What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Opened up the drawer today intending to grab a TC and this one refused to be ignored. Every time I take it out its like I am holding it for the first time again =)

Beautiful though that knife is, it and your hand are spoiling the view! :D

Darn, what is going on with all these Sodbusters, I wish I was carrying one myself now! :D Great knife

Cheers Jack. That's a cracking IXL. The old'ens are the always the best

Thanks a lot Donn, that one is actually by Joseph Allen, carrying it for Passchendaele

Had these 3 with me today . Case Saddlehorn and Case Russlock , both with Stag covers , and Case fixed blade.

We had to make a decision on " lots of bite sized tomatoes " or " more green beans " . Winner = " more green beans "

Holy smokes Harry those are all stunners!

The one on the top. An AG Russell "War Eagle".
Well made and I particularly like that I can access the sheepsfoot with my right thumb. "440A" (7Cr17MoV) blade steel.

How are they Frank? I heard that the F&F on them was consistently well done and if you wanted a good example of what China can do, AG's War Eagles are a great example.

I would agree with that assessment. I have two (as shown in the photo in my post above). Both are very well done.

AG says that his shop did not design them. They are just high end Chinese made Western Traditional knives.

The fit and finish of both is on a par with a well done Case. I am especially impressed with the stockman. Aside from the excellent fit and finish, IMO, the design is a step above most Case knives. The blades are done just right with the blades offset to the correct side to provide the maximum space between the blades. There is zero blade rub on the stockman, no matter how I open the blades. So often I look at a Case or a Queen and wonder what the designer was thinking when he designed the offsets on the blades. The offsets are often to the wrong side, so that they had to crink the blade more in an attempt to fit it in.

That's an interesting observation Frank and one that I hadn't noticed. I'm going to have to check my knives and see if I have any like that.
