What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

We’re out of our house for a month, during major renovations, so I baked in cast iron for the first time, in our temporary quarters. I haven’t swapped out my knife from the other day.

That bread looks scrumptious, and I'm a sucker for Nifebrite. How did the cast iron bake turn out compared to your normal methods?

Chores and house hunting today. These two are my companions.

Great photo (as always), Dylan! Do you use your phone to take photos, or a dedicated camera? Also, good luck on the house hunt. That's one of my least favorite things to do. :D (We're renting a place here in MN until we get settled a bit and know the area better, but I swear my wife has looked at houses online every day since before we got here, and will probably continue doing so every day until we buy one. I don't know how she does it. I feel like I'm still recovering from house hunting five years ago when we bought our place in AZ.)

All the talk about friction folders the other day made me want to carry my Svord Mini Peasant. I have been thinking about cutting the tang down a little but haven't committed yet.

Good looking Svörd. Did you swap out the scales with something different, or modify the scales that were on it?

That knife looks good with that forced patina. I like some of the "premium" features GEC offers on the Northfield line (such as the more interesting bone jigging), but I'm not really fond of the polished blades. (I know a lot of folks probably disagree with me on that, and that's ok.) :D

#25 Barlow in my pocket this weekend.

Beautiful knife Leslie

That looks like it'd be very handy in the field Paul, as well as a great-looking knife

Pockets are full this weekend:

Very nicely full too

Bark River City Knife / Vic Farmer

Great combo! :)

Have these in my pocket today

One of them has some pretty Fat Stag

Carrying these 2 remind me of me of when we went to Yellowstone in 2015 . I carried these then because they had blades way less than 3 inches.
One of my favorite spots in the world to visit . We have been there 4 times and have our reservations for this year .

Please forgive me for remembering .

Harry

Incredible pics Harry

Already more than 48 hours behind in this thread , but I'm going to try to catch up in some kind of random, slipshod way. Oh, wait, that describes ALL my posts!

Health care professionals at their finest! Thanks for the knife niceties. :) By this time of year, I'm much less curious about snow than you apparently are! ;) Fabulous Ankermesser!:thumbsup:

...

I like Dylan's frequent black/red pairs, but your orange and black combo also stirs the soul, Jack! Happy Hiking!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

The Free Choice Knife of the Week that I chose "on a whim" last Sunday was a Case pen knife that I like VERY much, pictured here with a slimline trapper (thanks, Tom) that's almost always in our kitchen:

I'm kind of behind myself GT, thought I'd better split my post! ;)

Yeah, snow is quite a novelty here these days! :D Though I suspect the novelty is wearing off for many folks  Thanks for the kind words on my Ankermesser my friend, and on my orange and black hiking knives :) Nice Yellers there :)

Nice to see that one :) I haven't carried mine much this year, but think it's a very decent knife, particularly in cold weather. I thought I might find the tang a bit 'pokey', but as I usually carry it in a coat pocket, it's not been a problem. I always fancied one of the Michael Morris friction folders we used to see a lot of here at one time, but don't know if I'd have actually taken to one

Hope everyone is having a great weekend, and that Sunday goes well too :) I'm carrying my 2017 Guardians Lambsfoot today, along with a GEC #66

Thank you! I would normally agree with you I hate how finger printy they are. Good looking 25 think that might be my favorite from the run:thumbsup:
I can not think where I got the idea for this picture ;)

looks pretty good with the eo mod too :D

Hope you’re enjoying the snow, Jack. My brother sent me a video of my niece sledding (or is it sledging there?) down a little hill behind their house. We’ve had some nice above-freezing days here this past week, but we’re supposed to get another big snow tomorrow and Tuesday.

Those go together quite well; similar jigging, blade shape, and lined bolsters. Nice pair!

I like the Goldenrod jigged bone more than I expected to, but I think the Unicorn Ivory Acrylic was my favorite from that run.

I’m a big fan of an EO notch on the #25 spearpoint, but I only have one. The notch was done by Bob (BigBiscuit). I’m hesitant to try one myself, but maybe I’ll give it a go some day.

Thanks Barrett, I was out for a short hike yesterday, but forgot to put the memory card back in my camera, so no pics unfortunately :( Yes, it's 'sledging' here, hope your niece is enjoying herself :) Keep warm my friend, and good luck with the house hunting too

It turned out very well. I used my usual sourdough recipe, and baked covered for the time that I usually would have steamed the oven. I love Nifebrite too!
