Praiseworthy premium scout, Tom! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

I don't think of myself as having a lot of Case knives, but my rotation schedule has me carrying 4 Case knives this week.
Stockman of the Week is a Case Harvest Orange Humpback (thanks, Mike):

Great carries GT! :thumbsup:

I've always like those AG Russell Scouts. I'd love to find one of the jigged bone versions one of these days, but they seem pretty hard to come by.

I've been carrying this #25 Barlow for a couple weeks now. I love these WLSTs! :D

Thanks Barrett, that is the only AG Russell scout I'd ever come across "in the wild", at a knife show. I had to ask the seller to hang on to it so I could make a run to an ATM to buy it :). Fantastic pic of the 25 :thumbsup:

I was gifted this TAYLOR 12OT yesterday and as much as I may think of this Schrade imitator like a red headed step child, the F&F and W&T are excellent so as a knife I really just cannot fault it.
It just seemed like a handy little knife, so I decided to try it for a bit and It'll be replacing that Wostenholm in my pocket for the week.

1973 Case 6207 Mini Trapper. I do not understand why they call these “mini.” At 3.5 inches with two blades, it is a substantial knife. I just cannot get enough of these vintage Case knives! The depth and variation of color in the bone is just incredible.

I can't explain it, but before 1970 that pattern was a dogleg jack. Here's one of mine from 1940-1964 (along with a 62042 small pen from 1965-1969).

Those are some handsom Case knives, fellas! :thumbsup::cool: The knife in my pocket today isn’t nearly as good looking, but it’s certainly a hard worker.

Stunningly beautiful!

Thanks, Ace. @Leslie Tomville made me do it.

38 Tidioute in Camel Bone

That is a beautiful knife, Will, nicely shown.

Grabbed this little guy off the dresser today :)

That pearl is electrifying, Chip.

Another day with “Stumpy”.

I can see why - what a sweet knife. It's all that it needs to be.

I've been at work since midnight. I figured that since I would only be sweating half of the day instead of the whole day, I'd give the stainless Case Mini Trapper the day off and slip some carbon steel into my pocket.

That's a handsome Craftsman. Who did the rich looking covers, Shawn?

Not counting the Schrade12OT in my guitar pick pocket, and the Wenger Esquire that’s on the keys in my LF pocket~ these are always there, but rarely mentioned~ I am carrying these Tue for Twosday~

And a terrific two they are, too, Jeff. Solid workers.

Camillus #70 today

Mighty nice, Steve.

kai76 kai76 Nick, you and Steve posted some pleasing looking classics today. Thanks.

Great micarta duo Dylan! :thumbsup:

That's a well matched pair there, Dylan. :thumbsup:

Thank you, fellas. A bit out of the norm for me in terms of cover preferences but the knives performed their duties admirably all the same.

I've been carrying this #25 Barlow for a couple weeks now. I love these WLSTs! :D

TDoeVDx.jpg

Thanks, Paul. I agree, the #25 is a surprisingly useful little knife. Compact, yet stout. :thumbsup:

The Zippo is my first solid brass Zippo, which my wife gave me on our anniversary back in March. I've been impressed with the patina that's developed with just a few months of use. It started out with a highly polished finish.

Terrific knives, Barrett! I also have a solid brass Zippo and it is one of my favorites. I replaced the standard insert with a torch so that i could use it with my cigars, it works quite handily.

Stunning Pic :cool: :thumbsup:

I'm struggling with my back this week, so won't be going far. Hanging onto this one :thumbsup:

Sorry to hear of your back troubles, Jack. I hope you are quickly on the mend, very fine knife choice.

I am going with a couple of black jacks today.

Back to a couple favorites. :)

I can see why they're favorites! :thumbsup::cool:

It does very well for such a little thing. I use the one on my Victorinox Hunter on game and it’s very capable.
Thanks for the Vic saw report. :)

Thanks GT! It certainly helps that I found an antique shop with a big bowl of vintage knives, I cherry picked 5 I really liked last time. I had to stop at 5 only because I didn't have more cash on hand at the time. Hopefully I can go there again this coming Saturday and rescue some more!
Sounds like a marvelous discovery! I hope you can find more good ones in the big bowl! :cool::thumbsup:

Attractive covers on that pair, Jack! :cool::thumbsup:

I’m going to try my best to not break a sweat today! ;) ...

Certainly no sweat to choose that duo, Ron! ;):thumbsup:

Pretty thin package overall, too.

I posted some detailed pics of "Stretch" Schrade in the Schrade sub-forum. ...
Turns out it's a type of muskrat, model 7803 3/4. Not modified. Thanks to the Schrade guys.
Called a Sportsman, according to @Codger_64 twelve and a half years ago.
He probably knows what the blade etch said.
Glad you got an ID on the knife. :cool::thumbsup: Single spring to make it so thin?

Not for at least 50 years! :eek: Neither job sounds like my first choice to start the week, but you've got some good equipment to help! :cool::thumbsup:

Continuing to carry scout knives in an effort to purge my desire to purchase another, a Primble today. I have to confess it really isn’t working :).

Praiseworthy Primble, Tom! :cool::thumbsup: As far as agonizing over whether to buy a knife you don't need, hasn't that horse been out of the barn for a LOOONG time (for almost everyone here)?? ;)

Today, I' totin' these two to ward off the Monday morning blues (working so far). A Winchester trapper (2904 1/2) and a Canal Street Cutlery "Pinch".

Smoooth, gleaming, colorful bone, Stuart!! :eek::thumbsup:

I'm carrying my Damascus Teardrop today.

That's very distinctive, Dean! :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Congrats on the enthralling ebony Churchill, Alan! :cool::thumbsup:

5K Qs 5K Qs Thanks. I have shown another stag 26. This one with a spear point. It resides with my brother-in-law now.

I also have this jigged bone version.

Thanks for jogging my memory, @Travman! :thumbsup::cool: Both are splendid!

...
Thank you, Gary; and yes, you nailed the knife ID! :thumbsup:

Four Case knives at once!! I've got a lot of Case knives, but I don't think I've ever carried four at-a-time. They are all great knives, too. The Humpback is a particularly cool design, the Peanut in stag is a treasure, the slimline Trapper is classy and the mini Trapper is just the right size. :thumbsup::thumbsup:
The ID of the muskrat was a no-brainer, since I planned to buy one at big Case dealer while we were vacationing; unfortunately, they didn't have one in stock. :( I totally agree with your succinct descriptions of my four Cases. :) (I forgot to count the SBJr I always carry, so 5 Case knives this week. :rolleyes:)

Thanks, GT. I have several Case knives, but none really like your four. I like them all, and the latter two are quite nice.
- Stuart
Yup. I love the blade choice on this knife and the way it's set up with the pulls on the same side.

Your totin' four knives of the same brand? I'm shocked :eek:
...
Nice grouping of Case you’ve got going this week.
Thanks pal, great Case line-up there :) :thumbsup:
...
Thanks, Gary. This particular Old Timer was gifted to me by a friend of my father’s so it’s pretty special to me.

(I really like your Humpback Stockman!)
Thanks for the kind comments about my Case quartet, Stuart & John & kfalk & Jack & Ratbert. :)

The yellow rectangle is just decorative. Imperial made a number of different patterns with the grooved black handles, some with and some without the yellow. I don't know why. :confused: I don't remember if it has liners and can't check, since the knife stayed in New York. :)
Thanks for the info. :) I have an Imperial Ireland stockman (thanks, Dave) with handles similar to yours, and no liners:

Very nice, Dave. :thumbsup::cool: (I think of a copperhead as halfway to a canoe. :rolleyes:)

Pioneer and Peanut are practically a perfect pair! :cool::thumbsup:

...I ordered it because I thought it would go well with these 2 :

Harry
Bone bonanza on that trio, Harry! :cool::thumbsup:

Thanks, Gary, it's traditional trapper size, same as the GEC #48 @ 3⅞" closed.

I'm carrying the ram's horn #73 today.

Thanks for the pearl trapper info, Jeff. :) Handsome 73! :cool::thumbsup:

The Bird Dog doing its job :D
Thanks for helping me with Ken's post, John. ;):cool: Sometimes I'm not smart enough to figure out the cool connections Ken sets up in his pics! :rolleyes:

Leslie & Stuart, no matter what you call them, those are some glorious red bone knives you fellows posted! :eek::thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: (Rough Rider calls their version a medium trapper, which seems better to me.)

Fantastic Farmer Foto!! :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Still carrying! Almost three quarters of a year behind now. :D
Congrats! 9 months carrying the same knife is unusual on The Porch! ;):thumbsup::cool:

These two today...

Fine pair of knives; the blue sheepsfoot Victorinox really appeals to me! :cool::thumbsup:

Handsome pen knife! :cool::cool:

Remarkable bone, Shawn!! :cool::cool::thumbsup: I'm not good at colors, but it's strange to me that your (and Glenn's) "amber jigged bone" looks almost nothing like Case's version or Rough Rider's version of "amber jigged bone". :confused: (Yours is the best, by far! ;):thumbsup:)
