The Camillus is my constant companion for the time being.

But I have to admit that the Remington scout is sitting on my work desk today, so I can admire it. For two knives of identical pattern, size, cover type and being of similar vintage, they elicit far different emotional reactions. I would describe the Camillus as solid, strong, capable and useful. The Remington is artful, wondrous, lovely and somehow grounding. I receive joy from using the Camillus in all of my daily duties. I feel gratitude for having the privilege of inspecting and handling the Remington, something I'm not used to experiencing in my knife collecting. One is a superlative tool. The other is simply a masterpiece. One piece helps me to understand who I am. The other gives me a glimpse of who I might someday become.

Thanks, guys.

These two are close by this morning!

Nice pair, Ron, very nice. I am a bit partial to the redbone Case, but AC is sweet.

Bam!! There it is!! Made my day, Travis. Thanks.

Case rough black (gum fuddy) humpback stockman.

That is a handsome fellow, Alan.

Intermittent rain storms have washed out the last few days of my deer season, so I sit here with some time on my hands (until Miss Norma realizes what's happened). My totin' choice today was inspired by a post by Dylan (@Pàdruig ) and following comments by Alan ( joeradza joeradza ), an always influential pair. Because of them, I'm sticking with the pig. Sooou-ee, sooou-ee, pig!!
