What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

One of my all-time favorite knives.
But I don't carry it very often because I know I'll never be able to replace it.

Reminds me of an old Shakespeare quote:
“Tis better to have toted and lost, than never to have toted at all”.

And that thing looks eminently usable as well as toteable. As well as handsome.

Something else crossed my mind. Given the dizzying advancement in microprocessing, I can see the day when expensive pocket knives come with a tracking chip, and a free app for your smartphone.

Thanks for the kind words, Jeff.
I like this knife because it combines several features that make it the "perfect storm."
1. The Wharncliffe Mini Trapper is among my favorite patterns
2. The F&F is top notch, with just one very minor gap
3. The stag is just the way I like it, not too staggy and not too plain
4. The Orvis shield is interesting and combines my love of knives and flyfishing
I do enjoy totin' it but would feel horrible if I was to lose it. They aren't made any more and don't hardly ever pop up in the wild.

I had to swap the BF Buck for the Eye Witness LF because I’m cooking for the men’s breakfast and need something good in the kitchen. And I’m toting this old Ulster TL29 with the comfy round butt.
Then, back to the studio to make more noise.View attachment 1048586

Thanks a lot Jeff :) Great weekend pairing my friend, and it sounds like you're having a good one - not that I can hear from here! :D

Excellent pic Dwight, classy knife

In addition to my oft-toted lambsfoot, today I am toting this Victorinox Tinker:

(No, it's not too early!)

That looks like an interesting book Vince, and a cool knife

JohnDF JohnDF I noticed a large Case dealer is offering a yellow handle in CV as well. My son has one too but I can't recall the handle material, very nice knife...I'm surprised it's not more popular.
Thanks Jerry. It's a wonderful pattern and so very useful. I've had 8 of them in different handle materials, including the yellow CV, and I've enjoyed every single one of them. I've since given 6 of them away, but I've kept the two I liked the most; this stag and an antique bone that I carry much more often.

Smashing pair Stuart

I'm pocketing these two today :)

Thanks, Jack, and glad that you seem to be on the mend. That's a pretty pair that you are totin' today

That is quite special. The Orvis shield is a nice touch.

You are packing some power today, r8shell!!

Very nice, Steve, both knife and the picture.
