Five minutes of sunshine today, yay.

Your scratted Ancient sure is a Textured Charmer, Dean! Sometime this summer, I'd like to get an appropriate wooden knife and try my hand at some home-made scratting.

Thanks, Gary! I look forward to your scratting project.

Thanks a lot Dean, two great choices there :)

Thanks, Jack!

That was a great idea for a photo!:thumbsup: One of my favorite songs and drink back in the day.

Some brand new green ALOX today.

Excellent choice. I have the Cadet version ordered.

On Wooden Wednesday I had my ebony TC with me.

So, this is on purpose patina, as opposed to the not on purpose patina I was whining about last week. We had a little party and I had to cut up some lemons and limes. The freshly cleaned 48 came out. Here's the result and this is my first patina that I purposely knew was going to happen and I like the start of it. Of course I plan to just continue with this one.

This has been in my pocket since emptying the mailbox today. :D

Man! I've been kinda ignoring GEC the past month or two but these look amazing!! Is that a satin finished Northfield!? Love the Northfield trim, love the sharp, precise angels of the satin finishes, best of both worlds. What a stunning knife!

Aias I agree, nothing like having a fixed blade at your side, ready to go.

Jack your train trip sounds like any plane trip I've made lately. Cattle car accommodations indeed. At least you can pull the emergency and step off a train.

Nice pair Dee.

That's the kind of knife pairing I'm talking about! What is the smaller one? I love a bar shield and swedges!

Speaking of beast and beauty, that's a study in contrasts, Dee!

That's an EPIC TC.
I know, I know, but I couldn't help myself.
How often does an opportunity like this present itself? :D

Thanks GT! Pioneer, my second favorite model, farmer is my first "love". Outstanding Imperial, great pic too (insert thumb up here, can't figure out how to do that on my phone).

Thanks Dean, you have some beautiful Barlows and today's is a stunner

Thanks for the additional info. Congrats on a fantastic little jack!

That's pretty much the Platonic ideal for a jack knife, Ron!:eek::thumbsup:

Sounds good; fork seems A-OK. :D

Thanks for the follow-up, Greg. That's a terrific trio pf British blades!

Utica trapper getting ready to "make hay while the sun shines"???;)

Man, you carry some "Big Iron", Anthony!:eek::thumbsup::D
I suppose it's possible that the Mora would push me over the "fixed blade precipice", but I like to pretend I have more self-control than that!:p

Thanks, Jack. I could have re-inserted those 2 pics, but by that time, I'd invested far more time into the undertaking than I could really afford relative to the rest of my life commitments! ;)

That pair looks unpretentious, yet effective!:cool:

Nice black and white beast and beauty, r8shell!

Cool pic, TIm! I have that song, but only on cassette tape, I think; did that really come out 50 years ago??!!?:confused:

Congrats on the spring green Alox, Tom! Pioneer or Farmer?

AKA, another amazing Atiger find!:thumbsup:

Congrats, Buzz!:cool: Hard to resist the symmetry of an equal-end pattern, or the allure of an animal shield! ;)

That's superb, Drew!! :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Yes I do GT! There is something very satisfying about a big ol' bowie! Forget self-control and sit by an open fire whittling with a 'big iron'... it's a great feeling. As for your carry this week--there is something very intriguing about that all steel Imperial... what's the story there?
