What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I like the wee Schrade Walden FBC. I like the background it lays on as well:cool:
I thank you, Paul. Rusty old signs and rusty old tools make good backgrounds. :)
The stag on your 56 is A-MAZE-ING! You need to buy who ever picked that one out for you a beer.:thumbsup:

I finally got around to picking up a Churchill. .

@paulhilborn Still "piling" it on, eh, Paul?
@SteveC Bodacious Boker barlow, and great picture.

I'll be back shortly. I'm going to go burn my knives.

How in blues blazes do you lose a knife that size? It looks like it would follow you back in the house.

I'm still laughing, Jeff. That's some funny stuff, right there. And I agree.

rswanson rswanson Fine picture of a very fine knife. I love the collar stays. I've been retired almost 7 years and I still hae a pile of stays and a couple Jos. A. Bank's suits. They were like coveralls for me for years.

Thank you my friend, they don't combine with my Cpap machine too well either :(
...
Hope everyone had a great weekend :) I'm starting off the week with these two

Since starting to use a CPAP about 18 months ago, I've been fortunate to not contract any illnesses that lead to coughing at night; I can imagine that CPAP and coughing is incompatible. :( Capital choices for your carry!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Amazing knife, Alan, and the slip has an appealing texture!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Harry, glad you had an opportunity to visit the Gilmore Museum, it's a premier auto museum with a great reputation and an interesting founding story. Each summer they host one of the best antique/classic motorcycle shows. Here's a info link. https://www.gilmorecarmuseum.org/

The White Owl is a favorite of mine.

Eye-catching White Owl, James!:thumbsup::cool: Did it originally have a bail? (Congrats on the new movie about you! ;):D)

I’m running errands this morning with these two in my pockets. A Tidioute 74 Ebony Stallion and a Schatt Morgan HJ3 in Green Jigged Bone. Thanks again @Will Power :D

Beautiful contrasting color combo, Ron!:cool::thumbsup:

After four days of intermittent rain and snow, the snow is melting, the fields are flooded and the creeks are swollen. Last night, I had to pull the plug on a long planned rabbit hunt for today, leaving eight men and two young boys (plus eleven beagles) pretty disappointed. It's going to be a long, gray day hanging out on the covered porch, thinking about what might have been. I grabbed the Parker trapper from yesterday's pile and some things to help the time slide by. Now, where's my jacket . . .

Sorry your hunt got flooded out, Stuart. That's a fancy pipe tool!:cool::thumbsup:

Nice knives today, folks!
Same ole same ole for me!

Quality quartet, Gary!:cool::cool: Up to 4 knives each day?? When will you upgrade to an even half-dozen? :D

...
I have these two with me today.

What a pair! What a picture! Impressive, Dylan.:cool::cool::thumbsup:

Not sure when I'll give the Case half whittler a break, I'm just really liking it right now.
That's a handful of happy for a knife guy!:cool::thumbsup:

View attachment 852150 It's the TrapperNut for the rest of the evening.
I have no experience with that pattern; looks very interesting!:cool::thumbsup: Same size as a peanut?

I shrunk my carry today and went with this little Schrade Walden 708.

That's an enchanting little pen knife, FBC!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

5K Qs 5K Qs That knife you've been seeing is a custom slip joint from French knife maker Roland Lannier. For his production knives he uses comic books, which he soaks in resin and then uses as covers (he also has covers made of concrete!), but I asked him if he would do a page from a work of art that I really like: View of Toledo by 16th/17th century artist, El Greco (Doménikos Theotokópoulos).

Here is a link to the Wiki article on the painting: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/View_of_Toledo
Thanks for the fascinating info about your custom French knife, Joshua!:cool: My daughter lived in Madrid for 6 years, and I went for an extended visit about 3 years ago. She took me all around Spain, and a day in Toledo was one of many highlights. Here's a photo I took because it reminded me of the El Greco painting (different sky, though):

Thanks Gary and a nice red trio, your pretty much prepared for anything you encounter this week:)
Thanks, Paul. :) I need to edit my rotation schedule, because the Huntsman and the Colonial SAK are too similar to carry at the same time.

Thanks, GT, I truly appreciate the rapport and repartee on the Porch, and with you.

I say it is 83% and I am unanimous in that opinion.

Lovely and luxe red knives, as ever, GT.

:D:D Thanks for the kind words, Stuart. :)

Brutal GT, similar hours in the colleges here :( Interesting Colonial

I'm carrying these two today

Thanks for sharing those "twins", @ISKRA and @Gevonovich !!:thumbsup::cool: Gev, you said it, sir! Those are what I think of when I hear "jack knife"!:thumbsup::cool:

Thanks Gary ! Great photo !
Thanks, Gev. :)

14 hour Monday's, yikes GT! Fantastic selection of SAK’s

Two folders is unusual for me, but I am trying to give Barlow knives a chance in 2018. I really want to like the pattern, but in the past I have not loved them in practice. I may succumb to a friend's challenge and carry one exclusively for a month :).

Shuffler helping me with breakfast this morning.

Thanks for the comments on my knives and your Barlow plans, Tom! :):thumbsup: Cool pic of your Italian Barlow!:thumbsup::cool:

A TC and a Drover for me today. :)

Thanks my friend, it was your posts (and those of a few others) that encouraged me to get a test for sleep apnoea. I got the CPAP just before Xmas, but I have had a hacking cough for 6 months now, the same last year. I've had X-rays, but I think it relates to my asthma, or maybe an allergy (my doctor is very complacent). The cough is so bad, I have even hurt one of my ribs! If I was a horse, I think I would have been shot by now! :D Always a treat to see your spectacular Taramundi

5K Qs 5K Qs The TrapperNut is exactly the same as the Peanut, just with a spey in place of the of pen. Its handy having a pinchable blade in such a small knife

Beautiful Radio knife Jack!! I'm glad you're not a horse,;) get better soon.

Eye-catching White Owl, James!:thumbsup::cool: Did it originally have a bail? (Congrats on the new movie about you! ;):D)

Thanks GT!!! The White Owl did have a bail. I carry it often so I made it a little more suitable to my taste.:) The movie is about a distant cousin. That side of the family is a little rough.;)
BTW great choice of Spanish cutlery!! Both the style and that smooth blonde horn!!:thumbsup:

Today's carry, this 25. The Che Chen wood has some amazing grain!

I'd pay an embarrassing amount of money for a trappernut in CV and chestnut bone. I've been on the fence for a regular one. I like that the blades open from the same side. The blue bone one is rather fetching (don't care for the others I see available). I also like that the pulls are on the same side - the pen blade on my CV peanut always wants to bite me.

Great choices this week, Gary. Can’t ever go wrong with a 34OT, an iconic American medium stockman.

Thanks, Gary. Just 3 a day, unless I get crazy! I like your choices for the week!
