@Gevonovich Congrats on the new old Shapleigh, some serious miles on it! Knives like it will be harder and harder to come by for the future generations of knife collectors since I doubt most people now don’t really use their knives that much. That said, there’ll be way more old mint knives available to collectors in the future;)
@SteveC Another day, another beauty!
@Buzzbait I don’t own any scout knives but that may be changing after seeing the old beauties you’ve been toting!

Why yes it is very beautiful, no sir, it is not cocobolo. It's actually Walnut. I'd actually be interested in knowing which species of Walnut it is, whether Lionsteel used American Walnut or some sort of European Walnut is unknown to me. But sure is nice! I coated it in a little mineral oil to darken it.

I wouldn’t have thought it was a Walnut. I’m jealous. It looks like it has a reddish hue from the picture and I thought I remembered Lionsteel doing a run of Cocobolo Roundheads. I’d be very happy to carry that around.

Lots of driving - my father in law is in the hospital. He’s got an irregular heartbeat. Hopefully they can regulate the tachycardia because that causes clots which cause strokes.
Should be ok, but when you’re in your 80s, it’s concerning.
