What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I also have my new Lionsteel Roundhead in carbon fiber. It doesn't have the handmade warmth of a traditional pocket knife, so I think of it more like a traditionally inspired modern slipjoint. That said, it's a very well made knife!

Quite a flurry of Lionsteel r8shell. I'm going to have to take a closer look. Do you mean that these are semi-machine made?

These two for me, Happy Friday!

Tom, great shot, and a nice pairing. Are you using the light box? I cannot seem to get it right unless I use the black mouse pad for the background... too much glare.

That's a nice looking canoe. I have my first arriving tomorrow. We'll see if it becomes a user. It sure looks good, as do all canoes. I've been tempted numerous times because who doesn't like the lines of a canoe. In any event, mine is stag which means it'll be ok.
Congrats on the stag canoe Joe. I must say the canoe did not grab me until I had it in hand, now I'm a believer. I especially like the sunk joints.

Good looking bone you have there. I have that in a Copperlock Mini CV. Interesting that you get Corona down under. Does NZ have much of a brewery scene? I think of NZ as 'wine' country.

Out of the safe and into the pocket finally...

:thumbsup::thumbsup: That first step is the hardest.

A handsome Douk Douk GT! Is the etch on the blade rare for a DD? I've not seen that, but most DDs get heavy use and the etch is rapidly lost. Would you mind posting a photo blade opened?

It in the yard again today, so it's the Opinel 10 and Case Canoe for me.

Stuart, what a gorgeous pair! The Little Valley Catt is something VERY special.
Thanks, Jeff. I don't have many of the Little Valley Cattaraugus knives and that one is my favorite (well, today, that is). The Novelty knife is really an odd duck to get info on.

Found room in my pockets for some old, though still green, companions today. Should get my lunch pals talking. On the left is a 3 5/8" tear drop by "Cattaraugus Cutlery Co., Little Valley, NY" and on the right is a 3 3/4" swell end by "N.C. CO. CANTON, O" - Novelty Cutlery Company, Canton, OH. Personally, I find it hard to research knives for either of these companies, but it is interesting (and I like them).

Very cool knives. Do a search of thread titles in this subforum. I'm pretty sure there was a long thread about Cattaraugus knives. Many of the picture links are probably broken, but there should be some good info on the history of the company.

That's my understanding. CAD design, CNC machining I assume. I've been wrong before, though.

Thanks, Rachel, for the suggestion. I'm now wandering through the threads. I can find info on the companies, but little on particular knives or pattern numbers, dates, as they weren't too "religious" about such things.

Thanks, Jack. :) I like your "pet animals"!:thumbsup:;) Does the squirrel have a stainless blade?

Thanks GT, the Squirrel is carbon, like that lovely Douk-Douk of yours :)

I've been carrying my Unity Lambsfoot today, together with my faithful #66, and a Manly Patriot, not the new member of the Village People, but a bargain-priced FB I got from Bulgaria a few months back ;) Hope everyone is having a great weekend

Tom, congrats to you and everyone else (at least 007hunter and Drew have posted them today, I think) on picking up those Lionsteel barlows!!:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: Is yours ram's horn? They seem to be shipping both light and dark versions of the ram's horn, and both look impressive.

I have this GEC 72 along on my vacation (thanks, Dee):

I also have this Douk-Douk in Michigan's Upper Peninsula with me, but we're quite a distance away from Gladstone, MI of Northwoods fame:

Thanks GT, yep that is ram horn. I was originally going to have some white custom scales made, but as this one is white-ish with a little character I may abandon that plan. Fantastic pair, the lanyard is super cool

Thanks Tom! Yes that is from my light box, send me a pic of yours maybe I can help.

In Chicago today for a wedding (NOT mine :) ), where I am pretty sure concealed fixed blades are a no-no, so I have these two.

Great carries Jack, the Manly is very manly, great clean lines too

Thanks GT.
Those 72s have always peaked my interest. I hope you have a good vacation.

The 77 is in my pocket once again. I spent all day fishing and never did get a pic.
