What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Can you tell I’ve been eating apples?

That looks very nice. How did you do it? I assume Flitz, but did you have to polish the entire blade on both sides to match it up?

I use Mother’s Mag and Aluminum polish. Rubbed it most of the way off by hand and finished by buffing both sides on a cotton wheel. You can still very faintly see a slight outline. It’s very hard to catch it, you have to angle the blade just right. Doesn’t even show up in pics.

Been a rather busy weekend... We've been house shopping the past several weeks and things have been a wee bit hectic. Put an offer on a house on Saturday, now we wait with baited breath...

Everyone has been carrying some very fine knives, I wish I could compliment them all. But, alas! I have not the time.

I have these two with me today.

Good luck with the bid. It can be nerve wracking for sure! Nice pair of knives to sooth your anxiety, nonetheless.

Carried my new Wess Barnhill JS test knife while on a hike with my dog. It’s based on a Green River hunting knife pattern. Forged from 5160 steel, stainless guard, spacer, and pin. Scales are stabilized box elder burl. It was one of those knives that as soon as you open the package, it’s pure love. Lol.

Koa says hi as he chews on a stick.

That is a very handsome knife, Jake. The depth of the ricasso and the shape of the guard appear to allow a good controlling grip on the blade. Koa is pretty handsome, too.

Thanks Stuart. I posted a shot of the other side in the “Fixed Blades and Pig Stickers” thread of you want to check that out.

A while back, @5K Qs posted a picture of a very fine looking Remington Bullet knife that he had recently received. It caught my eye and caused me to look through the boxes from the trove of knives that my stepfather left to me when he passed away several years ago. Using the Old Crafty that I was carrying yesterday to remove some old twine, I opened a box that I had left shut (not enough time back then) and found a couple. I guess I know what I'll be totin' for a few days.

These knives are not original Remington-made Bullets. Remington's cutlery division was sold to PAL Cutlery in 1940. PAL ceased pocket knife production in 1953. These are authorized reproductions of old Remington Bullet models and were made by Camillus between 1984 and 1990. Today, I carried one of the two R1306 Trackers in the pile (the other was still sealed in plastic). 440 steel blade, Delrin Staghorn scales, made in 1990.
