What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Absolutely stunning!

Thanks Gev :)

Thanks for the TN flag info, Ron. Impressive "rain check" for missing Stag Saturday!

Gary thanks for the compliment:)

Very nice 48 Ron. Very, very nice!! Terrific pair Paul.

Thank you Ken :)

@Primble Nice Catts my friend!

I'm running late tonight. There have been a lot of great knives posted today, it took me a while to catch up! I have been toting a Black Box Winchester stockman today.

Gary, happy to give you some tips. Get your dandelion fork sharpened up.

Day 2 of carrying my CSC English Barlow. Not having carried a 2 blade Barlow in a while I'm reminded of their great utility with stout main and small pen blades, good looks and easy fit in hand and pocket.

Wonderful woodgrain!

Thanks r8shell!

Wow, Greg, that ebony is very distinctive!! How many pieces from A. Wright do you have? I remember, of course, your buffalo lambsfoot that changes with the light conditions. But this gorgeous wood-handled version seems new to me, and the same is true of a superb Ettrick (with a noteworthy edge on the blade) that I saw recently in the Beverages & Blades thread.:thumbsup:

Thanks, GT. You've managed to notice the full extent of my A. Wright collection. I've had both the Ettrick and the ebony lambsfoot for quite a while—the Ettrick accompanied my buffalo horn lambsfoot across the pond—but they don't see as much use as my buffalo horn lambsfoot. I figured they both deserved a bit of time in the sunshine. :)

Yeah, can't be too careful around them ticks. Stay safe! I can't read the tang stamp, but that looks kinda like an LF&C that I have.

That's a nice folder you have there, GE Jr! You know it - an ol' LF&C. Or as I call it, "One of Grandpap's." :)

I'm curious what you have also. It looks like a Robeson 626 I have.

The Robeson 626 certainly looks very similar. I like using the knives I got from my grandpap, it's hard to make a cut without remembering him for a moment.

Sorry, Anthony, but I think most of the school projects are nothing but memories anymore! :( Sounds like you're very fond of your Kephart. I've vowed to stay away from the whole fixed blade side of the knife world, so I can concentrate my energies and resources on traditional pocket knives. (Have to confess that I finally broke down and picked up a little Mora carving knife last month that I intend to use only at home.)

No worries--it all sounded pretty cool, nonetheless.

As for the Kephart, yes, I'm very fond of it. I have a Gunfighter Bowie too (by Lon Humphrey); I generally prefer fixed blades to folders. Laws and social norms being what they are, however, having even a modest fixed blade with me all the time is just not an option--good thing there are fine folders to have and hold! I'm particularly fond of bowies/ clip points... I've posted these pics before, but here are a few (traditional) that I absolutely love:

Lon is making a smaller version of the Gunfighter (in 52100 I believe)--I will certainly be picking up one of those. It will be tough choosing between that and the Kephart for day hikes... but those kinds of tough choices are blessings :D

That Mora may become your gateway drug!

Good-looking knife Alan

Whoa !!! - the porch got painted and remodeled !!!! I can't find nuttin !! LOL :D:D

Have a nice trip Mr. Jack. Lots of nice purty knives today everyone !

That must have been a shock Mr P  Great to see you here my friend, and thanks :)

The background just makes that beauty look better, Jack!

Today's carry for me. Cooler weather means I get to carry more knives!

Thanks a lot Dean, two great choices there :)

Have a wonderful day!!

Thanks a lot Gev, feeling a bit worn out from 4 hours of train travel today - obviously getting old! :D:thumbsup:

That ebony is both unusual and beautiful my friend

Resplendent pair, Jack! Don't let that blackguard Nottingham sheriff confiscate them! :p

Thanks GT, definitely not! :D

Outstanding pair Gary

Thanks for the confirmation that pruners and plumber's knives are essentially identical!

:D

Watergate jokes still amuse me 45 years after the fact.
A pair of meritorious knives you've posted, Jack. That SW stockman seems rather rare!

At least there's two of us GT! ;) :D  Thank you, the Stockman was a gift from Herder when he visited :)

+5K!! Thanks, Jack! Greg, here are a couple more Schrade-Wostenholm examples, perhaps not coincidentally both canoes. One is a gunboat that I think is exactly like the one Jack posted (thanks, TsarBomba):

The other is a stag canoe (whose serial number happens to be my birthday in DD/MM format ) I won in a cchu GAW:

Sorry the images got lost GT, but I can picture both of your knives anyway :)

An old friend

Always good to see that one Paul

My BF rabbit holes all disappeared !! Fishing is starting to get good. My horse finished fifth. As requested (have the one fourth from top left in my pocket today):

Absolutely stunning line-up Mr P :) Enjoy your fishing

Very nice Ron

You have some superb fixed-blades my friend

Jack Black Jack Black
Thanks Jack. I'm trying real hard to limit my carries, we'll see how it goes. The jig bone is lighter and thinner than most so the size is not a problem.

It isn't your age, Jack. It's what passes for trains nowadays.

It WAS a pretty rotten train :( More like a bus on train tracks - cramped upright seats, no legroom, no tables, no refreshment car, overcrowded, one toilet for the whole train, and fares are very steep here too
:(

Good morning, everyone.

It's Walden and Winchester Wednesday.

Those two look great together

Thank you, Jack. I also like the ebony example you're carrying today: pure elegance.

It's wooden handles of a different variety in my pocket today:

Thanks Greg, that's a good pic :)
