What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Good afternoon, everyone, and Happy Monday.

Too many good knives to comment on over the last few days so I'll just say you all have impeccable taste in fine cutlery. :D

I have these two with me today.

Couldn't resist pocketing my swayback gent today; slim and light, it just feels right*. (I also have my 6318 stockman in my back pocket, but no picture.) And yes, the crocus are blooming!

Once again, a trick of the light makes the shiny SS blade look dark -- reflecting my black shirt.

*I am a poet and don't know it. :confused:

@Peregrin those are three beauties, Gary (and a very belated welcome to the ACC).
Gevonovich Gevonovich Thanks for the support. We're "shooting" for next weekend, Here's a pic or 2 to tide you over.

I was almost more smitten with the hood ornaments than the cars, but I wonder how fast that 16-cylinder Cadillac could go.
I agree with you on the hood ornaments . I wonder what year they went from being a Temperature Gage to a Hood Ornament . Some of them are fabulous .
I have no idea how fast the that big old Cadillac would go . That is probably the Longest car there and I never noticed the weight of it but I did see that there was an older and shorted auto there that weighed 5700 pounds . So I expect that the cadillac is heavier than that and I did not notice the Horsepower of the Cadillac either . I expect I was probably just standing there with my mouth open gasping at the length of the hood and car .
We will be going back there in July . Still much to see .

We didn't quite finish before dark. A small strip left to rake and about 10 piles left to burn. My helpers were on again, off again, but I didn't even have to ask them; they just wanted to join in: I've got some good boys!

Forgot the obligatory knife photo:

I had this in my pocket the whole day, but only did a few trimming chores. It did not get any condensation, surprisingly. But I guess it was cool enough and there was a nice breeze.

These 14-hour workdays on Monday are not really designed for geezers like me! :eek: But I'll try to partially catch up with this thread before I head for bed! Fun Times! :p
I like that Mini Copperhead, Gary. Had my eye on one of these for awhile. Case does that blue bone really well and I especially like the way it sets off the red shield. Well done! :thumbsup:
So many great knives and inviting pictured locales, I fear I can't cover them all.
5K Qs 5K Qs That brilliant blue Case is a blissful beauty. I'm enthralled.

Thanks, Ratbert & Stuart. :) I agree that it has incredible visual appeal! :thumbsup::thumbsup:

So far this morning it's the coffin and the cadet.

Preeminent pair, Jeff! :cool::thumbsup:

I've seen that knife on the right several times, Joshua, and I'm still not sure what (if anything) is depicted on the handles - mysterious and intriguing! :confused::thumbsup:;)

Nothing exciting for yesterday; just my SAK Waiter.

The porter (?) and pork pie would give me quite a thrill, donn! :D:thumbsup:

He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword;
His truth is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!

To mark my 1,000th post, I thought that I'd post 13 3/8" of righteousness. More practically, I'm pocketing the slender (13/32") 4-blade Kissing Crane whittler, second from the bottom. As to the grapes of wrath, I pray for a crop failure.

Congrats on the posting milestone, Stuart, and thanks for making such a high percentage of them (including this one) interesting and informative!! :cool::cool::thumbsup::thumbsup::)

My Stag 56 today.

Thanks everyone, the quality choice goes to the dealer. I entrusted him to pick it out with only a little input from me:thumbsup:

Here's the pile side Harry:)

Holy (Sambar) Buck, Paul!! :eek::eek::thumbsup::cool::cool::thumbsup: That's perfect stag, IMHO! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

That's a revered old Hoffritz, rishma!! :thumbsup::cool::cool::thumbsup:

These two today, hope everyone is having a fine weekend.

As usual, you've posted a pair of winners, Tom! :thumbsup::cool::cool::thumbsup: A bit rare that they're both folders, though, isn't it? ;)

Many thanks, Jack. I did not start posting in earnest until this past August and I easily realize that, by the standards set by stalwarts of this thread, I am a piker, if not a pissant. However, if I show up every day, apply myself and do an honest day's work that Porch pension will start piling up and, then, begin pouring out.

(There is a pension, right?)
:D:D I recently praised you over your interesting/informative posts, but I wonder how many of your 1000 posts have been completely delusional??!? :eek::rolleyes:

I'm carrying my CSC forum knife today (probably tomorrow, too). It is hard to let this one lay around.
High class knife, Dean, as I've come to expect from you!! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Spent some great time today at this place in Michigan

Had these in my pocket again today.

Fantastic stag pair, Harry! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: That Heckles is one of my favorites. ;) I've never been to the Gilmore Museum, even though it's not far from where I've lived for the past 35 years, and is even closer to where I grew up. I took swimming lessons at Pine Lake, not far from Hickory Corners. And I've been to antique tractor shows in Hickory Corners with my Grandpa T back in the 50s and/or 60s.

My intention was birds since it's the season ..so the long lens it was. And of course a cattle knife. A Curtain & Clark in ebony, since the weather was wet and overcast...perfect :D

Non-SAK bailed knife this week is a Colonial scout. I have no recollection of where/how I got it, but I've had it for at least 30 years, I'll bet.

5K Qs 5K Qs That knife you've been seeing is a custom slip joint from French knife maker Roland Lannier. For his production knives he uses comic books, which he soaks in resin and then uses as covers (he also has covers made of concrete!), but I asked him if he would do a page from a work of art that I really like: View of Toledo by 16th/17th century artist, El Greco (Doménikos Theotokópoulos).

Here is a link to the Wiki article on the painting: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/View_of_Toledo

I say it is 83% and I am unanimous in that opinion.

Lovely and luxe red knives, as ever, GT.
