Jake, that Winchester looks like an awesome knife, what year is that....80's?...Lovely looking scales, some old smooth bone?

Im carrying this neat old girl today.....gave this Old Robeson a few licks on the Ceramic Rod...very sharp now!
I know some of you may think this old girl may not look so nice, but I think the opposite...the work that this knife has done, the walk and talk is like any new knife out there, and for some reason...I just love looking at it, its a pleasure to own and carry thats for sure!

Thank you, Duncan. It's the smooth yellow bone from '89. It's my first yellow bone. I always liked the look of the Moore Maker sowbelly but I wanted a three blade instead of five blade. This Winchester is exactly that knife so I'm pretty excited about it. I wish I had it way back in '89!

The Robeson is a peach! Certainly no one in this forum would discriminate based on its years! It's an uncommon pattern with some pretty jigged bone handles that have mellowed nicely over the years. I'd rather have that knife than a new one.

Böker Pen. This is an oddball, stainless blades and carbon backspring! Nice bone though, kind of Honeycomb.

Cheers guys...its quite amazing how....when you really get into the Traditional knives...in most cases, the new knives take backstage compared to these lovely lovely old knives! I just cant explain the feeling that I get when I have a knife like this in my pocket.... Its sorta way cool for an old fella :o
My mates just love it when something like this is shown to them....its great seeing them go "oooh and aaah" over my knives, when they were never really knife folk....they certainly have their own knives now ( although my stock has diminished some lol ),
Thank you for the kind comments guys, and thank you to the previous owner

Sunday early afternoon here folks.....its windy and overcast outside..what a perfect day to sit down and do some drawing...here is a John Lloyd that sharpens all my pencils to needle point!

The deep canyon jig looks good, Ed!

Last night, I swapped the sowbelly for the 2011 forum knife -- needed it to open bottles at a holiday party. Today, I'm totin' an ebony Case Humpback Stockman.

Great knife, nothing can look like aged bone. You are lucky man my friend :)

I admire that "ageing" you put on the blades, looks a treat!

Must get some of that chemical myself.

Theese two guys followed today my trail. I was for coffee at my wife´s mom. A stag handled knife makes always a figure :D The Ankermesser is pretty traditional in Germany. As well as the Mercator.

Kind regards
Andi

Embarrassed to ask, but "Walks and talks"??? :o
No worries! Don't even worry about asking ?'s here! It's the action and the nice sound the knife makes
when opening and closing the blades! The "snap". Hope this helps buddy!
