What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Dwight, that's a stunning knife, and I appreciate it even more after watching the video @veitsi_poika posted recently!
Thanks GT. I totally agree, Kevin's video was very interesting! :)

This knife keeps growing on me every time I see it when reviewing this thread.
I've been having the same thoughts Brian. Harry's Pocket Eze is killing it.

cigarrodog cigarrodog and @Leslie Tomville , those are gorgeous knives in stunning pictures. I just threw all of my knives in the trash, along with my so-called phone camera.

Very nice Queen, @SteveC , and thanks for the impetus. It's been drizzling a cold rain all day here, so I'm warming up with a Queen #32 and some warming fluid. I'll toss the #32 out with the rest later, thanks to cigarrodog cigarrodog and @Leslie Tomville

I know you’re just joshing, but there are as many nice images as there are people like yourself in this Forum.

Every picture (and knife?) tells a story; thanks for posting some of the stories for this bunch, Jer!:cool::thumbsup: Any idea how old that skinny Colonial jack is? I have one quite similar to yours:
Shucks, you're welcome.
It has to be about as old as me at least, which is just about 61 & 1/2. Too bad I didn't wonder in time why Dad had it; he was all about shadow pens. (Mine is stamped like yours. Maybe B. Mauser could help us out in Colonials.)

Very cool that knives are a family affair, Heath!:cool::thumbsup:

It's funny, I just always assumed everybody was like this! My maternal grandpa would always pull out his knife roll and show off his recent acquisitions at holidays, while my paternal grandpa had a very impressive collection of nice Frontier and Old Timer stockmen, and a massive stack or users too. My dad has my grandpa's knife roll that includes two knives from great grandpa's and a bunch of very old and sentimental (and neat!) knives.

I remember getting my first knife at about 5 years old (a Wenger keychain SAK) in Switzerland when my dad was in the Army in the 80s. We took a lot of family vacations to Gatlinburg TN and I would beg to go to Smoky Mountain Knifeworks. Not sure what my mom and sister did for the hours that dad and I would spend there...

When my 4 year old boys are in a bad mood, I give them a dull Vic Classic to carry around - it always cheers them right up :D

Thank you for everything you bring to this place Stuart :)

Well-said, Stuart!:cool::thumbsup: I'd say you give at least as good as you get here on The Porch! ;):thumbsup:

I appreciate your opinions, Stuart. :) Best wishes for the frying, and enjoy your refuge.:cool:

Thanks, Jack and GT. Y'all made it easy to fit in.

Fancy Canoe of the Week is a Case amber jigged bone model:

Yes, that one.

A 65-69 Case red bone Trapper for the day:thumbsup:

Stay still my heart . . .

Smoked Turkey success, even the 3yr old approved....

Spatchcocking a turkey on the smoker is THE WAY to go for smoking. Kudos for a finely finished bird.

That's a coincidence, I went to the cinema this evening, and swapped out my earlier carry for the Old Timer Peanut you generously gifted me a while back :) Nice Thanksgiving line-up Rachel

That'a a nice one, Jack (and kudos, @r8shell ).

Here's something different; Chief Cutlery Co, Irish Congress. My favorite pattern and a brand I can't find in any of my books.

This is another reason to step up on The Porch - very nice knives that you may not have seen. It's new to me, and very nice.

This one isn't what I had in mind when I went to find a special knife for today, but it was calling to me when I saw it as I started looking through my "pile" on my nightstand (as opposed to my pile on my dresser or my pile on my computer desk).

I can see why.

Schrade Walden Eagle Eye
Thank you, Mr. Hilborn

That's a fine knife. Thanks for sharing to both @paulhilborn and Gev.

Craftsman Stockman today

Steve, your recent Cammies and that Queen#10 were pleasures to see; this Craftsman is another. Thank you.

this one which came from my grandpa's collection and is in my pocket today

A great Buck bounty.

D Duckdog Beautiful knives Stuart!! As always.

Stuart your coke bottle collection alone is to die for. Oh my... the ebony glory of it all.

Thanks, Nick & Dwight. Y'all keep raining the bar, so I keep shuffling to keep up.

You got that right  Priorities are enjoying what you have, not accumulating what you don't need ;)

Truer words are rare, Will. Thanks.

Tidiute and Schrade for a warm(er), drippy day, with forecasts of 6 to 8 inches of snow for tomorrowo_O
Better get the snow blower staged and prepped.

Best of luck, Jeff. In a push, you could call on @Old Engineer and ask Harry to bring his Deere herd to clear the way. What a green fleet!!

Parker Edwards Mini Trapper in White Bone

I've not seen one of those and hope to see more of it and any others. Very nice, John.

Stag (it's required by me), and leather and brass. I couldn't decide how to pose them so I'll post them both.

A very nice selection, Alan. As always, but these are really attractive.

Today another Portuguese, this time of Veríssimo - Miranda do Douro!!!

That is a very beautiful knife, my friend. You have shown several excellent knives over the past week and I want to thank you for sharing them. Without you, I would not have known about them or their makers.

Canal Street

Unique and beautiful, Dwight.

Immaculate pair of Winchesters, Stuart!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Colt stag muskrat

Imperial serpentine jack (I think this is its 3rd consecutive week as a "free choice")

Thanks, GT, but I tricked folks by not noting the knives. The big black coke bottle with the BB Winchester trapper is a Schatt & Morgan from 1903-1932, In truth, both knives are very dark brown (but seemed right for Black Friday).

Carried some 400 stainless with me on my duck hunt this morning.

Your blind looks much neater than ours, We get a little messy.

D Duckdog our blind is one week old! Nothing like building a new blind the weekend before opener!

Or brushing it a week before. We have a blind across the creek from Marine Corps Base Quantico and trying to brush our blind after September 11, 2002 was a real challenge. Operators in black uniforms and black guns in a Zodiac watching us work (after an hour discussion as to whether we should leave or not).

Nice brace of redheads, Stuart, and the Sandeman's is good too!:thumbsup:

Thanks. It's a good place to relax. Nice Fight 'N Rooster stockman.

Beautiful gun, beautiful knife, nice bottle, and beautiful birds!

Thanks, sometimes it all comes together (but it takes time and great timing).

Cattaraugus

That's a beauty, Mark.

Beautiful Dwight

I appreciate your "testimonial" for me, Jack! :):thumbsup: I used the GS knife to make lunch today; it's a remarkably Good Slicer. ;)
Your AC looks as lovely as ever!:thumbsup::cool:

Thank you my friend :)

Today was the day for finally getting ready for snow . Now , just bring it on .
Have the TEW Lambfoot in my pocket .

Harry

I never see that one Harry :) Your mention of snow had me thinking about the car on the lake! :D

Thanks, Jack and GT. Y'all made it easy to fit in.

I've not seen one of those and hope to see more of it and any others. Very nice, John.
Thanks Stuart. That is my first ever Parker Edwards. I bought it on a whim because I'm a sucker for single blade mini trappers. I've got to say that it is a very well built knife and I will definitely be looking for others.
