What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

The prettiest knife posted, EVER!:thumbsup:

Carried these 2 today .

Harry
Harry, I am glad seeing the 25 get some pocket time. I am happy I was able to get it to someone that appreciates it.
----
Today I am carrying my Lloyd Sowbelly (and I have been since it landed). It is an odd feeling, now that I it in hand, after near resigning myself to only seeing it in other folks pictures.

I think I have to contact someone about my now shelved Winchester Sowbelly...

Thank you for the compliments, Stuart. I love the old bone in many of the knives you have been posting lately and the two you are carrying today are real beauties. I also appreciate your ability to capture such details in your pictures, showcasing everything about the subject knives, from their imperfections to their hidden beauty. You do a tremendous job at capturing their overall character.

Wonderful old sawcut on that Barlow, Jack! Just wonderful.

I have these two with me today. A big one and a little one. My daughter has been curious about my knife photography so she wanted me to take a picture of one of her knives (given to her by her grandfather) and she wanted it to have flowers in it (of course). She is also expecting me to give her a report on whether or not anyone had anything to say about her knife at the end of the day.... So go nuts, but please be gentle, she is only 9. :D

Beautiful pictures of some pretty nice knives as usual for you Dylan . I assume that is your new #43 and you make it look so nice . The real Show Stopper is the Leg Knife . That just caught my eye and I had to show it to my wife . She has a GEC French Kate and I think the Emperial looks as nice as it does .
Thanks for the show my friend . I think you should put those pictures in the Red Alerts thread if you have not yet done so .

I am very happy for you to finally get your Grail knife Sir , and it does look very nice . I am also very happy that you enabled me to have your #25 . It fits into my accumulation just like it was made for it and it is a very nice little knife to carry . It is also now made of Unobtainium . Thank you again .

Harry

Thanks Jack and same to you my friend! :) That is some marvelous sawcut bone on your old IXL Barlow!:cool::D

Thanks Ron, a generous gift from Charlie @waynorth :)

One year ago today, this little ball of trouble maker was born. I have a knife for him, with a story that I won’t bore you with again. But here he was and here he is. Thanks @Jsega51

Happy Birthday to your little lad :)

I'm heading south (Mallorca) for a week with lovely mrs. Finn. My daily carry during this time will consist of a Swiss army knife and Otter brass lockback (since both are stainless I don't have to baby them too much). See you!

Have a great time

Laugh all you want, the Mikov fish knife is at least a century old and rich in history in the Czech Republic — where they use it for mushroom picking. Seems like a fine knife to tote on a rainy spring day.

I love fish knives! :D I always had one in my fishing vest as a kid, and thanks to @r8shell, I carry one in my wallet Today :)

Chinese Fish Knife (3) 1.jpg

@Travman , @Half/Stop , Jack Black Jack Black , @joeradza , @pmek5 , and others - there are a lot of great knives popping up. I got so jacked over the jacks posted that I collected a couple of capable Ka-Bar codgers as carry-jacks today: a medium (3 5/8") jack in jigged green (?) bone and a large (4 1/8") jack in jigged brown bone, both from the 1923-1950 period. They are sturdy - the large is 5/8" wide.

Thank you very much my friend :) I remain amazed that you can take such wonderful photos on your phone! Fantastic to see your daughter's knife, she's a lucky girl :) Well done granddad :)

I always like to see your I*XL Jack!:thumbsup:

I carried my Ulster Boy Scout knife today. Born 1923-1926, it has aged well.

Thanks a lot Dean, that's a wonderful Scout :) It HAS aged well hasn't it, love the quality of the shield detail

Always a treat to see Betty :)

Smashing Duane

Enjoying the sunshine with my new micarta 43 before the rain comes back tomorrow.

Somehow my trusty Soddy always finds her way into my pocket...

Congrats on the handsome new 43 and admiration for the well-used classic Sodbuster, @Karl Meyer !!:cool::thumbsup: (And a belated welcome to The Porch. :))

Out in the park this afternoon I flipped over a small chunk of plywood on a slope next to the trail that I had walked by umpteen times in the past year and was pleased to see this baby Garter curled up catching some Zs.
He makes for a cool prop for the MM IMO.
(what can I say..I like snakes)
X6rR7rH.jpg
I'm not a big fan of snakes, but I enjoy your snake pics, mykel!:cool::thumbsup:

Um..no, it's a knot picker, not a bone picker GT.;):D
Works great on knots though.
I obviously know nothing about the jigging procedure, but I was incredibly impressed by the strength of your fingers if you could use that little knot picker to dig chunks of material out of your Dole knife!:rolleyes:

Had this old Boker with me today...

An old Kent barlow today...

iqg2tXC.jpg
Another pair of superb old Barlows, Wayne!:thumbsup::thumbsup: That bolster stamp on the Boker is new to me.

Gorgeous knife, FBC!:thumbsup::cool: Is that your stockman, or a clip/sheep jack, kind of like a 93OT?

Pleasing pair, Jack!:cool::thumbsup: I'm a bit worried about your physician if you must bring your own medical tools!:p

Stellar stag lambsfoot, including the cool EO notch!:cool::thumbsup:

...
Thanks Gary! :) Nice Buck! How do you rate those in comparison to your RR stockman knives?

Today is all about the wood for me, East Indian Rosewood that is! :D

Thanks, GT. I agree with @Half/Stop about that fine looking Buck Cadet.

Voluptuous Viper, Ron!:thumbsup::thumbsup: Thanks for the Buck comments, guys. :) My Buck 373 is OK, but I think I prefer RR stock knives. I'm not a huge fan of the Buck saber grind. I think the RR jigged bone looks better than the covers on this 373 (not even sure the Buck covers are bone). And I'm not a steel expert, but I thought I've read somewhere that Buck's 420J2 is inferior to Rough Rider's 440A.

...
Thanks gents but paying the price today for yesterday's chocolate fest

5K, I've always liked those army issue camp knives. You'd think given the number of U.S armed forces personnel that have been stationed here in the UK over the years they'd be more common. but I've never come across a single one.
Thanks, Gary! Gorgeous Marbles utility knife. These were all over the place when I was in the Army (most of the 1970s). I never got one in service, so I had to buy mine later. :(
...
I decided on these two today. Kinda like a stockman in two parts.:)

Thanks for the comments about military camp knives, guys. :) Mine is just an inexpensive Marbles replica, and unlike my other Marbles knives, the camp knife is not very well made. Bottle opener has lots of play, and the spear main is the only blade with good snap. Dean, your 2-piece stockman is very cool! ;):thumbsup::cool:

...
You're right about the Bull Nose silhouette. It's pretty close to a mirror image of the Farm & Field #47 Hay'n Helper.
I have some photos showing remarkable-to-me mirror imaging between Case SBJr and SBJ.

A wooden worker for Wooden Wednesday work outside today (between rain showers).

NYKC Walden 1890-1932 and still solid. (The dates are derived from when that tang stamp was used and when the Guano Company was in business.)
- Stuart
Such a cool old knife, Stuart! Heavy duty!!:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Thanks. It took a lot of character to be a guano guy, especially back when guano was going great guns.
- Stuart
Gee!! :D:D

Splendid knife, Leslie, but those strawberries have grabbed my attention!!:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: Are those already in season in your area?

...
I went with this rather sizable choice today.

Heavy metal, Dylan!! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

These today

What a notable pair of stag beauties, Harry!!:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Western Wednesday !

That's a stunning photo of a fine knife, Steve!:thumbsup::cool: At first I thought the background was white clouds and blue sky!:cool:

My Free Choice Knife of the Week is a Böker stockman I won in a recent Will Power GAW. Did I already show this earlier this week? No worries if I did, since it deserves the attention!
