What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I quoted some posts last night to which I hoped to respond this morning, but some of them seem to have disappeared. :confused: But some remain, and I'll comment on those. ;)

Auspicious trio, Rachel; congrats!! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks for the ID, deltaboy. :thumbsup:

Those two are quite beguiling, Stuart! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Glad to hear that you're experiencing the charisma and charm of the canoe pattern, Tom! :thumbsup:;)
Thanks for the Douk-Douk comment. I think the blade etch is standard, and your conjecture about it disappearing with use is probably correct; I haven't used my Douk-Douk much at all. (Who am I kidding? I barely use ANY of my knives. :() Here's a pic you requested:

oldtymer, you sure have a lot of desirable pen knives!! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Yikes, an enigma! :eek: Is the theme related to a big C on the periodic table??

Thanks for the Squirrel info and D-D compliment, Jack. :)
Your pockets look to be filled with fetching knives (on whatever day you posted them) :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:. (Your Manly Patriot remark amused me, at least! :p)

Thanks for the confirmation, Tom. And thanks for the lanyard comment; next time, I think I can do a better job of braiding, but I was very happy with the "back-splicing" I did to finish off the braid (and leave a little loop for attaching a clip to attach the lanyard to a belt loop).
Great pair of "wedding knives"! :cool::thumbsup: I hope the matrimonial couple appreciate the gallant gesture and sacrifice you made to celebrate their union!! :rolleyes::p

Handsome, iconic pair of Cases, Grateful! :cool::thumbsup:

Thanks, Erik; vacation is going well (found 3 nice SAKs in flea markets, etc. up here), but fast! :eek: Never enough time to do all that we want to do. I'm not a fisherman, but I'll bet someone like you would have a great time fishing for northern pike, walleyes, and perch in Lake Huron. :cool:

Immaculate pair and impressive pic, Jake!! :thumbsup::cool:

That black/white/red tricolor trio looks jazzy, Jack, but pales in comparison to the scenic vistas you posted from your hike!! :eek::thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: (My daughter and I hiked a trail in a nature preserve Sunday afternoon, but the wooded/marshy setting made it a challenge to see more than a hundred yards in any direction.)

Hot knife and killer pic, Bob! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Lovely stockman, Randy!! :thumbsup::thumbsup: I recognize everything in your photo except the "Victorinox cube"; what IS that gizmo?? :confused:

Steve, that Böker 494 certainly is a memorable Barlow! :cool::thumbsup:

Notable pair for sure, Dylan! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Outstanding knife, Stuart (especially considering it's a century old :eek:)!! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Phenomenal Lloyd stag, rockman!!! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

I have a couple of modded Opinels with me this week.
One is a #6 whose handle I modified last summer, and consequently had to modify the blade :rolleyes::

The other is a #8 (thanks, Dave):

I also have a Kutmaster stockman with both springs broken, but with blades I can use to practice sharpening (thanks to Jack Black for the knife rest):

Thanks, GT. Love the Opinels!

Am carrying this Left Handed 73 that I got from Half Stop Ron at the Rendezvous , and we run into these tree trimmers in Holland , Michigan who were having a VERRRRRRY BAD day

The crane boom is extended and wedged into a tree vee after a 20 to 25 foot free fall of the boom .
I did not even offer to help with their problem because I could not speak their language .

So you didn't offer to climb up in that tree and use that 73 to solve the problem?:D
Can't say that I blame you!

ell they're all carbon steel, and they're all clip point, but mostly they're all made by imperial in prov.RI.

Too big of a job for even a 73 . They had to shut off the electric and get some additional equipment in but they got it out of the tree .
