Walden and a Winter moon
Our love deserves another try
Before you whisper goodbye
All Too Soon
Gorgeous old jack, Gev.
So in its place I submit a photo of the Imperial electrician performing surgery upon another classic traditional knife I often use (GRAPHIC CONTENT WARNING: Some viewers may find the following image disturbing, due to visible "guts")
A utility knife being utilized on a utility knife - very fitting, David. I have several of the box cutters, so I am familiar with that surgery.
The first thing I grabbed this morning:
That Case stockman is a cool classic, Jer.
Other than the food & seeing friends, I don't know why we bother. We're 70 years old & almost all the stuff we find at those places looks exactly like the junk we've stuffed in the attic or got tired of looking at & already donated to Good Will.
I see stuff I'm still using at the antique stalls.
There are a few events like it around here every year. People come up here from the flatlands & suburbs to see us old farts show off vintage tractors, old craft making, & demos on how things were done in the old days. We pretty much sit around like that banjo playing kid from Deliverance & watch the city slickers & hippies. It's entertainment.![]()
Those a some of the funniest comments I have seen anywhere. The tears are gone, but I'm still chuckling.
A 33 and a 94 for me.
A wonderful pair of workers, Jeff.
Halfrich Small Rounder for me on this cold damp Friday.
That's a radiant Rounder, Gary. It warmed me up!
Carrying these two today. The Lloyd sowbelly has been a mainstay since it arrived usually paired with a larger blade although it does fine by itself
Pretty pair, Alan. I'd make them perpetual pocket pals, if I was you.
Finally able to upload pics of my carry today![]()

It was well worth the wait to see those tw, Jack. Thanks for showing them amid the obstacles.
Camillus and Utica in my pockets today.
Very nice pairing, Nick. I feel the bar slipping higher and higher.
Today I'm toting my 1977 Case Barlow.
A lovely classic, Randy.
I have largely had these two with me, with maybe a random alternative here and there but I just haven't had the time to contemplate my daily carries. These two always perform admirably.
They lend to the peaceful panorama, Dylan. Thanks for the picture.
Again today
Ron, the surf looks smooth enough to tackle with that slick canoe, all you need is a paddle.
Today's carry. As the weather chills locally, my knives are cuddling for heat.
They look red hot, Dean.
Ashley's Choice lamb foot
Lovely lambie, Dwight.
Look at the wonderful baseball-themed knife I received from @JTB_5's GAW!
That's pretty cool, PJohn. I see by your later posted picture that it (or the Scottish ale) had you head over heels.
The wife and I took 3 of the granddaughters to a pumpkin patch today.
That sounds like a a fun trip, Ken. Your picture is simply gourd-geous.
An oiled bone Fremont that I purchased from Lance
A fine find from a fine friend, I'd say, Paul. It is lovely, but the sunset pics are spectacular. Thanks.
Case 6275 Moose five dot, and Wenger Lumberjack.
That's a great picture, Jeff. The Case is a true pocket knife and shows a history of loving use.
After a week in the mountains this was the only knife that earned its keep. It breasted a grouse, sliced deer steak, cheese and brats and tagged along for some incredible scenery and multiple encounters with elk, just nothing harvested.
Welcome back and we are happy to have you back, safe and sound, even if elk-free. You don't need a full meat pole to have a wonderful hunt. Brats and venison will do.
Swayback Jack today.
Where's the cuddling companion, Dean? A too-hot twosome? The SBJ looks great, for a singleton.
Short break between rain storms, so I'm trimming the herb garden.![]()
A handsome Hess, r8shell, beautifully portrayed.
Senescence or rejuvenation ...that is the question
I cast an optimistic vote for the latter, having come to a grudging, but graceful acceptance of the former.
