Fantastic flaming Farmer!!
Holy Moly, Stuart!!A while back,5K Qs posted a picture of a very fine looking Remington Bullet knife that he had recently received. It caught my eye and caused me to look through the boxes from the trove of knives that my stepfather left to me when he passed away several years ago. Using the Old Crafty that I was carrying yesterday to remove some old twine, I opened a box that I had left shut (not enough time back then) and found a couple. I guess I know what I'll be totin' for a few days.

These knives are not original Remington-made Bullets. Remington's cutlery division was sold to PAL Cutlery in 1940. PAL ceased pocket knife production in 1953. These are authorized reproductions of old Remington Bullet models and were made by Camillus between 1984 and 1990. Today, I carried one of the two R1306 Trackers in the pile (the other was still sealed in plastic). 440C blade, Delrin Staghorn scales, made in 1990.

Thanks for the wood ID, Leslie.I doubt if I notice more things that others, but I have no "filter" on my keyboard - whatever I notice I'm apparently compelled to comment on.
Very attractive #25, Leslie!
Congrats on the Mudbug, Leslie!!
Thanks,JTB_5 .
It's a "clamped bolsters" Imperial with a celluloid "wrapper". I think the official name of that style celluloid was "cracked ice", but many call it MOTS (Mother of Toilet Seat).
Here's a photo that shows its design a little better:

That's a peerless pair of knives - black/red, wood/bone, spear/sheep.I look at the barehead thread and think, "Yeah, barehead jacks are best", but then I see a photo like yours and think, "How can you top the looks of an end cap?"
Striking congress,Txjohn !!

Holy Moly, Stuart!!Cutlery Christmas in January!! I know I'm likely in the minority, but I LOVE the faux stag on your Remington lockback!
Looking forward to seeing the contents of that pile of boxes!
Stellar stainless and stag duo, Ron!
For me, Canoe of the Week is my Rough Rider amber jigged bone; first canoe I ever owned/handled, and for some reason the pattern grabbed me by the heart and won't let go:

This made me laugh out loud!Ready for anything with these two:
The Apple in my lunch better watch out!
Congrats on that Black Box Winchester 2857, Tom!There are quite a few of those that show up on The Porch now and then. What do you call yours? I've seen "dogleg jack", "bullet jack", "teardrop jack", "torpedo jack", and "candle-tip jack" applied to that model!
I picked up some DMT Diafolds a while back, and my wife gave me a Flexcut strop and some Flexcut gold compound for Christmas, so I was "honing" my feeble sharpening skills on a couple of my old Imperials. And much to my surprise, both blades on both of these knives are much sharper after relatively little time spent!I've been amazed how well they've been performing on food prep this week! (Both pictured before the recent successful sharpening sessions.)

I never get tired seeing those Bark River blades Mark. Thanks, I am calling it a Teardrop Jack GT, as that is the name I am most familiar with. Congrats on the sharpening success! My new black box knives all need sharpening and while I used to dread that task, I look forward to the challenge now (what is more challenging is finding the time to do it though
).
These 2 on board today:
