Thanks GT! That swayback jack is a beauty.:thumbsup:

I’ve got a different Case today.
Pre 78 and earlier Case knives are simply some of the best knives period in my mind, you have an absolutely stunning small trapper right there:cool: I love the pen versus the spey. I have a couple and you inspired me to look through my vintage Case knives today. I grabbed a XX (1940-64) 6232 that my brother Markesharp gifted me. Pic's later today:thumbsup:

Captivated by the spear blade on your fine S&M Jack knife, Jack.

Nice knife, and  to coffee!

Thank you very much Jeff, been a while since I carried this one :)

I appreciate your friendly remarks, Jack. :) Your stag/rosewood lambsfoot double would be my favorite pair from among my lambsfoots!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Exquisite elegance in a small package!:cool::thumbsup:

Compelling combo, r8shell! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:;)

The rare double folder day for you, Tom - nice!! ;):thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks for your stag support, Dean. :)

Beautiful trio for the road, Dean!:cool::thumbsup:

Classic, Steve!:thumbsup::cool: Do you have any idea why that Camillus whittler "groups" the blades differently (a secondary on each end) than most whittlers (both secondaries opposite the main)?

What a luminous beauty, Harry!:cool::cool:

That's a stunning whittler, mitch!:thumbsup::thumbsup: Thanks for your canoe comment, and I don't do spelling questions!!

Thanks, Dee. :) I've never found reasoning of ANY kind to be very effective in that situation! :(;)

Your balance problem might be because that peerless Peanut has you walking on air!!:thumbsup::cool:

Thanks, Tom. :) Here it is a gain with its big brother:

:D:D

Will you please tell us more about that knife?:thumbsup::cool:

I appreciate your kind remarks, Dwight. :)

Thanks. :) Your Case is a total knockout!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks, Joshua; alliteration may be the result of lack of imagination in choosing first letters!

For me, function is significantly more important than "cosmetic perfection"!:cool::thumbsup:

Thanks, Ace; pretty much came to me that way. :)

A pleasure my kind-hearted friend, and thank you in return, I never tire of seeing your Eternals

View attachment 1029046 No one had carried this 2137 CV jr until about an hour ago. It was untouched in it’s virgin state, waiting for years wrapped in paperwork inside it’s box. The mark side delrin was embossed with the name of a failed Presidential hopeful, which probably explains it’s unused state as well as it’s dirt cheap price.
I bought it to take apart and put new scales on, never having molested a Soddie before, but I cannot. I LOVE both the look and the silky feel of the yellow delrin.

I know what you mean about the Delrin Jeff :) You never know, that knife might be worth a fortune one day! ;) It looks like you have some work on with those two

I have to agree with your statement about pre-1978 Case Knives. Here's my 1940 - 1964 6347 CV Case Stockman that I plan on dropping in my pocket today when we go to town for lunch.

Thanks Gary !
Good question and I don't know the answer. I have seen an Ulster in the same pattern

index.php
Just a guess... Camillus and Schrade made whittlers in this pattern, too, and they are usually called carpenter’s whittlers.
When I look at really old whittlers, I see the split backspring design along with one of the smaller blades being a file.
Later split spring whittlers skip the file in favor of another pen, or sometimes a small coping blade.

So... standard blade/spring layout plus coping blade = Carpenters Whittler?

Thank you GT.

There is quite a bit of that same fungi here. I find it quite handsome. Nice Swiss rig.

Thanks, I like the look of that fungi, too. Not sure why. :)

When the leaves change color, the seasons change, and Dean's Presidential appears! ;):thumbsup:

My second Free Choice Knife this week is a Chinese Imperial sodbuster:
