What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Double Lambsfoot day is looking nice Jack, great photos :thumbsup:

Thanks! I have no idea why I don't carry that GEC more often :confused:, I think I am going to clean it up and put a screaming sharp edge on it. Maybe it just needs a little attention :)

Thanks Tom, I think I need to rummage through my knife boxes and dig out a few old friends myself :) :thumbsup:

More procrastibaking.

That stag coke bottle is an absolute showpiece, Dwight; "it's the real thing"!
Thank you GT.

Very nice Dwight
Thanks Jack.

Peanut-ish Knife of the Week is a Case chestnut jigged bone CV Swayback Jack (thanks, Paul):
Gorgeous swayback!

Stag/Horn Knife of the Week is a Rough Rider stag medium trapper:
Another fabulous trapper GT.

What a wonderful photo and knife. :)

I carried this trio on my hike this morning in the cold and snow.
There is quite a bit of that same fungi here. I find it quite handsome. Nice Swiss rig.

Case CV chestnut bone teardrop (I dropped this 3 or 4 times and finally decided not to clean the snow off for the photo)
Great pic.

That is the knife version of a cathedral. It is glorious.

I'm totin' a throwback this Thursday, a 30 year old Parker Frost "Bison" (by Schrade in 1978):
Fantastic jigging on a stunning knife.

Great pic of this knife that's caught your fancy, Nick! :cool::thumbsup::cool:
Thanks GT! It’s still in my pocket. Just don’t wanna post the same knife everyday on here.

Piano keys. :)

The lightening outside was tricky today and the spots of the back of the knife near the bolsters in the pic just above that look like faded bone/dye are actually glare and reflections of an adjacent cherry log. Optical illusions (delusions)? I had to go back and look at the knife again after seeing the picture.

Love it Stuart! The bone is sweeeeet!

Some comments on posts that appeared Tuesday. :rolleyes: (I'll eventually catch up, but my motto is the moral of the fable of the tortoise and hare: slow and steady wins the race. ;))

Tasty bunch, Del! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: I had peanut butter and banana on toast this morning, but wish the banana had been riper, like yours.

Artistic example, Senhor Pinto! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Jeff & Stuart, thanks for the bone bonanza you shared with us!! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: Your knives are gettin jiggy wit it!! :rolleyes:

Gev, you've got sunshine on a cloudy day! ;):thumbsup::thumbsup:

David, I admire the way that your knives have to work hard for the money! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Thanks for putting up with my suspicious nature, Dee! ;):thumbsup:

Thanks for the encouraging words, Tom. :) I like the looks of Vic's smooth Alox, but I much prefer the feeling of the textured Alox. As always, I enjoy your mastery of the fixed/scout pairing! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Well-said, Jeff. :) (I'd rather have Staglon than some of the actual stag I have! :rolleyes:) You've really found it with your Eureka jack! ;):thumbsup::thumbsup:

Your Ulster quickens my pulster, Steve! ;):cool::cool:

Thanks, Dean. :) Your slimline trapper is a long, lean, sight to be seen! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

We don't see many cloning stories in the news lately, but your cloning research is obviously proceeding successfully, Dee!! :eek::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Cool crimson couple, Ken! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

I heartily concur, Spaten; compelling Case canoe! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Preeminent pristine pair, Joshua!! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Totally totable twosome, Lance! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

:D:D That IS some unusual fruit you posted, @lambertiana! :eek::thumbsup::cool:

I think I've read here that Utica was occasionally misidentifying blade steel for some period of time. :confused: Thanks for the ID, FBC; based on the bone, I was going to guess Queen, but I'm glad I kept my mouth shut (until now :rolleyes:). :):thumbsup:

I’ve got a different Case today.

We went up to Klamath Falls, OR today and did some shopping. Rainy and stormy with some snow between here and there so I carried this Case 6217 Curved Jack with me. Heck, ya never know - I might have had to chop a tree to clear the road.

nEjcmW2.jpg

I hope you guys and gals didn't fall for the tree across the road thingy but in bad weather and traveling some of the roads we have here it does pay to carry a heavy duty style knife in your pocket - maybe have to cut a shoelace loose from a twig or something like that.

It's a funny thing, that I can take or leave a blade etch (they get lost in the patina anyway), but I love a blade with a stamp like that. I guess because nobody does that anymore on new knives, so it's extra old-timey looking.
I whole-heartedly agree with you r8shell r8shell !!! That is one of the reasons that I really like the Old Taylor Eye Witness products . They also were very well made . Maybe a little on the overly heavy side , but very well made .

Morning folks :) AC Lambsfoot and Maserin Plow for me today :thumbsup:
...
Your lambsfoot and your Plow are aristocratically agrarian, Farmer Jack!! ;):thumbsup::thumbsup:

My wife keeps dropping "carat" hints this holiday season. :eek: :confused: :rolleyes: :D

If she wants "carats under the tree", then carrots she shall have. :)

Hope she like them! :p

Really like that blade shape, Stuart! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

I seem to be carrying this one about every other day lately. This time it gets credit for the wood chips.

Impressive pile of shavings generated by your knife, Greg! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Today's Wooden Wednesday tote.

When the leaves change color, the seasons change, and Dean's Presidential appears! ;):thumbsup::thumbsup:

I think these 2 blade 14s are about the perfect size for every day carry.

You are very kind, Gary!

I'm my own worst critic. Each one I tear down and rebuild is a learning experience. And I have yet to do one that I view as perfect.
Functional with good snap, yes, but cosmetic perfection is frustratingly elusive. Keeps me off the streets and out of trouble though!:confused:
