They only come in fixed blade, right?Picked this up from G.L. Drew a little while back. Decided to sand the Ash handle and refinish it with some walnut danish oil. It’s forged from 1085 steel (1lb head).
Having a fire tonight so I used it for the first time. Worked great!

Have a good week folks![]()
On any other knife I would be inclined to agree with you but there is something about the shape and swedge on this spey that just has me in awe. Any other time give me a punch in place of the spey anytime.That is a great knife. And a great spey. But I just wish it would be a wharncliff to replace either the spey or the pen. I’d seek one out then! Ideally, for me, I’d keep the pen but I know everyone is different
Thanks, There was a time not very long ago that I would have said this whittler was my favorite Black Box pattern but now I am torn between the Sowbelly and this stockman style whittler.flatblackcapo That BB Winchester whittler has me whistlin' Dixie!
They sure did know how to jig bone back in the day!I'm totin two elder jacks today, so I'll not wear them out (nor me). An Overland Germany (located in Los Angeles, CA from 1951-1953!!) equal end jack with half sunk joints and a Schrade boys knife (from 1904-1946) that is missing its bail.

Looks like the Seahorse has some staying power.Case Seahorse vintage stag in the watch pocket, very classy knife;

Had these two with me today.
This is not the best moment for Case cutlery. I took this knife with me because it irritates me and wanted to tell about it. I wanted to like it, but no success. The fitting of the knife is below par, the blade droops down when open because the spring stands proud, therefore pushing the blade down. The spring is weak with very little snap. I'm going to trash this knife, when I got it I really should have had to send it back. Back then I just did not know better.

I’d send it back. At least try. Very sexy knife. Too sexy to just toss it
Outstanding stag 73, Senhor Pinto!![]()
Both excellent knives, but the single blade really caught my attention today!![]()
