Such a remarkable Barlow, Atiger!!:thumbsup:

Been without patina for a week, so I dropped my imperial peanut in my pocket.
I carried this little Imperial Jack this morning.

Couple of very nostalgic (to me, at least) old shell Imperials, H&S and mykel!!:thumbsup: Hickory n steel, did you make that wallet? I like the lacing around the edges!

Today's carry and my first day as a basic member.
Congrats on your "status change" and on that fine copper dog's head KaBarlow, Marty!:cool::thumbsup:

This is a recycled picture of the Madison Barlow I gave to my father last year for his birthday. He passed away two days ago. I have been carrying it. View attachment 731222
Belated condolences, Travman; I'll keep you and your family in my prayers. The grain in the handle of your father's barlow is unforgettable, and I hope it will make an excellent memento of him for you.

Off out for a hike early in the morning :) Going to have these three with me

Thrilling three for the road, Jack! I think the pic of your Unity lambsfoot is outstanding!

Classy Cadet, Tim! :cool::cool:

Congrats on the scintillating stockman, Mike! I think I saw a seller's photo in the "what you got on order" thread, and it looks even better in your possession! ;)

Have a great Sunday everyone! Totin one of my Stag Clerks and off to meet my brother for breakfast. :)

What a beauty Ron, you have an unbelievable collection. After seeing this I had to grab mine out to snap a quick photo. Enjoy your Sunday, what's left of it...

Ron & 007hunter, that is a prime pair of stellar stag half-congress knives!:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: GEC named that model "Clerk"? Very nice!

I've been carrying my Rough Rider KB120 for the last few days and I love it. It's little but still does the job!

Looking good, Jerry!:cool: I have quite a few Rough Riders, but I've never tried their small 1-blade Barlow. I've heard good things about them, though (IIRC, Will Power is a big fan), and need to pick one up next time I go on a buying spree. :D

Thanks GT, water-power is a heck of a lot more reliable than Windows 10! Always good to see your Joker my friend :)
...
Hadn't heard that reliability comparison before! :D:thumbsup::D Thanks for the Joker comment. I have myriad good associations with that knife, as well as it being an excellent knife qua knife! ;)

This one today... I wasn't sure how well I would like the toohtpick, but I really do....

Striking toothpick, lamco3!!:thumbsup: If you're willing, how about some details? Who makes it? What size? Single blade?

Thanks GT! Afraid I am black and blue after cutting down a couple of trees in 90+ degree heat yesterday, but I will persevere. Thanks for the pic of the Joker, love seeing the big brother of the version I have

My Primble accompanying an Enzo necker today.

Thanks for noting my Joker, and that's a wonderful pair of knives you display, but I sure hope you had a more efficient tool for taking down a couple of trees!!:D I like the little saw on some SAK models, and it's really an eager beaver when it comes to gnawing wood, but I'm sure glad I had a 2' bow saw to help me take care of a bunch of oak limbs that came down in a recent storm!

My long-time favorite, I've got a Bob Lessard custom SAK with me. Pioneer tools, plus scissors and inline Phillips.

GytqeO6.jpg
Whoa, sticktodrum, that's almost a dream come true SAK for me!!:cool::cool::thumbsup: Scissors would definitely be my first addition, and I can certainly agree to go with the inline Phillips second, but then I'd like to add a second blade (maybe like the Electrician sheepsfoot) and/or a saw.

I changed up my usual Sunday carry this week.

Variety is the spice of life, and that simple but elegant red knife looks real spicy, Bob!:thumbsup:

If you're fortunate in life, you stumble upon that one knife that perfectly fits your lifestyle. And when you do, it's hard to carry anything else.

That's a noble little knife, Frank!:thumbsup: I'm very happy with my RR "baby copperhead" (clip main), but those Case models with the Wharncliffe main certainly sing a siren song. I've had a navy blue bone version on my "wish list" at a couple of vendors for several months, at least.

I agree..... :)
Two fine pieces of cutlery.
Thanks, Dee. :)

Hmmm was just heading off to a work meeting in York, and it got cancelled. Ah well, I've got plenty of other things to do :)

Carrying these two today, Unity Lambsfoot and my first TC Barlow. Have a good week everyone

Sorry (?) to hear your meeting was cancelled, Jack. If it were me, that would be a dangerous situation, since I'd likely hurt myself trying to dance a jig! :p Satisfying pair of knives (with lovely backgrounds)!:cool:

Thank you for all of the condolences. It means a lot to me. It makes me feel connected to good people.

I didn't carry the big and beautiful Cocobolo Barlow today. It is just too large most of the time. I'm back to my normal routine and my more normal size carry.

I always enjoy your dog shots, Travman. Is that knife a Beagle? ;)

These two work great around the property, the bowie is great for cutting up pineapple for the pigs.

bfpuma2-jpg.732149
Pineapples for your pigs, Kris? That's pretty posh! ;) Do they have quite a special diet?
When I visited my daughter in Spain, I found out how crazy Spaniards are about their jamon. Almost every restaurant and bar had pig legs hanging from the ceiling, and they'd reach up and slice off ham as needed! It was sold at a whole range of prices, some quite unbelievable to me. The most expensive was ham from pigs raised on a diet of a specific type of acorn only found in a single region of the country!

This morning I put away the knives scheduled for last week and replaced them with this week's prescribed set. Here are some of the knives I'll carry all week. (They happen to be the ones in my "knife wallet" in my LRP.)
Stockman of the Week is a Rough Rider 4-blade stockman, in which the 4th blade is a bottle opener (thanks, Barrett):

European Knife of the Week is a Taramundi, the first knife I bought (in Sevilla) when I visited Spain a couple of years ago:

Thank you for your kind words my friend :) I can assure you that those old cutlery hulls definitely did not have windows! ;) :D I've certainly danced a few work-free jigs in the past GT, but it's a bit different when you're self-employed! :D I wasn't too worried, but I'd have been grateful for a bit more notice :) What a great threesome you have there, and it's always a treat to see your lovely Taramundi

Thanks Gary, I pick up fruit when it is cheap, and that is quite often. They love fruit, vegetables not so much. People think pigs will eat anything, but the opposite is quite true. The famous, delicious, Iberico pigs of Spain, very nice marbling and soft fat from the acorn, quite expensive in this country and hard to obtain. Mangalitsa's are as good as Iberico's, and many chef's think they are better. The Puma works great because they won't eat the rind, so I shave it off in the pen. I finish the pigs to be eaten on only field peas and wheat. Enjoy your day.

My dad actually made it as a kid back in the 60's.

#66 calf roper with me today from the current run....The ebony/tidioute combo really makes for a nice carry for both the office and field. The 3 diverse blades riding on two springs really hits the sweet spot for length (3.5" closed), width (7/16"), and versatility. I still prefer single blade but this calf roper is slowly changing my mind.

Thanks, Mark; we've rented the same little cottage for a week or two for 27 straight years, I think, so we must enjoy it! :D

Congrats on the fine old garage sale Case whittler!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks GT! Like r8shell said, it's what keeps me stopping and asking at every yard sale I come across.
Nice Joker! I always like the look of Olive wood and the blade shape looks just right.

Carrying this new to me knife today. This knife represents a lot of "firsts" for me:
  • First and foremost, it is my very first Case knife (More of my thoughts regarding that here: Let's see your Case knives, old to new.)
  • It is my first Wood covered traditional folder (Walnut, I think?)
  • It is also my first single blade (bareheaded?) Jack
It will likely become one of my favorite knives to carry, I am so impressed with it. It also most certainly will make me give older Case knives a closer look in the future.
