• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I picked out this folder by the late J.M. "Mickey" Maddox to tote today. Mr. Maddox, of Ringgold, GA, learned to make knives from Ron Little and purchased some of Mr. Little's equipment and materials when he passed in 1977. I believe that this knife was made in the 1980's. Mr. Maddox died on December 5, 2015 at 89 years old. Well, I went outside to get a good picture of the knife only to find that we'd just had a cold drizzle and my intended photo prop, an upstanding ash log, was wet. Off came my shirt to protect the knife. Now, I was freezing and my hands were like butterfly wings holding the cell phone/camera. So much for photographic genius.
