What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Good looking Svörd. :thumbsup: Did you swap out the scales with something different, or modify the scales that were on it?
Thanks, I made the scales out of Micarta and tried to figure out how to do some jigging.

Nice to see that one :) I haven't carried mine much this year, but think it's a very decent knife, particularly in cold weather. I thought I might find the tang a bit 'pokey', but as I usually carry it in a coat pocket, it's not been a problem. I always fancied one of the Michael Morris friction folders we used to see a lot of here at one time, but don't know if I'd have actually taken to one :thumbsup:

Hope everyone is having a great weekend, and that Sunday goes well too :) I'm carrying my 2017 Guardians Lambsfoot today, along with a GEC #66 :thumbsup:

I think that Svord was getting tired of sitting in a box, it needed a little fresh air and sunshine.
I too have admired those Moore friction folders but I fear the blade stock is way too thick for my taste.

It has been way to long since I took Betty out.

The stag on your knife is stupendous, Leslie, and the camp fire analogy is fantastic! :eek::thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Those ebony Churchills look superlative in any setting! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: I wonder if the Churchills will win an Oscar tonight?? :D

Priceless !! A true blessing and I wish you many more :) I feel of what you speak....I finished 2 carousels of dad's ( the family ) slides. I hope it puts a smile on his face. He really wanted it done and wants to flush out the captions next week. He just turned 90 not long ago. I sure hope he does not have too many more boxes full...lol
:thumbsup::thumbsup::D:D

This is the third day in a row with this one.View attachment 860129
Travman Travman , I admire that knife :thumbsup:, but I like the photo even more!! :cool::cool::thumbsup: The blue sky, the bare trees, the light (especially on that smooth black bark) are all incredible together! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Fresh off the stone and strop.
Those edges GLEAM, Joshua!! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

We’re out of our house for a month, during major renovations, so I baked in cast iron for the first time, in our temporary quarters. I haven’t swapped out my knife from the other day.

Playin' with a couple Camilli at my desk this morning. Early 2000s square bolster, and early 1980s round bolster.

That round bolster model with the "tulip" shield (probably not the real term for that shield style, but it looks like a tulip to me, and I'm hoping to see some real tulips in 6 weeks or so) is enchanting, Jeff! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Nice small whittler in stag, easy carry ;)

Hey! Welcome back, Shane; good to see your post! :):thumbsup::cool:

Chores and house hunting today. These two are my companions.

Black and Red stick in my head! ;):rolleyes: Captivating combo, Dylan! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: I hope the house hunt is successful soon! :thumbsup:

Today's EDC
Cuatro rojo mojo, deltaboy! :cool::thumbsup:;)

Have these in my pocket today

Please forgive me for remembering .

Praiseworthy pair of small stag folders, Harry! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: And thanks for the Yellowstone pics; coincidentally, my wife just presented my with a package of frozen bison burgers that she picked up recently at Trader Joe's! ;):D

Thanks, Rat, they're both really fine knives, with good firm 6 pulls and plenty of snap. It's funny, in spite of the fact that they don't look at all "real," the stag jigged delrin knives float my boat a lot more than the sawcut delrin do. I love the Uncle Henrys as well, both folding and fixed blades.
Interesting point, Jeff. :thumbsup::thumbsup: I have no idea where this "taste" comes from, but I think I sometimes judge the quality of stag covers by how closely they resemble Uncle Henry's Staglon! :eek::rolleyes::confused:

5K Qs 5K Qs it’s pretty big lol . Don’t have the dimensions handy but I must say it carry’s well in a leather slip . Really can’t tell the difference in pocket compared to much smaller ones :thumbsup:
2 more on the way I like it that much :D
Thanks for the mini-review, TheFactor TheFactor ! :):thumbsup:

That's some lemony happiness there!
Nice pair of yellas, Gary.
...
Thanks Gary, the 85 is a fantastic knife and I realized I needed to carry it more often. A fine duo you choose:thumbsup:
Great choice, Gary. Love the yellow Delrin Case models!
Thanks for your positive reactions to my yellow Delrin Case knives, guys! :)

GT, the red Cadet doesn't leave the house, but I've had a cold all week, and since I'm retired, I've just been wearing sweats around the house. It still looks new, since it never shares a pocket with anything else.
I really like that classic red Alox color! :cool::cool::thumbsup: Hope you shake the cold soon!

#25 Barlow in my pocket this weekend.

I can not think where I got the idea for this picture ;)

@Anothername , @btb01 , @oldmanrunning , fantastic "checkered" jigging on all 4 of those knives; a veritable jolly jigging jamboree! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup::D

I'm kind of behind myself GT, thought I'd better split my post! :eek: ;) :thumbsup:

Yeah, snow is quite a novelty here these days! :D Though I suspect the novelty is wearing off for many folks :eek: Thanks for the kind words on my Ankermesser my friend, and on my orange and black hiking knives :) Nice Yellers there :) :thumbsup:

Thanks, Jack. :) That photo of your Guardians Lambsfoot is VERY festive, and I get a hopeful, party feeling whenever you use the phrase "2017 Guardians Lambsfoot"! ;):thumbsup::p

Since there is no sun today, the hat and the knife are resting!!!

Everything needs a rest now and then! :D I like the look of your straw hat. I haven't had a hat like that in at least 50 years, but when I was a boy on my family's dairy farm, I wore a hat like that all summer in the fields!

Looks like a lot of 25’s are coming out today, so I will tote mine. Little dog for little knife. Have a Blessed Sunday everyone.
...
Sweet 25, Leslie! :thumbsup::cool: And how many dogs do you have?? Have I seen at least 3 in your recent photos?

Magnifying main for antiquing/garage-saling. Tiny knife for places like Costco, where I was once bristled at for opening my BSA folding fork.
Imperial Ireland NRA jack because it was cheap and because the NRA is going through a difficult time. Nice thin blades but they need sharpening.

Quite a diversified line-up, Jer! :cool::thumbsup::cool: And you didn't even mention the lambsfoot with the glorious wing on the handle! :eek::cool::cool::thumbsup:

Well, last night, actually...

I haven't carried my Tinker in ages, but I thought it might come in handy while working at a spaghetti supper funraiser for scholarships. Turned out I was right because I needed to cut several pieces of cardboard to size to serve as backing for some posters. Later, my Peanut and I got into a kind of duel with a guy with a ZT as to which knife could do a better job of cutting tape. I think I won!

Of course, I did take the opportunity to say (in my best Australian accent), "That's not a noife, this is a noife!" :p

Steve, that's quite the carving you've done with that fine knife!! :thumbsup::thumbsup::D

As always, these were with me last week, and they'll be with me this week as well:

Thanks GT! Your quadruple looks well matched.

Green Banana Bone Northfield, along with an old Swedish steel SSA out of Eskilstuna that I used for a nice slow shave this morning. An old edge out of the old country. The cat was very comically curious about my steel this evening.

Ha! That's great! :D

Interesting. Where I come from a sledge was a low runnerless vessel for hauling stones and such heavy things on the grass without having to lift them into a wagon bed. Or break the wagon, I suppose.
I have a photo somewhere of one in use.
I think they're also called stone boats, though. Better check my Eric Sloane.

Judging by the weight of the thing, and the fact my dad brought it home from work, that might have been what we had as kids! :eek: :D The word 'toboggan' was also commonly used here when I was a kid, though it seems to have now slipped out of fashion :thumbsup:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toboggan

By coincidence, the town I am going to today had a nearby toboggan ride in Victorian times, which ran on rails on the hillside. Folks went up on the miniature railway, and came down by toboggan. THe slide closed in 1900 following an accident, but the railway still runs (and features occassionally in my knife pics ;) ) :thumbsup:

Yes indeed, his fixed blades look to be good value. I have never had a file knife, but I like the idea of them. Great to see Betty :) :thumbsup:

Thank you Mr. GT, I'm glad there are still some who make straw hats, as they are very useful for the sun!!!

Beautiful vista, Senhor Pinto! :cool::cool::thumbsup: Is that taken from your personal drone?? ;)

Unfortunately not, but it is a place that I like a lot, especially being on the esplanade to have a coffee, next to that swimming pool that is seen next to the water of the river...

Nice pair of yellas, Gary.

All the talk about friction folders the other day made me want to carry my Svord Mini Peasant. I have been thinking about cutting the tang down a little but haven't committed yet.
26731174908_284f8f337d_b.jpg

I've never been too excited about the peasant but your mod always catches my eye. Very nice mod job!

I don't miss the days when you had to enjoy yourself sitting bolt upright in a jacket and tie. ((Not that we haven't gone too far the other way.) I'm old, I had to say that.)
Our local toboggan resort is still open. $18 per day per soul, toboggans and tubes (whatever they are) provided.

Woa, knife content: carrying these today.:D
