What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Beautiful knife and photographs, Stuart !! Interesting the long pull in on the pile side of the main. And it looks to be way narrow for a nail to get into ? Cool data on OH !

Just wide and deep enough to work, though it is "minimalist". But, hey, they were scissor makers (or so they say). You can quickly fall down the worm hole trying to research them. A gentleman who was associated with the firm also ran Quikut cutlery in Fremont, later makers of the Ginsu line of knives

Today the word "cut" is spelled K-R-E-I-N

Thanks Paul! :) You know that old saying, “Try it you’ll like it!” ;) It is definitely true about retirement my friend!!! :D

I saw you snag that Lick Creek on the exchange the other day! That’s two that were made to go together! :D
Thank you my friend !!!

Huh?
Not cool?

Trappers are extremely cool and useful to boot. Love those big Case trappers.

Edit:
I misread and thought you said “not the coolest of knives”

In case you wondered what I was going on about.

Anyway, great Case trapper!

I better put some knives in here! This is pretty much what I pick from most days. Sometimes I'll get the bug to carry something else, but not often. Today it's the two on the top, as it is most days, and the second from the left, a Brent Cramer LC Jr.

I'll be back shortly. I'm going to go burn my knives.

Thanks! Bottom knife is a homemade jobber. I lost it out in the rain in the yard for a couple of weeks, now it has lots of "character" lol.

How in blues blazes do you lose a knife that size? It looks like it would follow you back in the house.

Our weather broke and now is sunny and unseasonably warm. Found a crocus busting out and placed my day's choice there to contrast the ebony scales: a Clauss Cutlery Co. swell end jack. It's an odd company from Fremont, OH (once cutlery capital of the world with 65 cutlery businesses employing 3,000 workers) that was founded in 1887 and is still around in some form. They made their name and fortune (lost several times) on scissors and shears. As far as I can tell, they quit making pocket knives in 1946.

I'm a bit jealous over the crocus...ours a ways off yet. But that Clauss!!!

Just arrived this morning F&F fine as you would expect although the cap lifter was a bit stiff so a quick dip in warm soapy water , scrub with old tooth brush that I keep just for that, pat dry and blow out the rest with air duster and finish off with a drop of Boker oil , now the cap lifter is a nail breaker , go figure !!!

That stiff cap lifter was supposed to go to a teetotaler!
