It's thrifty Thursday for me. I picked this up for about $10 at Big R about three years ago and I seldom carry it. It's 440C stainless, easy to sharpen, carries easy as it's so slim, looks good (though the scales are cracked), locks up tight, and cuts everything I need to cut most of the time. Sarge knives are fairly cheap and a little overpriced for what you get, but this one, at discount for the broken scales, was a good buy.

I put this up in the newest addition thread,. But I put it on my belt as soon as I got to the parking lot, so guess I'm a totin it. Had to stop at the big "W" store this morning, Couldn't resist it anymore :D
Congrats on the Buck! :thumbsup::thumbsup: (I'm not a fixed blade guy myself, but I'm a canoe guy all day, everyday. ;))

I was doing some edge testing with my ffg's yesterday. Realised it made a good picture for the traditional forum. :)

That's a valued, venerable pair!! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Thank you GT. I certainly fell into the luck pond with that one :)
:):thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thank you, GT! I love the stain on your Opinel #8. I need to get back to my modded #8 one of these days. That fish knife is HUUUUGE!
Thanks, Shawn. :) I think of it more as a "picnic knife" than a "fish knife". The saw-like blade is too fine-toothed to be a scaling blade, but it can do the job on a steak or a watermelon! ;)

Hello 5K Qs,
I think this odor was a mix between the GEC oil and the fresh dyeing of my new sheath.
Now it's less uncomfortable . I think it will disappear :):thumbsup:

Thanks to have asked :)
Â
Glad to hear that the smell is fading. :thumbsup::)

Happy Wooden Wednesday.
