What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Nice choices, Jack. I hope you don't need to use that whistle today!

Thanks Gary, those are two outstanding knives my friend, and that's a great composition :) I have a wee anvil on my own desk, but it's not as nice as yours :) I found myself thinking of you when I was in York today, as I always do :)

Thanks Alan.
@Peregrin
Gary, there have been so many threads on Queen's lack of QC. It's unfortunate because based on this tear drop they don't have to take a backseat to anyone in the manufacture of traditional knives.

Alan, I love Todd's special touches. Great looking knife!

With me today.

Wonderful shot Gary! Looks like some stropping is about to happen? Thanks for the comment on the Davison. I had to convince Todd to make that striper for me. The way he builds the bolsters and strips of micarta, steel is very tedious.

Thanks Dean!

Classy 13.

And thank you, Dee!

It's Yorkshire Day here tomorrow - well everywhere I guess! :D So I'll be out celebrating, accompanied by these two :)

Happy Yorkshire Day, Jack! Fine knives to celebrate the day with.

It sounds like a serious holiday!

"I, [Name], being a resident of the [West/North/East] Riding of Yorkshire [or City of York] declare:

That Yorkshire is three Ridings and the City of York, with these Boundaries of [Current Year minus 875] years standing; That the address of all places in these Ridings is Yorkshire; That all persons born therein or resident therein and loyal to the Ridings are Yorkshiremen and women; That any person or corporate body which deliberately ignores or denies the aforementioned shall forfeit all claim to Yorkshire status.

These declarations made this Yorkshire Day [Year]. God Save the Queen!"

Testing out a belt sheath with my Camillus TL-29 today.

Congrats on choosing that belt sheath from "The Box", Shawn! ;)

Thanks Gary!

:eek::eek::eek: Maybe I should have asked him to stop bugging me?

Wow, great looking covers!

Mark
:D:D
Thanks for the compliment on my horn Joker that my daughter gave me.

A couple of Case's today. The stockman is new.

Congrats on the classic yellow stockman, TMike!:thumbsup:

I must be getting forgetful! I have been on and off here several times today and I just realized I haven't shared what has been in my pocket today. :)

Vibrant Viper in an interesting setting, Ron!:cool:

How could you forget such a stunning piece? I'd be fondling it all day if I had it, kinda like I do with this R Cover Sr. Drop Point. :)

Very classy snakewood drop point, Ted!!!:thumbsup:

Thanks for the compliment GT, and for the feast of photography :) Some of my favourites there, and I particularly like this one of your Colt Canoe. Hope you and your family have a great vacation

These two for me today

Thanks for the kind words, Jack. I always look forward to the change of pace our vacation provides. :)
Great pair for you, especially that robust lambsfoot!:thumbsup:

Sounds like a great tasting stew. :)

Tomatoes to the rescue! :D
:D:p:D Thanks, Dee.

A change up for today, just because. About the same size, just a different approach. Queen liner lock tear drop and the venerable Douk-Douk.

Intriguing pair, Alan.:cool: Did you "sandblast" your Douk-Douk?

Today: day two of the switch.

Distinctive Davison, Alan; the blue stripes definitely work, and I'd never noticed the unusual shield before!:cool::thumbsup:

I bought this off of the exchange last week still has the factory oil on it but I just couldn't resist sticking it my pocket this morning. I did however put it in one of my slips. :D:rolleyes:

Congrats on that BF Drover, Randy! Appealing knife!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Nice Salamandra, Jeff.:cool: I have to go to your knives from Spain thread and watch the rest of the videos; great job on those!

Simple 14

Untitled by Josh, on Flickr
Simple, but highly effective, Josh; IMHO, that's what a jack knife should look like!!:thumbsup:

Great vacation pics GT, I especially like these two

I had a yellow CV sodbuster I gave to a cousin, so I am looking at 2 opposite ends of the spectrum for this one: either an orange synthetic with stainless steel or an amber jigged bone in CV.
...
Out and about with these today.

Thanks for highlighting a couple of my pics from past vacations, Tom. :)
I hope you can find the sodbuster you want. I think (but I could easily be wrong) that the only bone versions Case offers with CV are the chestnut jigged and pocket-worn whiskey bone.
Great photo of your unique new fixed blade with the famed blue Farmer!:cool:

View attachment 742834 View attachment 742832 Just picked this Boker up over the weekend. Not sure how old it is, but it is very solid with good snap and a lot of life left. I consider a good buy for $20. I see these don't go for much on eBay but the quality seems solid.
Cool Böker Barlow, ecallahan! :cool::cool:

Western 657

Noteworthy Western, Steve! (I've never handled/seen a Western pocket knife "in the flesh"!)

It's Yorkshire Day here tomorrow - well everywhere I guess! :D So I'll be out celebrating, accompanied by these two :)

Happy Yorkshire Day, Jack; that certainly looks like a celebratory couple of knives you've selected! ;)

My Alox knife for this week is a Cadet II (thanks, Ken):

My "big" knife this week is an Imperial small sodbuster; not sure why I classified this as "big", since that usually is reserved for knives at least 4" closed :

My "miscellaneous" knife this week is a buffalo horn GEC #85 with EO notch and coping secondary mods (thanks, Paul):

More like sandpaper Gary. It was a standard black handled D-D that started chipping so I just took some rough sandpaper to it and now it's "mine."

Is it venomous? Those old bramble twigs with their thorns can certainly bite:D Opinel Gardener looks to have a comfortable handle, not unlike their fillet knife which I use in the kitchen as an excellent folding knife for food prep.

Thanks, Will
