What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Lately I've been between an old "original bowie" from sabre Japan I redid and one of my great uncles Queen Steel hunting knives from way back in the day

Going to be spending some time showing one of our forum friends around Sheffield (and York) over the next few days, and am probably not going to get a chance to post much. Got a whirlwind tour of Sheffield's old cutlery factories ahead! Not quite sure what I'll be taking with me yet, my bag weighs a ton as it's full of books and tourist guides  I'll certainly be carrying these two though, my Arthur Wright Lambsfoot in buffalo, and my Stan Shaw Sheepsfoot in sambar. Hope everyone has a good week, and if I don't get a chance to post before, a great weekend

Sounds like a great time will be had! I have to say, I'm a little envious! Have fun, and love the knives!

Ha! It was at Outback Steakhouse. She's into knives too.

So pleased to be back in the USA. Have this 1979 6318HE in my pocket today. Relatively new to me. I am quite fond of it.

Love that Forest Jack... really wish they would make another run of these (are you reading this Derrick???)

Yep, nice knife indeed. I wouldnt mind a new run :) would love to have one in stag :)

And thank you, Dee! It is always good to see that TC Barlow.

Great-looking Barlows gents :)

Thanks, Jack!

Knife content: I don't know if stag is kosher, but I pulled the Forum Stag Jack out of the box for the seder last night (pic from last year). This is a knife that just gets better with age and wear. I think it's going to stay in my pocket all week.

Great photo of one of the better Forum Knives, Rachel!

Today was TC Tuesday for me :D

Today's carry: Musliln Whip, Alox Cadet and (for Wooden Wednesday) an Ebony TC Barlow.

Nice knives and pics, folks! Charlie Mike, that's quite a steak knife you got there!

Handy little Menefee Half Congress today.

Binary black classics, Bill!

Good one, GT, and I really like the heavy metal! I've got a big Remmy also, the Master Guide banana trapper jack at 5.32" closed.

Thanks, Jeff. That's a lot of prime spearpoint blade on that monster trapper!

GT, "Walk & Talk", "Fit & Finish". Thanks for today's chuckle!
You're welcome, Tom: I live to serve! :p

As always, thanks Gary. It just proves that I have too many knives. I cut back from five to three. I eliminated the 15 elk because it's too precious to carry. I also eliminated the tortoise shell 83 because it's not kosher and I'm attending a Seder tonight.
Glad you solved your dilemma, Alan. I hope you have a safe and meaningful Passover week.

GT:

Your olive wood Joker... way to go with the "painting with patina" on the blade! Very creative!
Thanks, major_works; you're pretty perceptive to notice that little mustard experiment. ;) Now that I know that it can work, I should probably clean off the blade and see if I can make a better-looking, more legible "logo".

Thanks GT, it's a special place for my family and me. It's by Mount Shasta and it's called lake siskyou. A pic from the map/message board with my now ever present 13

Now that olive wood joker you have is a nice looking carry. I was curious how you carry so many knives at once but I think I found the solution on Google :D

Thanks for the extra info on your family hideaway, Jeff. Thanks for the Joker comment, too. I don't actually have that "carry system" you found, but I think I want one!:D I'd probably wear it under my shirt though, except at the beach!

This is a two TEWs Tuesday kind of day

My 2015 #73 today.

Fantabulous knife, Paul! I'm always enthralled by the looks of those stag 73s from the summer (spring) of 2015!

...
Thanks, Gary! That's a cool childhood story about the Army guys. Your Rough Rider and photo are top notch!
That's a nice older Explorer, Gary!

This one again for me today.

The more I see your crimson spearpoint TC, the better I like it, Dean!
Thanks for the kind words about my lunch photo and my Explorer. :) I got the Explorer at a gun & knife show where I get many of my SAKs. How do you know it's an older one? Is the magnifier a key to estimating age on that model?

My stag 81 today. Watering the garden and muscadines earlier. Now I'm sitting on the porch swing waiting on the kids to get home. The new baby is inside and asleep. The back side is prettier than the front side so that's the side you get. The patina is even better.

I enjoy seeing you enjoying your 81, Joey! Is the family starting to establish some new routines with a new Ethan on the premises?

Are Snyders unhealthy?!  :(

Thanks for the compliments my friend, I'm loving the 'Heavy Metal'! :D
...
Thanks for appreciating the "heavy metal", Jack. :) Regarding Snyders, I'm no nutritionist, but I'm certain my doctor has never recommended that I add them to my diet. ;)

Croisdale Sleeveboard and my Anchor Knife for me today :)

Couple of grand knives on attention-grabbing backgrounds, Jack!

Princely pair, Harry!

GT, I'm not much on whittlers (which is odd as I like stockmans a lot!) but that's a nice one! I'd sport that!

Yes sir. We are figuring him out. He eats. A lot. Mom can make enough so now that we know to supplement a bit, he seems to be doing better. Thank you!

No matter what I try. This blade won't do paper cleanly. By that I mean get more than 4 to 5 inches away from where I'm holding the paper it hitches. And will not cleanly get the cut piece off the rest of the paper.

This blade however does everything I expect of it.

That seems really odd? Do you sharpen them both at the same angle? Is the Spey blade thicker?

I've tried everything. It plucks at my finger. I can not feel a burr.
I run it over the strop. I look at the edge with a loupe.
Even my Ulster Pen knife with a chip in the middle of the main blade will slice paper on either side of the chip like butter.
The primary blade of this knife does fine as well. It is beyond my understanding.
