What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

PT, what a unique collection. What locking mechanism(s) on these two?

@5K Qs I understand and appreciate your trapper view; I just felt bad for posting one right after you had explained it. And I appreciate getting to see the RR knives, of which I was unaware. I didn't need another knife to chase, but . . As to the NKCA canoe, I took the bone description from the NKCA. I don't see it myself; it must be green dyed bone, as opposed to the greenish bone that Case and others used early on. It is DEEP green:

Btw thank you fishcakes for the peanut which I love so much.
I totally forgot who I had received it from back at the beginning of the year, but luckily I had no problem
remembering the name of the giveaway you held.

I really do love this knife and how capable it is.

I like looking at trappers, Stuart, I just don't seem to carry them well.

Thanks for the details, Gev!:thumbsup::)

MJ, that knife is gorgeous in its simplicity and obvious functionality!!:cool::thumbsup:

Thanks for a "tip of the cap" to my Imperial, Jack. :) That's quite a fetching, photogenic pair for you!!:thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

I like 1 in 676 for a first approximation to the odds, r8shell!:thumbsup:;) Of course, that involves the simplifying assumption that all letter pairs are equally likely as initials, and that's obviously unrealistic. For example, Case knives notwithstanding, "XX" seems a very unlikely pair of initials; how many Xavier Xanadus are there out there?? :D

That's quite a testimonial, Shawn!! :cool::cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Hey! I LOVE that knife, Stuart, since I have one just like it!!:cool::cool::thumbsup: (I think mine is No. 2787.) Fantastic jigging, but why is it called "green bone"? Here's a pic of mine:

VERY serviceable lambsfoot knives, scruffuk & Ron!!:cool::thumbsup: Outstanding form AND function, I'll bet! ;):thumbsup:

Impressive pen blade, Steve! Is that a Texas Jack?:thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Lotta nice woods represented there, Dylan!!:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: What do I think I see? Pine, oak, rosewood, ebony, and whatever the weathered wood is that it all rest upon.

"All time favorite" is pretty strong praise, Grateful!!:thumbsup::cool: What model is that? Frontier bone #56??

Tom, thanks for the Imperial comment, you silver-tongued devil! :)

I agree with Rob that you've got a dynamite pair of Barlows, Wayne!!:thumbsup::cool::thumbsup: But I'm gonna disagree with him on which of the two is "better"; that darker bone and script bolster stamp makes the bottom one a dream come true for me!!:thumbsup::cool::thumbsup::D

W:eek:W, Pt-Luso!! Are you carrying ALL of those beauties today?? You sure posted a lot of amazing knives!!:thumbsup::cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I'm not ashamed to say I like Rough Riders, and they fill four of my categories this week.
My Miscellaneous Knife of the Week is a RR amber jigged bone whittler:

Love the blades on that baby copperhead GT, not huge on the copperhead pattern but the s knife sure does look nice in your picture.
those blades would certainly look great on an equal end pen pattern.

Just received my Hitch &Timber leather slip for my T.A Davison .
So looks like I'll be carrying both tomorrow for the first time
This slip is a perfect fit and the quality is outstanding .

You ever wanna get rid of that particular Davison, I’d like to know.

Time to go to the hunt club and check on tree stands, the old house and shed, and clear trails. Along with the chain saws, brush-cutters, machetes, bug spray, water bottles, and gas cans, a couple personal cutting tools are needed. The Estwing Sportsman's hatchet really comes in handy (riding on my belt), as does the Gerber EZ-Out (a great EDC), and the Queen #31 will slice the summer sausage on the tailgate for lunch. I wish I had a blade for chiggers.

(I realize how lucky I am to be able to get ready for hunting season when too many folks in Las Vegas no longer have a tomorrow or have a very sad one. God bless them all.)

Baseball playoffs start tonight with the Yankees/Twins wildcard game at Yankee Stadium. Not that I'm superstitious or anything.....I'm carrying my pattern 99 Wall St. Stag in honor of #99 Aaron Judge and wearing the #7 pin for my favorite player, Mickey Mantle.
