What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Gorgeous old jack, Gev.

So in its place I submit a photo of the Imperial electrician performing surgery upon another classic traditional knife I often use (GRAPHIC CONTENT WARNING: Some viewers may find the following image disturbing, due to visible "guts")

A utility knife being utilized on a utility knife - very fitting, David. I have several of the box cutters, so I am familiar with that surgery.

The first thing I grabbed this morning:

That Case stockman is a cool classic, Jer.

Other than the food & seeing friends, I don't know why we bother. We're 70 years old & almost all the stuff we find at those places looks exactly like the junk we've stuffed in the attic or got tired of looking at & already donated to Good Will.

I see stuff I'm still using at the antique stalls.

There are a few events like it around here every year. People come up here from the flatlands & suburbs to see us old farts show off vintage tractors, old craft making, & demos on how things were done in the old days. We pretty much sit around like that banjo playing kid from Deliverance & watch the city slickers & hippies. It's entertainment.:)

Those a some of the funniest comments I have seen anywhere. The tears are gone, but I'm still chuckling.

A 33 and a 94 for me.

A wonderful pair of workers, Jeff.

Halfrich Small Rounder for me on this cold damp Friday.

That's a radiant Rounder, Gary. It warmed me up!

Carrying these two today. The Lloyd sowbelly has been a mainstay since it arrived usually paired with a larger blade although it does fine by itself

Pretty pair, Alan. I'd make them perpetual pocket pals, if I was you.

Finally able to upload pics of my carry today

It was well worth the wait to see those tw, Jack. Thanks for showing them amid the obstacles.

Camillus and Utica in my pockets today.

Very nice pairing, Nick. I feel the bar slipping higher and higher.

Today I'm toting my 1977 Case Barlow.

A lovely classic, Randy.

I have largely had these two with me, with maybe a random alternative here and there but I just haven't had the time to contemplate my daily carries. These two always perform admirably.

They lend to the peaceful panorama, Dylan. Thanks for the picture.

Again today

Ron, the surf looks smooth enough to tackle with that slick canoe, all you need is a paddle.

Today's carry. As the weather chills locally, my knives are cuddling for heat.

They look red hot, Dean.

Ashley's Choice lamb foot

Lovely lambie, Dwight.

Look at the wonderful baseball-themed knife I received from @JTB_5's GAW!

That's pretty cool, PJohn. I see by your later posted picture that it (or the Scottish ale) had you head over heels.

The wife and I took 3 of the granddaughters to a pumpkin patch today.

That sounds like a a fun trip, Ken. Your picture is simply gourd-geous.

An oiled bone Fremont that I purchased from Lance

A fine find from a fine friend, I'd say, Paul. It is lovely, but the sunset pics are spectacular. Thanks.

Case 6275 Moose five dot, and Wenger Lumberjack.

That's a great picture, Jeff. The Case is a true pocket knife and shows a history of loving use.

After a week in the mountains this was the only knife that earned its keep. It breasted a grouse, sliced deer steak, cheese and brats and tagged along for some incredible scenery and multiple encounters with elk, just nothing harvested.

Welcome back and we are happy to have you back, safe and sound, even if elk-free. You don't need a full meat pole to have a wonderful hunt. Brats and venison will do.

Swayback Jack today.

Where's the cuddling companion, Dean? A too-hot twosome? The SBJ looks great, for a singleton.

Short break between rain storms, so I'm trimming the herb garden. :D

A handsome Hess, r8shell, beautifully portrayed.

Senescence or rejuvenation ...that is the question

I cast an optimistic vote for the latter, having come to a grudging, but graceful acceptance of the former.

Fabulous bone on that pen, Nick! No patina yet, but I completed my mod of the pen to a coping on this Buffalo Jack.

SLImmA9.jpg
Thank you! Excellent mod job. It looks like it came straight out original from the factory. Clip and coping is a better blade combo too!

So good!

Thank you!!

D Duckdog Those 2 you’re toting today are way neat Stuart. I love both but that small one is just so cool.

These 2 on me today.

Cool pairing !!

Pacific Cutlery/Jody Samson large Lockback, and a Tuna Valley Carpenter Whittler;)

~Chip

Thank you kindly, Chip. Very special

I've been on a Wharncliffe kick lately (and it's Stag Saturday) so I decided to drop my Case vintage stag mini copperhead (V52109W) in my pocket today. Sweet little knife!

That is sweet !!!

Thinned the Böker down to almost a zero edge...wicked slicer is an understatement;)
Still can't seem to find a brass/stag whittler to pair with it though :(

These two Imperials, plus my LB7
IMHO, Imperials are imperative, David!:cool::thumbsup:

Those are some fine canoes GT. I’m partial to the Böker especially.:cool:

I went out to dinner with the girlfriend tonight, and I felt like carrying something a bit fancy to go with my slacks and new button down shirt. A stag 78 in Northfield trim should do....
Very nice choice. Good for slicing a steak and impressing the lady all at once.
When you are ready to take it to the next level, start taking photos of your knives in front of her. If she doesn't freak out or run, there's your sign.;)
During a walk in the woods the other day, we were admiring some really cool looking moss when Mrs. Fleschwund suggested it would make a good background for a knife photo. She might be a keeper.:D
Thanks for the canoe commendations, @Spaten. :) The stag 78 is definitely "dressy":cool::thumbsup:, and Jeff has some wise romantic advice for knife knuts in his quote! ;):thumbsup:

Carried my #44 all day. What a great knife, I love the blade combo.

That knife looks magnificent, Taylor, and the patina on both blades and brass is the reason why!:cool::thumbsup:

Was it National Canoe Day?
A bunch of beautiful canoes being posted today, just fantastic.

Glad I had this little knife with me today at Oktoberfest. Who says the #14 is too small for real work? :D
I'm biased, of course, but I'm quite sure EVERY day is National Canoe Day, John! :p:thumbsup::D
That 14 looks like it's doing a commendable job keeping you fed properly!:cool::cool:

Well, Gary, I like it a whole lot. Been carrying it almost every day. The pull is stout, but I'm getting used to it. My first stag knife, but not the last. Nor the last lambsfoot. Need rosewood and ebony. May skip the horn. Would probably expand and contract too much in my environment (Texas gulf coast).
Thanks for your opinions, PJohn. Sounds like you have well-laid plans for the future, too! ;):thumbsup:

You are the commodore of canoes, GT. That's a fine fleet.
...
GT, that wood grain is so nice. Congratulations on that capture.
...
That's the ticket, GT. What a classic pocket pattern. As you may know, I love the half congresses and that is a very fine example. "Envy, get thee behind me!"

Thanks for all the encouragement, Stuart. :) You're swiftly becoming master of the multi quote!!:thumbsup:;)
"Envy, get thee behind me!" should probably be tattooed on the back of my hand where I can see it as I use my laptop to visit The Porch.

Thanks, Jack. :) Sorry to hear that your connectivity conundrum continues. :(

Sunk Joint City!:thumbsup::cool: That's a covetable stockman, Jer! ;)

Thanks GT! I am no expert sharpener, but have learned a lot from this forum. The best lessons have been to slooooooww down and be patient :). Couple of very nice carries you have there

In the low 40's when I started out this morning, and supposed to rain all day. So I grabbed some colorful choices to keep me company :). Happy Friday!

Thanks, Tom. :) Is the fact that BF is an acronym for both Blade Forums and Blue Farmer meaningful??:thumbsup:

Finally able to upload pics of my carry today

Camillus and Utica in my pockets today.

Notable pair, Nick! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Today I'm toting my 1977 Case Barlow.

...
I'm not sure if a Barlow would admit to being classy, but your Case is certainly classic, Randy!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Been a bit of a spell since I have posted my daily "tote" here. The last few weeks have been rather hectic and busy with deadlines and such that require attention.

I have largely had these two with me, with maybe a random alternative here and there but I just haven't had the time to contemplate my daily carries. These two always perform admirably.

Dylan, I'm delighted that you're still dealing in dynamic duos!:thumbsup::thumbsup: I hope your work lets you "come up for air" a little more frequently in the near future.

... Thanks for the comments on my Buck Canoe! I consider it to be well worth the rediciously low close out price I paid at the big retail store! It’s one of the sharpest knives out of the box I ever bought! It’s an import for Buck, but it has their build quality and the Lifetime Warranty! And with all that said, if some baggage handlers end up with it in their pocket, I’m not going to be a happy camper, but I’ll be less peed off than if it was one of it’s more costly counterparts. :)
I've enjoyed your "Beach Buck Canoe" this week, Ron, and I really like your comments about it!:thumbsup::thumbsup::)

...
Thank you, Gary. The bone on your 2-blade Case congress is to die for!:thumbsup:
I appreciate your saying so, Dean.:)

Today's carry. As the weather chills locally, my knives are cuddling for heat.

Yeah, those skinny single-bladed knives don't generate a lot of heat on their own, even though they look like glowing embers! ;):cool:

Congrats, Guardian Dwight!! That looks like some satisfying stag!:thumbsup::thumbsup: Your patience was inspiring. ;)

Look at the wonderful baseball-themed knife I received from @JTB_5's GAW!
Wonderful is an apt description of the baseball Tinker!:thumbsup::thumbsup: How is that book?

The wife and I took 3 of the granddaughters to a pumpkin patch today.
...
Colorful pic, Ken!:thumbsup::thumbsup: An election season quote from Churchill: "The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter."

Black and red again today.
...
Powerful pairing, Jeff! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

This is the second to the last week of my 38-week rotation schedule, and I don't remember doing this intentionally, but there were a BUNCH of my prized Case CV chestnut jigged bone knives on the schedule this week.
Stockman was a sowbelly (thanks, Ron), and one of my EDCs is a Sodbuster Jr (from BigBiscuit GAW):

Peanut of the Week was chestnut CV:

Miscellaneous Knife was the mini trapper:

And, getting into the chestnut spirit, I had a second Free Choice knife, a teardrop:
