I am not really Totin this one today. Well it has spent some time in my pocket on my trips to the kitchen and some of the other important rooms in the house! ... After all there is three of the SEC's finest playing some B'Ball on TV today! ...
Vibrant red on that one, Ron! I hope you enjoyed the games, even if you may not have seen all the results you hoped for.
...
Thanks, Gary. The Ulster Scout is their model 1503 which is the smaller one, as such it is definitely more pocketable. It and my Case Junior Scout are just the size I like in a scout knife.
I think your Yankee Barlow is the best looking of all the versions and cover styles. ...
Today I'm carrying my favorite TC Barlow. It is carried often because it can be pinched open, has an easy pull and it's a spearpoint. It's also blood red.

GT christened it "True Crimson." Photographed with the pocket slip that is it's home more often than not.
Always a treat to see that red TC Barlow (and the lavish pocket slip)! Thanks for the info about the Ulster Scout, Dean; your affinity for the smaller scout models has me on the lookout for one. Thanks for the compliment on my 77 Barlow!
Thanks for the compliment, I had to look that one up! I am glad I was able to find them still. Always like seeing your Chestnut CV sodbuster jr. and peanut.
...
Thanks, Jeff. I currently have 4 of the chestnut bone Cases (SB stockman, SBJ, SBJr, and peanut) and really enjoy them.
GT Thanks,... I'm not successful, I just suspect a whole load of luck has to do with most things. Don't believe in fate, all is random... Is there a mathematical equation for luck?... I have Med Stockman, Small Gunstock, Whittler, Coffin Jack and the Swell Centre Pen. No duds, these are brilliant knives.
Ron Thank you too. Don't worry, I'm not after the whole set.... Only want two others now. Well, back up could be good too
...
Regards, Will
Thanks for the update on your "family" of Black Box Winchesters, Will. Very nice; which two models are you still after? There are equations that will tell us how likely certain outcomes are in certain situations (for example, the probability of making at least 8 of 10 free throws if you're a 70% free throw shooter), so that could indirectly indicate how lucky someone is (if a "desirable" outcome with low probability happens to you, I suppose you're "lucky").
... Thanks for the kind words on my Anchor Knife my friend, it's seen a lot of use this weekend, cutting wood, rope, cardboard, etc. The edge has held up great

Nice line-up there
...
Thanks, Jack. Good to hear that your new maritime knife is performing up to expectations!
...
Nice knives, GT, but I can't say the same about that shirt.
Thanks, Barrett. I thought an Arizona resident might have a little love for the Cubs since they're down there for spring training. Cool pic of your new 48(?), and I admire the loyalty that's evident in that old cap. Does cap and knife together indicate a name change to the St. Louis Weasels?
...
GT I do like that Remington Barlow you're sporting. Can you tell me what year it's from?
I think the mid-point release on a lockback is superior to having it further back. A simple slide of the thumb back an inch to reach the release as the other hand folds the blade.
Thanks for your feedback on lockbar placement, Tom; I totally agree with your assessment. That Remington Big Daddy Barlow is a 2009 release, I think.
...
Will walk my dogs later today so this one seems appropriate.
...
Man, that pile side jigging is impressive, Paul!
...
Pairing these two again today, my anonymous Anchor Knife and Carl Schlieper ... Have a good week everyone ...
I'm enjoying your cheerfully sunny photos of those two German (?) knives, Jack!
This one today
...

...
Harry
Wow, Harry, your BBS TEW jack looks fantastic!! I don't think I'd seen it with blades open before; it's practically new!
Oh, my!! Phenomenal red canoe, Travman!
Intriguing photo, Gev! Wonderful vintage Barlow! I see the 1892 coin; is the Barlow also that ancient??
...
A little better pics of the 85P
...
Cool 85, Joe!

Has it lost a cover pin?
...
That is cool. I'm amazed how y'all find these antique knives. I'm working on my patience and knowledge of how, but I'm afraid of getting a fake or something misrepresented.
...
I've taken, GT's approach to weekly carry...or 'so I think.' I'm rotating 3 knives for a week or more.
...
I know exactly what you mean about looking for aged knives, HST; I have a LOT more to learn before I'm confident about aggressively pursuing old knives, especially online. I hope you're enjoying your new weekly carry approach.
...
I'm carrying this gorgeous olive green Farmer I received from GT today. What a wonderful gift from a great friend. He also gave me a Petoskey stone (something I saw all the time as a kid, but never kept one).
Thank you Gary. This one will be frequently carried.:thumbup:
You're welcome; glad you like them, Dean! (Why do knives I've had always look better when someone else takes the pictures??

)
Yes indeed it is an intriguing knife!
As for the mark stamped on the blade is a lighthouse house.
The mouth of the whale is even cut, however the knife has a spring that is not visible in the photo.
Thanks for the additional info about your Farol "whale", Pt-Luso.
Splendid Barlow and knit slip, Dee! Lots of other mysterious (to me) stuff in the photo. Is that a pocket-sized perpetual motion device??
Thank you, Gary!
Could you believe they didn't even have to be weaned off milk?

They much prefer fruits & veggies.
MARCH has been MADNESS, but your WILDCARDS are definitely winners....
That's a kind thing to say to a guy whose March Madness prognostications were effectively blown to smithereens after the first weekend!
That Gary is quite the chum isn't he?
He has great tastes in knives & naming them.
And of course you brought them to life with your photography, Dean.
...
Hey! Who are you calling a chump?!?

Thanks for the pics up Boney Mountain. It's been a wet winter in So Cal and the hills are quite green. (Well green for LA says the ex-Angelino)
+ 5K!! Great photos of your hike, Aias!
...
I have these two with me today

Delightful daily duo, Jack!
Today with a fixed blade from Finland.
Very nice knife and sheath, Pt-Luso!
Here are some of my knives for this week.
Euro knife of the week is a JJ Martinez ciervo navaja de campaña:
Stockman of the week is a Case sowbelly (thanks, Ron), and, as always, I'm carrying a SBJr I won in a BigBiscuit GAW:
