Very nice my friend!
Thanks for the compliment Gary!Voluptuous Viper, Ron!Thanks for the Buck comments, guys.
My Buck 373 is OK, but I think I prefer RR stock knives. I'm not a huge fan of the Buck saber grind. I think the RR jigged bone looks better than the covers on this 373 (not even sure the Buck covers are bone). And I'm not a steel expert, but I thought I've read somewhere that Buck's 420J2 is inferior to Rough Rider's 440A.
I haven't carried this little gem in a while.

Every time I see a Tony Bose or a Reese Bose I think, "Wow, what a work of art!" but then I see the price tag and I think, "How could anyone bring themselves to use such an expensive knife!?"
It isn't that I doubt their usefulness or sturdiness, but that's a lot of money (for me, anyway) to toss in a pocket and use regularly. Gosh they are pretty to look at, though. I'm sure they are a joy to hold as well.
I hear ya. Although, I used to say the same thing about dropping $200-400 on a nice custom. It's a slippery slope, indeed!
That one is a Case Bose collab Coffin Jack so the guilt of carry so to speak is negated a bit. I will say though that the quality of this one is perfect! Nearly indistinguishable from custom. I get what your saying though. I see that R. Bose Eureka in the sale forum and my heart literally flutters, but man! I'd use it if I had it but I just can't get my head around spending 4 figures on any knife these days. I've done it before but I had a lot of inner conflict and I don't know that I can do it again. Plus I like a little variety. The Case Bose Collabs are a perfect blend for my high end cravings and practical sensibilities.Every time I see a Tony Bose or a Reese Bose I think, "Wow, what a work of art!" but then I see the price tag and I think, "How could anyone bring themselves to use such an expensive knife!?"

Bingo! That's what finally got me. I sitting there staring at this gorgeous $1700 knife thinking that I can sell it, buy a CRK with zero guilt and spend the rest on cool stuff for my family. This happened a little over 4 years ago when I got my oldest daughter into alpine ski racing. Something had to give. Ski racing ain't cheap!Wow, I couldn't even tell it was a Case/Bose. That makes it even more impressive! I'm sure there would be notable differences upon close inspection, but that makes it a worthy imitation for sure. I think I'd sooner drop a grand or two on a gun before I did on a knife. But as it is, I'm more likely to drop a grand taking the family on a vacation(gotta have the right priorities!)
Pleasing pair, Jack!I'm a bit worried about your physician if you must bring your own medical tools!
Stellar stag lambsfoot, including the cool EO notch!
Voluptuous Viper, Ron!Thanks for the Buck comments, guys.

Thanks for the comments about military camp knives, guys.Mine is just an inexpensive Marbles replica, and unlike my other Marbles knives, the camp knife is not very well made. Bottle opener has lots of play, and the spear main is the only blade with good snap. Dean, your 2-piece stockman is very cool!
I have some photos showing remarkable-to-me mirror imaging between Case SBJr and SBJ.
Such a cool old knife, Stuart! Heavy duty!!
Gee!!
Splendid knife, Leslie, but those strawberries have grabbed my attention!!Are those already in season in your area?
Heavy metal, Dylan!!
What a notable pair of stag beauties, Harry!!
That's a stunning photo of a fine knife, Steve! At first I thought the background was white clouds and blue sky!

My Free Choice Knife of the Week is a Böker stockman I won in a recent Will Power GAW. Did I already show this earlier this week? No worries if I did, since it deserves the attention!
