What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Faux ebony and faux ivory.

Love it... Or is ebony and ivory just faux plastics :D

Boy does hiding in the shop sound familiar.
Good mod, those round handles feel ok in the hand, but not the pocket.
Thanks, The Opinel might get more carry time no that I thinned it down.

Bernice's Belly Button! Total glamor shot of your SBJr, and bueno Opinel mod!:cool::thumbsup:
You made me laugh, GT...... "Bernice's Belly Button" now that is funny!
Also, thank you for the complement.

A modern take on an old pattern

Thank you, Dave.
It was just a side purchase with the main GEC #71 to just check it out.
I didn't even know what "pocket worn" was.

The knife is a very pleasant surprise.
The bone looks stunning.
Very nice fit and finish (except the edge).
Perfect spring preload and tension.
Smooth action.

This kicked out Queen Country Cousin and will stay in my pocket for a while.

Its funny how we stumble across a knife we weren't really looking for, and it turns out to be a keeper. :p all the best!

Working at home so I can play with this. Bit of an overkill for home office knife?

I absolutely love this knife aesthetically, but it has some vertical play in the lock. I have understood that in traditional backlocks this is normal. My Buck 500 Duke is rock solid. Please tell me that it's ok to have some play, because I would hate to not like this knife? :(

Thank you for such well thought out answer ! It really grabs me on many levels. Fantastic knife !! The blade shape reminded me of Jared Oeser's Native. I really like Manny's handle shape. Thanks again
Check out Oeser's hellhound pattern. ;) Very similar in shape to the Dog Bone. BTW, I'm pretty sure Manny is looking to fill a few spots in his book and he also has a very nice Dog Bone available as well. He's on IG, mannys_knives.

:D
You got me thinking about when exactly plastics started being sold for their own properties, rather than only as an imitation of natural materials. The brightly colored celluloid handles and swirly plastic covers aren't faux anything, are they?
