What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

A gunstock jack from @gunstockjack couldn't be more perfect, thanks Barry. Am impressed with the fit and finish on this run, the pull on both blades is snappy but not nail breaking, cartridge brass and bullet shield go together like peas and honey. "I eats my peas with honey ... done it all my life. Makes the peas taste funny … but they shore stay on my knife!" ~ Anon but recited often by my Grandpa Caldwell

Both nicks easily accessible from the same side. Nice job GEC.

Normally don't need a pen blade, but this one is making me a little more open minded about it.

Peas & Honey. I like your Grandpa thinks. And those are special photos of the 44.

Thank you, fellas. A bit out of the norm for me in terms of cover preferences but the knives performed their duties admirably all the same.

Terrific knives, Barrett! I also have a solid brass Zippo and it is one of my favorites. I replaced the standard insert with a torch so that i could use it with my cigars, it works quite handily.

Thanks, Dylan! I've thought about the Zippo torch insert -- while I usually keep a Zippo handy, I never use it to light a cigar :D -- but I also really enjoy the sound, the smell, the feel of lighting a traditional Zippo, so I just use a separate lighter (Xikar double flame torch) for cigars.

Beautiful photos of that #44, John! I've been on the fence about that one, but you might've just sold me on it!

John, this has to be one of the most beautiful knives out there.

Hot and humid, working in mobile homes with no power on or missing a.c. units, had to switch over to strictly stainless, even with oiling my carbon blades their rusting in my pocket
Are those the new Taylor made versions? If so, what is the quality like? I really enjoy Old Timers, but I've been reluctant to buy any of the new ones, since I have no knowledge of their quality. If you like them, maybe I'll have to give them a try.

Thanks, GT! I really dig that demo knife. I'll bet that super slim beauty is hardly noticeable among the half dozen other knives you've got on you. :D:p

RE the Amber Jigged Bone: I agree with you. The color on the bone that Glenn used reminds me more of "Amber Stag" than "Amber Bone", but I'm super glad it is more reminiscent of the former rather than the latter. Case's "Amber Bone" is more like a blank canvas, where as the bone that Glenn used is already a piece of art!

Certainly no sweat to choose that duo, Ron! ;)
Thanks GT! :) I wish I could say the same now! Just got in from some more landscaping duties and I'm setting here all sweaty waiting on my wife to finish her shower first! ;) Bet you didn't think I was a gentleman like that did you!? :p :D

They are new Taylor brand ones. To be honest I can't really find a fault in them, granted the trapper came from Wal-Mart and the stockman from a local hardware store, so I got to handle both b4 buying. Both came with even grinds and scary sharp, no wobble, great walk'n'talk. I "customized" mine by rounding the edges of the covers, notice the extra light color along the edges of the scales. Nothing wrong with the factory shape just a personal preference of mine. So far they've proved to be good tough working knives.
Edit: here's a whole thread on the subject, good points and discussions for both view points.

They are very nice Barrett . The stamped End Caps and the Shield and the Brass make these a pretty special knife IMHO .
