As the handle is horn, it seems to shrink, so the pivot needs to be tightened. There is enough friction when fully open but when closed not enough. I need to carry this in a pocket sheath to avoid accidents.

The same sometimes with Opinels. The wood shrinks in dry weather and expands when humid. I have tried to remember to bathe Opinels in oil occasionally and this seems to help, dipping the knife in oil up to and over the pivot. Also just spraying or dripping oil in the pivot area and leaving to soak and dry helps. I don't know if this would be a good idea with horn.Nice knife, but this is the big problem of knives that close with friction as is the case of most Portuguese knives...
