What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Case in each pocket today. ^_^

Hey Greg - no worries, it is a Winchester scout. The shield actually has the word “Scout” stamped into it, but it was pretty pocket worn when I bought it:

Thank you very much. It’s a cool knife.

Wow, Paul, that’s a stunner! I’m familiar with the Geppetto Whittler made on that frame, but I’m trying to remember if I’ve ever seen the Wrangler before. I like it! :)

I can't think of a better set of knives for Christmas tree hunting.:thumbsup:

Got out with my Kephart yesterday Dylan and actually got to use it, I absolutely love it:thumbsup::cool: Nice duo my friend!

Outstanding pairing Dylan

I hope everyone had a great weekend :) Starting off the week with these two :)

Thank you, folks, for the compliments. That Kephart is a perfect working knife and paired with another perfect working knife (the lambsfoot), it is hard to imagine a task that couldn't be performed adequately with those two.

I love seeing that knife, it is certainly a beauty. Isn't that one of GEC's particularly small knives? A dainty thing, if I remember correctly.

I love the looks of that Wrangler, Paul. I think I saw one on the Exchange not too long ago and I wish that I had pounced on it, just wasn't the right time for me. It has all the looks of a stout working knife and I find that particularly appealing.

I had these two knives with me today. Despite the 14 being on the small side for me, I am warming up to it, it is a well made little knife.

Nice story Stuart

When I was a boy, we would sometimes manage to shoot one with our catapults (slingshots), and the park-keeper would give you a small amount of money for the tail as they were considered pests. We'd cook the meat in the woods.

Thanks, Jack, some experiences stay with you and shape your life. Your story would be a great memory to me, as I had similar days growing up on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, though we seined shrimp and boiled them and cooked spot ( a small fin fish) over an open fire on an island 5 miles from home when I was 14. Thanks for the memory, Jack.

Fox Squirrels and Black Bear are proliferating here now.

You aren't kidding, OH. NC has set several black bear records in recent years, particularly in Craven County (near my home place in Carteret County).

Happy to report that my 12OT Jack was succesfully used to open three packs of suet this morning, which the woodpeckers are devouring voraciously.

That 12OT is a fine working knife and your feeding effort is a fine gesture, Jeff. With the cold coming on, the birds can use our help.

Yes, very big, I think it would be undone...;)

Very well said, José.

I’ve never seen anything like the 62 trapper.

Me, either, Alan. At 5.25" closed, it is a piece of work, yet slender.

Alox of the Week for me is a 1986 Soldier (thanks, Ken)

That would be my choice, GT.

Imperial WW2 era Navy Utility

Another fine post, Steve, as was that gnarly lambsfoot.

Lovely pair of Queens! Not a bad hand!

Mine today, an old Shapleigh.

Thanks and KUDOS for that green devil.

Stunning knife, Gev. That's pretty special.

Thanks Greg, I like the Geppetto Whittler and am keeping an eye out for one, but the Wrangler is a really nice knife. Main clip, spey and punch:thumbsup:

Thanks Dylan, I like the Wrangler and have a Stag one as well. As usual Dylan, nice duo today:thumbsup::cool:

Great photo! Your property? Looks like there'd be some fishing going on there!

Thank you, my friend. And yes, I bought this place earlier this year. I am ashamed to admit that I have yet to cast a line back there... I just have been way too busy. New homes mean new projects and all sorts of chores... There are fish in that creek though and I do have lofty aspirations of catching dinner one of these days.

Thank you, Paul. Stag, you say? I might have seen it before and not realized it but I surely would not mind seeing it again. :D

Well, nice place!
New homes always require the wife to make "the list "...paint, new toilets etc..., and if you have acreage, that adds more stuff to do.
