What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

REDO2_zpszkmie5ww.jpg

Gorgeous Northwoods Scagel, Dee!

I'm two days into a nasty norovirus attack, so can't get out, or even eat, but I do have a nice Barlow in my pocket

I hope you get better soon, Jack! That is one of the better TC renditions there.

Very nice, actually classy. :thumbup::thumbup:

Today's tote.

Thanks a lot Dean, that is very kind of you. That was my first TC, and has a special place in my Barlow heart! ;) :)

I think I'm in love with what BigBiscuit posted.
I have a toothpick by Imperial sorta sized like what Jrawk posted. But it's too big for pocket carry. I can only presume that is too.

@Jack Black - Hope you are better soon my friend! I don't know what name it goes by but I have been battling a stomach virus for a week! :(

Today is "old yeller day". The only thing better than a smooth yellow delrin Case knife in your pocket is two. These things just take me back IMO to a much simpler and better time in life.

j3T3nMb.jpg

Randy - There is just something about that Yeller Delrin that will definitely put some sunshine in your day!:D

Bob - Nice!! :thumbup::D

Today much like Jack, I am home with a virus. I have an Ebony TC in my pocket, well it has also spent a lot of time in my hands! CFing and CEing is great therapy! ;):D

Thanks Ron. I always like seeing your Ebony TC. CF and CE is very therapudic. Feel better soon my friend.

Thank you very much Ron, I am sorry to hear you're ill, and that it has dragged on so long. Hope you're feeling better soon my friend :) Lovely Barlow

Great pic

...Thanks for the compliments my friend, I like your European workhorses
Thanks, Jack; I'm sure the feeling is mutual! :D

Thanks GT! Yes those were both TL-29s. And they are my first two slip joint mods. I'm really liking the tl29 frame. I've got a lot of ideas in the works for future mods. Stay tuned!
...
Very magical mods for your first ones!!:thumbup: I'll definitely stay tuned, birdvis!

...
These two today.

Have a great evening!
Ken K.
Magisterial Black/White pairing, Ken!

...
My old Primble accompanying a custom from forum maker Shaerk today.

Magnificent pair, as usual, Tom! The Primble scout is the one that speaks to my non-fixed-blade soul, of course. ;)

Just a slenderino with polished edges.

wvnxc6.jpg
Meritorious Uncle Henry, Paul! I happen to be carrying one just like it this week (without the polished edges, though).

With Spring in the air I think all of those can be garden knives GT, nice group!

Dunlap Zulu and Old timer past few days.

Thanks, Steve. That Old Timer scout is mesmerizing! I don't think I even realized such a knife existed!

WONDERFUL carries everyone:thumbup:

The #92 Eureka Jack has to be one of the classiest frames out there, I like all variations. Here's a rendezvous micarta version.

MOJhqT.jpg
Majestic micarta #92, Paul! A lot of Forumites seem to really enjoy their Eureka jacks, and I can see why.

IMHO, those little blue Case wharncliffe copperheads with the red shield are small, but major-league all the way!

This old guy keeps tagging along.

Not mint, but definitely marvelous, r8shell! Good wood for Wednesday.

Memorable knife and photo, Dee! I guess everything's coming up daisies for you? ;) (I hope you're not suggesting that some of us will be pushing up daisies soon!)

Alox Farmer & Fenix E05. Very useful.

Couple of matchless tools, coop1957!

It's a rainy TC Tuesday for me. I got this beautiful Walnut Real Sheepfoot off the exchange from my friend Primble! This is his photo, so I hope you don't mind buddy. At least until I can take some of my own. :D

Congrats on the new TC Barlow, Ron! I'm sure that for both you and Primble, that TC is a fine example of Tennessee Commerce! ;)

My gec with 2 tone wood.
...
Mind-boggling example for Wooden Wed! What model is that? Did it come from the factory that way, Matt? Did you engrave the bolster?

Carrying my newly-brown Speaker Jack today.

Pretty miraculous transformation, Barrett! Noteworthy dye job.

Went out tonight, changed to these

Your chestnut SBJr still looks monumental, Paul! (Of course, I'm biased since I've carried an identical one every day since I won it in a BigBiscuit GAW in Jan. 2015.)

I'm two days into a nasty norovirus attack, so can't get out, or even eat, but I do have a nice Barlow in my pocket

Hope you shake the norovirus soon, Jack. Some schools around here have shut down for a couple of days because of norovirus epidemics, and they do massive disinfects of all the desks, lockers, etc. while the kids are gone! That TC Barlow sets off the "music of the spheres"! (Although the black handles, TC initials, and body of water in the background also had me thinking "The Creature from the Black Lagoon"!:D)

Boker Tree Brand Classic
...
Another notable classic, Joe.

Kool Keen Kutter, r8shell! Good to hear that you're getting over your bout with the flu.

...
For me today.

Nifty Opinel, Paul; I'm beginning to think we have very similar tastes. I don't have a sleeveboard pen knife like that GEC, but I sure like it! What model is that?

Noble old Barlow, Tom!! Some day I hope to track down a venerable Barlow similar to that (after I retire and can devote myself to the hunt :D).

Today is "old yeller day". The only thing better than a smooth yellow delrin Case knife in your pocket is two. These things just take me back IMO to a much simpler and better time in life.

Mellow Yellow! Nostalgic pair for sure, Randy.

Wooden Wednesday : Hibbard , Spencer , Bartlett & Co and a Robeson Electrician's Knife
...

GT : !!!!! I could not find that Catalogue again that had the Old Russells in it , but I had a note that leads me to believe that it was from 1901 .
That one you picked out could be a Grail Knife for me .

Harry
Worthy wood for Wednesday, Harry!
Thanks for the catalog info; I can see why the curved Russell Barlow would be a Grail Knife!

Nice, John! What kind of covers are those?

...
Today's tote.

Splendid choices, Dean! I don't remember seeing a Red Cadet from you before; is that new, or is my memory just old??

Thanks, Gary! I've had the Red Cadet for awhile; I think this is the first time I've shown it. I'll be carrying and showing more Vics in future.

By the way, I thought of you yesterday. On the way back from a doctor's office, I saw an antique store I hadn't visited. One of the items inside was an old Army ammunition belt with pouches for ammunition magazines. There were about 10 pouches on the belt and I thought, "That would be just about right for GT's daily carry!" It might not match your work clothes though.:D

Today I took out the Precise Deerslayer Classic, a Japanese version of the Sodbuster with a Lockback.

Ooh! I quite like the look of that one. Not entirely sure about the word deerslayer on the blade, but that can be fixed.

Jack; you are one of my heroes. Down with noro-virus and still posting on BF? Hope you're feeling better as soon as possible my friend. Just getting caught back up on these threads.

Take it easy.

Thanks my friend, I think I may have jinxed myself by remarking last week that I had been lucky to escape it so far. It seems to be very common here these days. My girlfiend is a college lecturer - and a germ magnet! :(

That's a great pic :) Safe travels

Drink apple cider vinegar (diluted). And eat raw garlic, that ought to take care of your girlfriend troubles.

...
Is it 4" closed model like this one? I pocket carry this with no problem (although it's usually in a little pocket slip I made from a piece of baseball glove webbing).

Hope you feel better soon and can start enjoying food again, Ron. That spearpoint ebony TC looks like it could definitely have effective medicinal powers! ;)

That's a special one, Bryce! "You may talk about your Clementine or sing of Rosalie ..."

Looking forward to seeing some of your Vics, Dean!
Thanks for the info about the Army equipment; I've actually looked at some of that stuff at gun & knife shows. :o I don't worry too much about whether it would match my clothes. I often tell my students, my wife, my daughter that when it comes to drugs and fashion, I just say NO (remember Nancy Reagan's campaign?) :D But I've decided that I've got a pretty good system for handling my weekly dozen in my pants pockets. As long as I have pants with at least 5 pockets (counting a watch pocket), I'm OK. It's the days I wear Dockers with only 4 pockets that things start getting crowded.

Drink apple cider vinegar (diluted). And eat raw garlic, that ought to take care of your girlfriend troubles.
:D:D Are you a medical doctor, scrteened porch? That seems like advice that would be hard to refute! :D And thanks to your earlier pic that included a blooming crocus, I noticed that I've got a thick purple patch of crocuses that will bloom on the next sunny day!

In rushing to post between some work projects earlier today, I forgot to include photos of some of my knives for this week. I'll rectify that now! :o
Stockman of the Week is an 897UH (thanks, Dean):

Alox of the Week is a Pioneer Pruner (thanks, Ken):

Watchpocket Knife of the Week is an Imperial Diamond Edge that will NOT outgas on me (thanks, Mark):

GT :::!!!!!! Really like to see those RAMSHORN COVERS on your Canoe .

Harry
Thanks, Harry. :) But don't be fooled like I was initially: the covers are ram's horn BONE! I think it's done very well, but if you look closely, you can see it's bovine bone dyed and jigged to simulate ram's horn. (Or if I'd paid attention to what the ads (and the blade etch) actually state - "ram's horn bone" - I wouldn't have been so surprised. :o

I do have a Marbles canoe with genuine ram's horn covers, though:
