It's taking a lot of self control to pass on buying a new GEC #14, so I'm going to console myself this week by carrying the Boy's Knife Jacks that I already own. Today it's the Boker.

So true! I get so tempted by all the new acquisitions that come in waves from each new GEC run, and the 14 looks great.
I fight it off by looking at my cigar box of Camillus TL-29s I bought to mod. They make a knife very similar to the 14 is size and urility. Plus, I need the practice.
If only it was possible given my hand tools and skill to make a long pull clip out of a nail nick spear!
Your Boker certainly holds it’s own against the latest run.

These two knives prove to me that I don't really know what I like in a pattern. I passed on the Big Bays when they first came out and it turns out that it fits me well. I never considered a sowbelly and now you couldn't get this one away from me.IMG_6082-1024x798.JPG

... I'm having a Double Lambsfoot Day to pick me up ;) :D
...
Admirable pair of lambsfoots, Jack; they boost MY spirits!:thumbsup::thumbsup: What's the lamb card all about?

... a good combination U.S.A./Switzerland...;)
...
Brilliant pairing of beautiful knives in the spirit of international cooperation, Senhor Pinto!:cool::cool:

... recently I've come to realise what a good pattern the scout/camp knife is as an everyday user. ...

...
You make a convincing case for the camp knife pattern, Mark!:cool::thumbsup: But I'm biased, since the scout pattern was my first knife, and I still carry one (among many other knives) every day. ;)

Dynamic duo, Jeff, and I appreciate the distinction you've drawn between "Pocket Worntm" and "pocket worn".:thumbsup::cool: I'm probably too old to ever get a new knife properly "pocket worn", but I dance when I can find a decent old one with that feature. :)

Enchanting pic of an excellent stag knife, Ken!:cool::thumbsup: Are the Buckeyes represented in your pic different from Jack Black's "conkers"? They certainly look similar!

A Primble scout and a city knife with me today....
...
First-rate couple of knives in your famed fixed/scout combos, Tom!:thumbsup::cool:

... I'm totin' Mutt & Jeff today: a Queen #11 EO (1950-1960) in Frontier bone (Queen speak for Winterbottom) and a small (2 11/16") folder by Eldon Courtney (Witchita, KS) in wee stag, dated September 1981, serial #113.

Mutt & Jeff are a grand brace of knives, Stuart!:thumbsup::thumbsup: The graceful little stag is gorgeous, but that groovy great Queen intrigues me, especially the placement of the EO notch. How does that notch feel in hand while using the knife? I'm surprised that it's not placed to maximize leverage on the blade.

Who knew that leather and stag together were so hypnotic?!? Heavenly, Alan!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Another incredible acronymic coincidence: BF stands for both Blade Forums and Black Forest!:rolleyes: That's an illustrious stag whittler, FBC!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

This old thing for Stag Saturday

Harry
Hey, that's how my wife describes me to her friends! :D That stag must make you jump for joy, Harry!:thumbsup::cool:

Kudos on a kickin' couple of knives, Nick!:thumbsup::thumbsup: That shadow sleeveboard pen is a total knockout!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

... No patina yet, but I completed my mod of the pen to a coping on this Buffalo Jack.

Laudable mod, Jeff!! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

... I decided to drop my Case vintage stag mini copperhead (V52109W) in my pocket today. Sweet little knife!

Magnificent, mesmerizing knife, Ace!! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thank you GT. That is a gorgeous Case sowbelly! I have one of those in the works. :)
Thanks, Dwight. :) I'm almost as enamored with sowbelly stockmans as I am with canoes! ;) I think you'll really like the one you have coming!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

It's alright--light reading. Like most books about baseball. Some of my favorites: "The Boys of Summer"; "Summer of '49"; "56: Joe Dimaggio and the Last Magic Number in Sports" (should appeal to you!); anything by Yogi; and "Driving Mr. Yogi."
Need to find a book about the 1984 Detroit Tigers: that was a good year for baseball.
Thanks for the feedback and reading suggestions, PJohn. :) Sparky Anderson (and a ghostwriter) wrote God Bless You, Boys about the '84 Tigers' season.

...
Thanks for the kind words my friend :) That is a stellar Case CV chestnut jigged bone line-up there :)

Hope everyone is having a great weekend :) The weather is wet and miserable here I'm afraid, cheering my pockets up with these two ;)

Speaking of tigers, that's a notable black/orange combo, Jack!:cool::thumbsup: Thanks for the chestnut bone support. :)

Outstanding photos of overwhelming scenery!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thank you. I bought my first xx18 to reward a hardware store for stocking Case, but it's become a favorite pattern for me.

Despite the narrow clip.
I'd probably say, "Despite the puzzling proud tip of the sheepsfoot!" I'll never understand that design decision! :confused:o_O

Fab Five, Gary!
Thanks, Lance; I have a "matching" swayback jack (thanks, Paul), too, but that was on my schedule the previous week. :)

...
Nothing wrong with the rest of your collection, but when these roll around on the rotation, I’d throw the schedule out the window and get stuck on these for awhile.
I totally agree, Jeff, and that's why I have my schedule, so I don't let my petty preferences for certain pretty, pleasurable, popular, praiseworthy knives prevent me from partaking of the promise of ALL my pocket knives! ;):D

Thanks Gary and those are some beautiful knives !
Thanks, Steve. :) They don't have the virtue of being vintage, yet, but I sure like 'em!:thumbsup:

That's a high quality quintet, GT. I like the all, but my quota would be the sowbelly and the teardrop.

- Stuart
Thanks, Stuart. :) I'd be hard-pressed to pick favorites from the half-dozen knives I currently have from that series, but it's a burden I gladly bear! :D

I often try to carry and post a pearl handled knife on Sunday, but today I'm going to a neighbor's birthday cookout and football watching party, so I'm totin' these two for back-up beer cap and brat duties.

The right tools for the job can never be wrong!:thumbsup::thumbsup: (Those 2 knives are especially apt if the Saints are playing. ;))

So true, Gary! I am astounded, no amazed, really astonished at your confluence of CV Chestnut jigged bone beauty that you have presented!:thumbsup::D:)
...
Sunday carry, Case Walnut bone stockman.
Thanks for supporting my chestnut bone holdings, Dean, but the Case walnut Rogers jig bone knives are just as desirable, I think, and that stockman is a ravishing example to prove my point!:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: (That series sure didn't stay in production very long! :()

...I just needed some stag today! :D

Beautiful stag on those two Ron. They say great minds think alike so I guess we have great minds buddy because I'm toting two @glennbad stag modded knives a Case Trapper and a #15 Boy's Knife.

Ron & Randy, those are a couple of sensational stag pairs you gentlemen posted!!:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Your old cross Electrician is exquisite, FBC!:thumbsup::cool:

As is true every day of every week, I'm carrying these knives:
