What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Jeff, another nice Craftsman! I have seen Case patterns with both steels and the "For Flesh Only" etch on the spey, but can't remember if it was a stockman or a trapper, maybe both. I think the blades on mine are all stainless: it's a 50+ year old knife and doesn't have a mark on any of the blades.

Another great pic. Nice one Ratbert. You must live somewhere where you actually have rain. Not like Kalifornia this year :(

Thanks! I live in Georgia, north of Atlanta. It has been pretty rainy the last week or so and promises to be a wet, soggy Spring, which is fine by me.
These pics are from a nearby wetlands preserve that I hiked through this morning. Saw a few rabbits, squirrels and lots of Canada Geese. Deafening frog choruses, so I think Spring may not be far away!

Bull Nose and Eleanor are both looking great, Barrett.:thumbsup:;) How's the truck look now? :p

My Miscellaneous Knife this week is a Marbles Handyman's Helper II:

Thanks, GT. The truck is looking significantly less salty! :D

I don’t think I’ve seen (or haven't noticed) that Marbles before. Definitely a unique pattern. How bulky is it when it's all folded up?

That is a very cool picture . It made me think a lot and really study. I think you are probably sitting in the Captains chair of a Tug Boat pushing some barges on probably the Mississippi River or the Ohio River ????? That seems to me to be very interesting occupation . Thanks for the extremely interesting picture . Nice knife too my friend .

Talk about aging gracefully! Still gorgeous.
I'm settling in with some old friends today, both of whom I know can pull their own if called upon. A Case 02 bare head jack (1920-1940) and a slightly younger Case 35 regular jack (1940-1964) in redbone. Still as solid as the day they were born (though the elder is showing some age spots, just like its owner).

Thanks.
R8's art deco-looking knife reminded me of my art deco-named knife. Also CRKT, also discontinued.
Yes, those Deco CRKTs are from the same designer. I would have ordered both, but they only had the pearl one in stock. How do you like the odd point on yours?
Pardon me for quoting myself, but I forgot to mention a peculiarity with that big Stockman. The clip main and sheepsfoot are carbon, as evidenced by the patina, but the spey is stainless.

I wonder if that is related to how the spey is sometimes etched with “FOR FLESH ONLY”?
I've seen Case Stockmans with the stainless spey, and I assumed it was considered more "sterilizable" for surgery. On the other hand, I've seen Uticas and Schrades with random mixes of carbon and stainless blades depending on what was on hand.

Today I'm carrying a made in Japan beater of a Barlow. The action is rough, but the blades cut.

It's not top of the line,
But it's been dependable a long time

Love to see other guys carrying Wengers!

I love both Vic and Wenger, but there are subtle differences that I like about the Wengers- the profile of the main spear blade, for instance. Or maybe I just feel like rooting for the underdog since they got stomped and swallowed up by the big guy.
I usually carry a Wenger, but right now, there is a big fat Vic in a Leatherman sheath on my belt.

Congrats on the new Case, jwb01 jwb01 - that is one super-sized stockman!:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Thanks GT! I really do love the supersized stockmans in the hand... the pocket not so much.
