What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

@Buzzbait
Do either of you know if those numbers include the knives produced for the post exchange, or is that strictly issued knives? Where would the radio jack style post exchange knife I have fit into that list? If it does. If not any idea of how many of those were produced?
Thanks guys, Dav
I looked into this before David and I did not have much luck, I'm almost inclined to say that Camillus produced that radio jack knife as the war was coming to an end and it never was put "into action" so it went right to the post exchange and in the catalogs it is called the PX Radio jack I believe. Not a lot of info on that knife, especially with the wood covers and synthetic covers. I think the wood covers may actually be replacements for synthetic handles that rotted or gassed. Just my thoughts, no proof of that ;)

“Stand back, pretty boy. I’ll handle this. We wouldn’t want you to chip your nails”View attachment 1048353 I’ll try to catch up on drooling over all ya’lls cutlery later. Lots of driving - my father in law is in the hospital. He’s got an irregular heartbeat. Hopefully they can regulate the tachycardia because that causes clots which cause strokes.
Should be ok, but when you’re in your 80s, it’s concerning.
Sorry to hear that Jeff. Safe travels for you and Mrs. Fleschwund and prayers for your Father in Law my friend .

For the Twelfth Day of Christmas (Jan. 5) and for Epiphany, also known as el Día de los Reyes (Jan. 6).

A Schatt & Morgan barehead jack from 1902-1928
What amazing jigging on the S&M Stuart and the BB Sow is superb.

A striking photo and the knife speaks for itself. Very nice.

Case Wharncliffe Mini Trapper...
Beautiful John.

I have had these three close at hand today. For no other reason than I simply could
A fine reason indeed.

Alan, I ordered a Case and when I got the invoice, I realized I inadvertently scooped up a three blade version in CV. Well, rather than having the folks change my order, I am letting it stand and now I have a single blade A. G. Russel Sowbelly on the way too. (Been eyeballing some of their blades for awhile now)
Dylan I have been warming up to the A. G. Russel knives too. Here is a large sow I received recently from them. It is very close to perfection.IMG_5811.jpg

Dwight, that's a stupendous sowbelly!!
Thank you GT. I appreciate the compliment. :)

Thanks, it is for sure a hard one to track down information on. I see the marlin spike had 38,000 made, with it being the lowest listed production run. Yet I can find pics online and examples for sale on the bay. Not so for the radio jack. That alone inclines me to believe they were made in even fewer numbers. I'm really glad I found one, and in pretty good shape overall.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you guys and your FIL.
That’s very kind, Mitch. Happily, he’s home tonight, and feeling good:thumbsup:

Jeff, what accounts for your attraction to the TL29?

Hey! Lookit that Sailor! I love that.

I like TL29s, for sure. The attraction started first with camper/scout knives, then Swiss Army knives. Having utility tools and blades is just so handy.
That hard use screwdriver blade with a scraper takes care of all the ugly jobs that you wouldn’t (or shouldn’t) use a nice blade for.

The Dick Butkus of pocket knives:D
And the best bang for my limited buck, too.

Ah that Rachel is something, huh?
Nice Buck!
Getting dressed usually means you’re on the mend. Feel better soon, Jack!

Definitely! :) Thanks my friend, I was hoping to be feeling full of beans today, but only getting 2 hours sleep probably hasn't helped much

Smashing pair Stuart

Good idea Dylan :)

Pair of black classics, Jack!:thumbsup::cool: Glad you're feeling a bit better.:thumbsup:

You sure know how to pick 'em, Ron! Beauties!:cool::thumbsup:

I'm carrying a couple of "free choice" knives this week that are not prescribed by my rotation schedule. One is a carbon steel Rough Rider sowbelly and the other is a Cannon sheepsfoot sailor knife:

Thanks pal, I've not had a RR with those fancy bolsters yet (though I've had similar Colt knives) :) Nice Anchor Knife too

^ Jack Black Jack Black and Camillus Camillus , Home Run!
(Jack, a home run is from an American game in which somebody kicks the puck through the goal posts)

I had to swap the BF Buck for the Eye Witness LF because I’m cooking for the men’s breakfast and need something good in the kitchen. And I’m toting this old Ulster TL29 with the comfy round butt.
Then, back to the studio to make more noise.View attachment 1048586
