What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I was hoping that the flat light from an overcast sky would allow this knife to glow gold glare-free. Instead, it dulled the glow to a flat brass. And what appear to be flaking spots on the covers are, in "the real world", deflections of light from irregularities under the surface. Oh, well, it's what I'm carrying today, so I'm stuck with this rendition (may try again on a clearer day). A small toothpick from Belknap Hardware & Manufacturing Co. (1904-1968):

Need a double like with some Ry Cooder!

Mitch beat me to it.
Ever see the movie Missouri Breaks?
Ry did the sound track.

And that is a very cool old toothpick!

The fat lady has sung, but that 48 might assuage some of the fears about elk in the BF polling!
Many thanks Gary:thumbsup: Actually, it's more practical than you might think! Obviously I use it around the garden, that scythe like blade excels at opening sacks of feed or fertilizer, sharpening pointed sticks and tackles opening up large oranges, melon or apples too. Comfortable in the hand. It is beautifully finished too, my only concern is sharpening it...could be tricky o_O Otherwise, I can absolutely recommend this knife

Brilliant trio you show, but get that PRUNER TODAY!! You deserve one:cool::D

Regards, Will

The only way I try to sharpen hawksbills is with round crock sticks, or old school bottom of a coffee cup.

Nice knives today, folks!

@joeradza
Alan, Your Lloyd "Howling Wolf" is off the chart!

With me today.

Thanks, Jeff. I do like the medium toothpicks. Yes, I saw/heard the movie. Ry has done several soundtracks, I believe. As I mentioned to mitch4ging mitch4ging , I think that i Ry's newest release (oddly, although the liner notes are all in English, the title/artist/selections all pop up in Japanese in the digital display).

Dean, you must have ESP! How did you know I had cool canoes? Well, I guess i always have my canoe of the week, but how did you know I picked up a Buck canoe at Malwart yesterday and put it in my pocket??

Here's my Canoe of the Week, a white smooth bone shieldless Rough Rider:

And here's the Buck canoe I've had for only a day about which Dean had an eerie premonition!

Excellent Canoes, Gary. The RR is gorgeous! Congrats on the Buck; and to think you can just walk into a Walmart to get one!

Late getting to posting today. For frivolous Fisherman Friday, I'm rolling with this Remington R 1615 Fisherman (by Camillus 1988). This knife shows the cruel curse of celluloid covers, as all of the metal was covered with rust when I found it. The shield looked like an old penny. Flitz, 0000 steel wool, and elbow grease got it back to a respectable condition, but remnants of rust remain where covers and bolsters meet and on the backspring. Stored in its box for who knows how long, the gases from the candy stripe celluloid even deteriorated the wrapping paper in the box. Pretty covers, but certainly not worth the risk, particularly for a fishing knife. The enclosed owners sheets states:"Properly cared for, this knife will give you a lifetime of excellent service." Well, the blade still opens and cuts.
