What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

We went up to Klamath Falls, OR today and did some shopping. Rainy and stormy with some snow between here and there so I carried this Case 6217 Curved Jack with me. Heck, ya never know - I might have had to chop a tree to clear the road.

I hope you guys and gals didn't fall for the tree across the road thingy but in bad weather and traveling some of the roads we have here it does pay to carry a heavy duty style knife in your pocket - maybe have to cut a shoelace loose from a twig or something like that.
It sure does look like a handy-dandy knife ED.

Very cool Spanish knife, Dave!:cool::thumbsup: I have the same model, but I think your wood is better!
Other than the wood Gary, how do you like it? I find it very lite weight and an interesting spring set up keeping it open. I like it, I am thinking of getting the micarta model as well. :)

I'm totin' a throwback this Thursday, a 30 year old Parker Frost "Bison" (by Schrade in 1978):

The lighting outside was tricky today and the spots of the back of the knife near the bolsters in the pic just above that look like faded bone/dye are actually glare and reflections of an adjacent cherry log. Optical illusions (delusions)? I had to go back and look at the knife again after seeing the picture.

Stuart, my heart skipped a little beat when I saw that. I have a feeling these Parker Frosts could be an addiction. I have it’s sibling, also 0097, in green... My quest for a brown bone is now on!!

And that's a pretty one, too. Solid knives, with good F&F aren't they?

Thank you very much my farm boy friend :) I always think your Imperial Sodbuster looks so striking GT, and they are great knives too. Mine is black, but when I have had yellow ones, they always seem to be a lighter yellow

Carrying these two for Black Friday today :)

Case CV chestnut bone teardrop (I dropped this 3 or 4 times and finally decided not to clean the snow off for the photo)

Great minds carry alike, Dave and Dean; glad we could all enjoy our chestnut teardrops yesterday!:cool::thumbsup: Fine photos, too!

Well done John :) You are a worthy recipient GT :)

Camillus Whittler today
VPYA272h.jpg
Classic, Steve!:thumbsup::cool: Do you have any idea why that Camillus whittler "groups" the blades differently (a secondary on each end) than most whittlers (both secondaries opposite the main)?

This one today :

What a luminous beauty, Harry!:cool::cool:

Cloning..... o_O
Hmm, you think such reasoning would work with the misses???:p

Two good 'uns for this week.:thumbsup:
Thanks, Dee. :) I've never found reasoning of ANY kind to be very effective in that situation! :(;)

I've been carrying a Buck 110 a lot lately - going back down to this is quite a change! I have been stumbling to the right frequently, apparently I've gotten used to the extra weight in my left front pocket. My sense of balance is all off!
Your balance problem might be because that peerless Peanut has you walking on air!!:thumbsup::cool:

Thanks GT, I really like that Imperial mini canoe

Thanks, Tom. :) Here it is a gain with its big brother:

Thanks Gary, gotta say though the Queen was a gift so that makes it free,(but priceless), and the old Remington I only got about six and a half bucks into. So they wouldn't have to work hard to cover the money lol. However both work well above their paygrade.
:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

For a second there, I thought this was the beverage & blades thread!
:D:D

Will you please tell us more about that knife?:thumbsup::cool:

Gorgeous swayback!

Another fabulous trapper GT.

I appreciate your kind remarks, Dwight. :)

Thanks GT! That swayback jack is a beauty.:thumbsup:

I’ve got a different Case today.
Thanks. :) Your Case is a total knockout!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks GT! Your alliteration proliferation deserves excalamation!
Thanks, Joshua; alliteration may be the result of lack of imagination in choosing first letters!

You are very kind, Gary!

I'm my own worst critic. Each one I tear down and rebuild is a learning experience. And I have yet to do one that I view as perfect.
Functional with good snap, yes, but cosmetic perfection is frustratingly elusive. Keeps me off the streets and out of trouble though!
For me, function is significantly more important than "cosmetic perfection"!:cool::thumbsup:

Nice patina!
Thanks, Ace; pretty much came to me that way. :)

The knives I always carry:

View attachment 1029046 No one had carried this 2137 CV jr until about an hour ago. It was untouched in it’s virgin state, waiting for years wrapped in paperwork inside it’s box. The mark side delrin was embossed with the name of a failed Presidential hopeful, which probably explains it’s unused state as well as it’s dirt cheap price.
I bought it to take apart and put new scales on, never having molested a Soddie before, but I cannot. I LOVE both the look and the silky feel of the yellow delrin.
