Your cup is empty, but I really like that knife. We've seen quite a few of them being toted lately, but this one speaks to me.

I believe the “offending” picture is part of this poster’s signature, and not one that is intentionally being posted in the wrong forum.
The facts that I see it in all of his/her posts, and that it is absent from your having quoted the post supports that theory.
I’m sorry, boss, but I think the ranch boss that is posted, qualifies, doesn’t it?
Edit: i don’t see his signature on mobile.

Still plenty of options with just these 2, although to be honest there'd be the same amount of options if it was just the scout, just fewer blades. But what's the fun in that?
Slim and sunny, Stuart!...

Distinguished dusky duo, Joshua!
Pair to pocket proudly, Jack!
Handsome congress, but that etch does look "off"!61 today. Crooked etch?

Couple of charmers, Ron!These two this morning.

Always cool to see a palindrome! It’s the album cover from The American jazz musician Miles Davis
“Live Evil” .
How do you decide whether to carry this one or the ebony Calf Roper, Paul??
Beautiful bonestag, Dean!
Valued variety, Shawn! The only base not covered today is a straight blade. Got a bit of wood, a bit of bone, bit of stainless, bit of carbon, bit of shiny, bit of patina, bit of fixed, bit of folding. It's a lot of bits making up some small knives.

Thanks for the link, Ken.As usual, GT, great eye for the detail! Samuel Winterbottom is credited with “inventing” the Winterbottom bone pattern. If you have any interest in the whole story, you can read it here.
I like the satin finish on the Barlow, Tom!
"Who's who" of "who's that"Thanks, GT. The list of makers of my limited supply of custom knives is a veritable "wno's who" of "who's that?".
... I really like both of your picks today, though I shudder a little at the use of such fine folders for food prep when perfectly adequate fixed bladed kitchen knives abound, but there are many adherents to the practice on the Porch, so maybe I'm missing something (other than the extra knife cleaning).

Great, glowing photo, Greg!Thank you very much, Jack and GT. I feel very fortunate to have it.
Today I'm totin' like it's 2017:

Thanks for the info and opinions, Dean.Thank you for your kind comments, Gary! To answer your questions:
My problem with the Case Caliber stockman thickness is specific only to those covers; they are significantly thicker than other models. The only exception is the Bone Stag stockman, it has the same thickness but only at the center - it tapers to the bolsters. Personal opinion only!
Regarding the blade coating on one of my teardrops, it is a type of PVD coating which helps protect the blade (that's how it is described). I just bought the knife because I thought it looked neat!
Thanks for asking!
Good to see your Imperial toothpick again. It must give you a sense of home as you make breakfast on vacation!![]()
That pic makes me think of the knife as a big cat (leopard or cheetah)!!
Cool Colonial Barlow!
Another terrific 26, Ken!
Magnificent modifications, Jeff!
Holy smokes!!Thanks! Standard blade config for stockman. Sheepsfoot and Spey secondaries. 3 7/8” cpm154 from Jim Dunlap. Half stops in all and pull is a perfect 5-6 on all.

That's a ravishing copperhead, Leslie!!!View attachment 967040 View attachment 967042 View attachment 967041
Warning! Stay away from the Case knife thread or you will you will find yourself spending a lot of money on vintage Case Redbone Knives! This is a 1965/69 Cooperhead, and it can hold its own against a modern GEC.

Resplendent red bone Robeson Barlow, Harry!Robeson Barlow made by Queen sold to me by @Augie . Like this knife a lot after looking for one for 4 years. Thank you very much John.

Boss bone on that knife, Jeff!No black today, just old bone.
High Carbon Steel Sears, Roebuck 4 blade cattle.
I guess you’d have to say this is a lefty, since the main opens to the left from the pile side...View attachment 967335View attachment 967344
Productive policy! No matter what other knife I'm carrying, there's always room for one of the the Alox Cadets in the other pocket.

That's a charismatic black/red combo, Ron!Today I’m Totin these two. A Northfield 73 in Blood Red Jig Bone and a Guardians Lambsfoot in Ebony.Have a great Friday!

With @Buzzbait on hiatus, we're depending on you, Tom, for a Camillus camp knife fix!
Another intriguing and informative lesson, Stuart! Thanks!Today, I'm totin' a Dean Roath saddlehorn lockback in Macassar ebony and brass. Dean Roath, of Baton Rouge, LA, was a veteran of 20 years in the U. S. Coast Guard, a retired employee of the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, and a member of the Knife Makers Guild. He died May 26, 2005 at age 62.

Thanks for trying, Gary.Sorry about that. There was a modern folder posted on numerous threads. In trying to clean it up I screwed it up. My apologies to all. I'm not going to attempt to get things back to what I planned on since I'll probably only make it worse.
Classic Case, Steve.
OK, Sorry about that. Moderator dumb attack. The posts were reported and I didn't look far enough to see that the modern folder was part of the signature line. It being a full size image threw me off. I guess the night before last overnight train from Chicago to Syracuse with no sleep is catching up with me. Thanks to American Airlines for canceling my flight home, forcing me to cab from O'Hare to Union Station and catch the Lake Shore Limited train home.Sorry about that. There was a modern folder posted on numerous threads. In trying to clean it up I screwed it up. My apologies to all. I'm not going to attempt to get things back to what I planned on since I'll probably only make it worse.
My bad! The modern folder is a signature line post, totally ok but kind of large for a sig line. My apologies to all! Thanks for trying, Gary.I didn't really want to see the pics in one member's sig each time he posted.
Very cool looking knife definitely something different. Thanks for sharing.Today, I'm totin' a Dean Roath saddlehorn lockback in Macassar ebony and brass. Slim and sunny, Stuart!Lot of similarities to the big toothpicks I've come to admire.
"Who's who" of "who's that"
I feel guilty having so many knives, especially if I don't even use them. Food prep is one of the few uses I can dig up (and I enjoy using my folders for food).![]()
Another intriguing and informative lesson, Stuart! Thanks!![]()
Here's another Imperial I grabbed for vacation; it's usually on my kitchen counter:
Thanks Jack!Love that red and black combo Ron![]()
