5.0 at 11:1 compression and 13 psi don't like a plug gap of .40. Glad they on top the motor!
