Lovely!

Is that a #48? :D They sure are great knives

Yes sir it is. It’s from the first run in 2014 of ebony improved. There was an SFO run identical to these last year. It really is a great pattern. Size is perfect and blade combo is perfect. When I carry it, I wonder why i carry anything else. But then, I think that with many of my knives lol

Thank you for the compliments, Stuart. I love the old bone in many of the knives you have been posting lately and the two you are carrying today are real beauties. I also appreciate your ability to capture such details in your pictures, showcasing everything about the subject knives, from their imperfections to their hidden beauty. You do a tremendous job at capturing their overall character.

Wonderful old sawcut on that Barlow, Jack! Just wonderful.

I have these two with me today. A big one and a little one. My daughter has been curious about my knife photography so she wanted me to take a picture of one of her knives (given to her by her grandfather) and she wanted it to have flowers in it (of course). She is also expecting me to give her a report on whether or not anyone had anything to say about her knife at the end of the day.... So go nuts, but please be gentle, she is only 9. :D

Your daughter has a lovely knife, a cool new hobby to share with dad, and a wonderful memento from her grandfather! With any luck, she will decide that is the only knife she ever needs...or not...
Hope to see more it in the future.

Both the knife and the photo are very classy. Her idea to add flowers to the pic was a great one!

Yep, hot the same feeling everytime I carry it :D I always wonder why so few people seem to carry them; it's one of my favorite patterns

I'm carrying my late grandfather's Case Trapper today. It's not that old from what I can tell (made in 2007 or so), but he used the heck out of it until he passed a couple years ago. I recently started carrying it daily. I've never been a traditional knife kind of guy, but as far as a cutting tool goes, it does the job just as well as a "tacticool" modern knife. This knife has changed my perception of what kind of knife I need for daily tasks. My grandpa used to say something to the effect of, "You don't need a lock on your knife, you've just gotta be smarter than the blade." I love having this little guy in my pocket.

@SteveC Another fine jack, Steve. You are on a roll, bud.

Thank you, Dylan. I try to show what I see in the knife and, as I've learned, a wart can be a beauty mark (or a tick). More warts to come, I think. But speaking of beauties, your daughter's lovely lady's leg knife looks like red licorice. What a great beginning of her collection. It is so pretty that it embarrasses those lovely flowers in the picture. Please tell he "thank you" for sharing it with us. (Nice pic, Dad.)

Thanks for the compliment Stuart! You have some absolutely stunning old knives my friend! :D
Thank you, Ron. I've been blessed to receive some nice knives; I need to share some of their less lovely colleagues, too.

D DwightC Your grandfather put you on a good path with a very nice knife and a bit of solid wisdom. I think that I would have liked him; I know that I like his views on knives.

@Travman , @Half/Stop , @Jack Black , joeradza joeradza , @pmek5 , and others - there are a lot of great knives popping up. I got so jacked over the jacks posted that I collected a couple of capable Ka-Bar codgers as carry-jacks today: a medium (3 5/8") jack in jigged green (?) bone and a large (4 1/8") jack in jigged brown bone, both from the 1923-1950 period. They are sturdy - the large is 5/8" wide.
