What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Now, that's a fantastic day at the flea market. The Barlow must have brought you luck!
Thank you very much r8shell r8shell . Maybe it was the Barlow . The guy who had the Easy Open had no clue as to what the easy open notch was for and the old gentleman who had the Ulster also did not know what he had . I have started cleaning up the easy open one and just happened to think of other persons who buy knives that need a very good cleaning and your name came to mind . I will most likely spend more time on cleaning it than we spent in looking for it .
The Ulster , on the other hand , needs nothing other oiling .

Your easy opener looks a lot like the Imperial that @t.willy sent me recently.

I do have an Imperial and a Pal Easy Open that both look very much like the one that I just got , but I do not think that the newer one is either yet . It is for sure longer than the Pal and the Pins on the Imperial look much bigger in Diameter . But I will look into any other differences later . Right now the newer one is getting an Oil Soak on the Blade Rust .
Edited : Will post a picture later of all 3 together .

Had my old 77 Barlow in my pocket today when we went to the Flea Market at Elkhorn , Wi.

Was able to find all of this for just a total of $26 . Brass harness Hanes for $7 , $4 for an Easy Open Probably Camillus , and $15 for an Ulster Chraftsman Camp type knife with a Punch .
Very cool finds, great old knives. I've seen those hame knobs turned into cane toppers

Thanks, Jack, particularly for the link to that fascinating history (e.g., the first show-room of any type in Sheffield causes crowds). Now that the French Grand Prix is concluded, I have some reading to do.

Glad it's of interest Stuart :)

Feelin' rich. Rollin' in Jeffersons with these two :D:D

:D

We’re hanging out at home today. We’ve just finished our lunch which consisted of mixed beans and ham that cooked in the crock pot since 4:00am this morning. Accompanied by oven roasted potatoes and a fresh baked pone of cornbread! :D After a while we’re going to have some peaches that we put up last year during the local season and a piece of angel food cake to soak up the juice from the peaches! It really doesn’t get much better as far as I’m concerned! I’m thinking as I type this that I really should have taken a photo. ;) Oh well maybe tonight with the leftovers! :D My knife friend for today is my 48 Northfield Improved Trapper. I hope everyone is enjoying the day as much as we are!

Harry Ole Red is looking good my friend! That's quite a haul from the flea market there buddy! :D

Couple of groovy Queens, Stuart; looks like you and Jeff have got everything covered, meteorologically!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks, GT.

Thanks, Stuart. :) I gave up cigars almost 4 years ago, but I always smoked cheap wood-tipped cigars, anyway, that didn't need trimming. ;)

Wood-tipped ain't cigars, but close.

Amazing condition for a knife that's at least 140 years old!!:cool::thumbsup:

Jack Black Jack Black 's later educational postings suggests that the dating is questionable. Old, but not so ancient, I think.

Nice simple bar shield complements that knife very well. Simple shield, elegant knife.

Thanks, Alan.

I would delete that post as evidence of outright theft. More seriously, that's some great shopping!

Glad it's of interest Stuart :)

Immeasurable, Jack.

Love the Chip Chop.
Saturday I finished cleaning up and rehanging an old Winchester hatchet head my sun had brought home from the flea market. Pleasant way to spend a few hours.

Modded tl29 in micarta for me today,

And, since I think we will be trying to get a piece of equipment running today, a SAK, just in case.
