I'm fore seeing this trapper getting allot of pocket time

Both those old bones are incredible!! So smooth, and the color are just lovely!:eek::thumbsup:

@mitch4ging Thanks man! I actually see some similarity with the bone on my knife and Stuart’s D Duckdog . Either mine has deeper jigging or his is more pocket worn.

The teardrop is one of my favorite patterns and the dimensions of yours is outstanding. If only the blade wasn't so broad. I prefer a slimmer one, but I'll make an exception for that Cramer.

Thanks for the nice words and yes I agree with you, I’m glad Brent didn’t make the blade too broad.

The look my wife gives me when I “show and tell” which knife I’m carrying for the day. (From a 1928 Catalogue)

I just showed your post to my wife. She smiled.
This morning she caught me intensely going through the cigar boxes and said "are you sure you've got the right one, Jeff?"

:D:thumbsup: When Jeff is right, he's right! ;)

Oldies/Goodies, Jeff! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

My Bailed non-SAK of the Week is a Marbles Workman Camp Knife (thanks, Mike) that doesn't even have a bail, but it should :rolleyes::

Nick, I think that your very fine Schrade is from 1904-1941. The NYK Co fish knife that I posted is from 1856-1931, so I'll go with "more pocket worn", i.e., yours is in better shape. Here's a 3 blade Imperial senator from 1935-1945 and a Union Cutlery Co. office knife (with erasure blade) from 1911-1951 that may give a better comparison, particularly as to bolsters.

D Duckdog Stuart yours is definitely more pocket worn since it could be almost a century older!! I love these 2 knives you posted above, just beautiful. The bone is excellent!! So good.

Thanks, GT. As you know, I'm learning about the knives that I find as I dig through the boxes and cases that my stepfather left to me - find a knife, research it, take a picture, and post it. It's a constant chore, but i love it (so far). Those RR's are nice, particularly the canoe, but the Marble's is one that I could work with.

Stuart,
Sorry for the loss of your stepfather. It is really nice that he left you the knives. I am new to knife collecting and being able to do what you are doing now would be a very fun and educational thing to do. I bet you will love every minute of it. I don't know how long he was your stepfather, but I bet you are learning a lot about him from seeing his collection. Keep up the "fun" work!
Larry
