What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Had a small mishap when I dropped this one today. It didn't fall from the first picture I posted. I was just messing with it while at my desk.

Fixed it pretty quickly. Scratched up the bone under the shield, roughed up the back side with a coarse stone, and then cleaned everything with alcohol.

Came out pretty good.

Need to recover :p:thumbsup: my one and only 4 yr old grandson will be here in exactly 1hr and 45min  there goes my nap time.

I understand totally! One of ours is two and the other 8 months. The two year old is a whirlwind. I had my Lloyd out the other day, opening the daily mail. Wide eyed and obviously very interested he kept asking "What are you doing, Pa Pa? What are you doing, Pa Pa?" You gotta love em!

You have some quality wood, Ron, including a couple of Osage Orange examples (this one and a stockman, IIRC) that definitely qualify!:cool::thumbsup:
Thanks GT!

Thanks Ron, wait until you see yours my friend!  That's actually one of Royal Enfield's 'modern' bikes! ;) Smashing combo there my friend :)
I can’t wait to see it! :) I should have looked a little closer at the photo. It clearly has Royal Enfield on the tank. ;) :D

With this fine London weather we're having on east coast, the British bloke in Buffalo dress got the nod...needed one who wouldn't flinch, or melt in the rain.

Perfect companion today...although he kept insisting I was driving on the wrong side of the road...he did convince me to pop in for a pint..or two..

A friend of mine had a Russian Ural motorcycle, which he bought new in the mid 80's. A day didn't go by without someone complimenting him on his 'classic old bike'! :D It was probably mainly when he was broken down at the side of the road with oil all over the place, that happened just about every day too! :p :D

The color and jigging of the bone on your knife make it look just like a delicious mini loaf of bread!!:thumbsup::cool:;)

Math nightmares?? :( I tell my students math helps them make their dreams come true!:D

Thanks for the Case compliment, Dean. :) Somewhat scary that our minds share some thoughts, since my first glimpse of your photo made me think it would fit right in with Jack's ever-popular Watery Backgrounds series.;)

Great photos of admirable knives, Dean.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Welcome to The Porch, @jodapop , and congrats on the boffo gunstock!:cool::thumbsup: What's the latticework the knife is on?

What a captivating knife, Harry!:thumbsup::cool: IMHO, those stag 73s from summer of 2015 are classics!

Thanks for noticing the Case mini copperlock; the walnut Rogers jigged bone is one of Case's best, I think. :) I also think the pattern you posted is one of the best traditional folder patterns, and yours has dynamite covers!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Excellent! Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. ;):cool:

Thanks, Jack; we returned from our lakeshore idyll on the Ides of August. :) You're fairly flush with fetching lambsfoots lately!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Grand rehab of the TEW, Jeff!:thumbsup::cool: I hope you have a safe and enjoyable trip.:)

Handsome Sword Brand, Steve, and I favor this type of shot, from slightly below the level of the knife forming an arc de triomphe!;)

Impeccable photo, Alan, and maybe such a cool knife can help you beat the heat.
(Math joke: What did the acorn say when it grew up? Readers may supply the punch line.)

Jolly good knife, but there's just so much of it!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Easier for us to stay hydrated if you weren't making us drool with killer pics, Gary! ;):thumbsup:

Kudos on the laudable pic, Ken!!:cool::thumbsup:

Multi-thanks, Dean. :)

Magnificent! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I'm more of a dog guy, but I'd be willing to make that noteworthy Catt a pet, Mark!:cool::thumbsup:

Another opulent Wooden Wednesday for Whetstone!:thumbsup::cool:

I praise your pragmatic position, Will! ;):thumbsup:

Really radical height-to-thickness ratio on your Kutmaster Pruner, Stuart!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Salubrious study in contrasts with that wood pair, Rachel!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Dave, with the dual blades you already have the top of the line model! ;):thumbsup:

There you go again, John, posting that useful knife again as a temptation to the weak-willed among us (me).:D:thumbsup: Fortunately, the dealer with whom I'm preparing a knife order for this holiday weekend has no Carhartt Cases in stock!!

Big Knife of the Week for me is Rough Rider's version of the large sodbuster:

As for me, it’s a stockman kind of day.

I have this Schrade Senator pattern that @glennbad gave me along with a RR I won from him in a GAW. He had put Mammoth Ivory covers on it. The tang stamp indicates it was from 1946 thru the 1950's but I believe they added the USA to the stamp in 1954 it's in excellent condition for a knife that's at least 64 years old. Thanks Glenn I love this knife you are the man.

Fantastic! Glennbad is the man!

Just coonfingering around the house today, but this early Pacific Cutlery/Samson Lockback was just too dang sexy to pass up. Wicked thin hollow grind, 0.010" bte/0.050" 3/8" back from the edge
