What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Going to carry my Grandpa John's 6232 Case XX today. He ran Bitteroot lake state campground in Montana after he retired and I would spend the summers helping him. 1982-88. We whittled many Diamond willow walking sticks together and I remember this knife fondly. VERY grateful to have it now.:)

I went for a bushwalk this evening with a knife that seems to find a way into my pocket a lot - a little DWChildress - that took a liking to an old yellow box tree.

The above photos were taken on opposite sides of the tree!
Beautiful scales! Great photo, and a perfect size for walks!
It’s raining, so here’s an indoor shot.
Lots of good knives, good photos, and good comments and stories folks!

Weather pretty much sums up my mood after the "double doink" heard round the world. :(

Beautiful "Pena" Jason, I feel for you and "Da Bears" they did everything right to win, the double doink was surreal, I however do feel for Parkey from the aspect that you know how much he must love his teammates and they him and to have not delivered for them must weigh heavy on him and he had just NAILED the one right before Philly called tome out:eek:

Buoyed by a couple of finds that I made last week in my stepfather's old boxes, I put on the carbide headlamp and dove back in. I'm totin' one of the stragglers that was hiding in the back: a Cripple Creek LI-1 made by Bob Cargill in 1982 for Knife World (more precisely, #0613 out of 2000). It is the first edition of that KW series and the first of the ten "Little Indian" patterns. It has Cargill's honeycomb jigged Honey Bone covers. At 3.25", it's a fine little knife to carry, albeit a bit stout.

The tang stamp looks better in the real world; bad angle by the photog.

Nice knives, Jack. Your ebony jack is just right!

Your AG Russell jack is gorgeous, Dwight! What are the particulars on that model?

I have been reading the Cripple Creek thread and what a joy. Bob sounds like quite the man. That knife you have is a dream, Stuart!! Thanks for the look and your Stepfather and carbide head lamps :D:)

I'm sure he's a stand up guy, but yea, that was bad. I don't feel bad for him at all.

HaHa! Bartman (forgot about him!:eek:).

I've been thinking about Scott Norwood & Bill Buckner. o_O

Well, the NFL announced today that Parkey’s kick was partially blocked. I suppose it still counts as his eleventh miss of the season ~ six of which hit an upright.
Maybe this will make him feel a little better?

To keep on topic, here’s the usual contents of my guitar pick pocket...

Had to edit, saw it in post your Case knives:thumbsup:
Thanks, Paul. Yes sir, 6292 XX

Thanks and, yes, it is. As to the tree edit, I know there are some sharp eyes on this thread.

Thanks, GT.

Thanks, Jack. I try to be a gallant as Sir Walter, but hope to avoid his fate from a fickle female.

I have never seen a Kerr before, Dwight, nor could I find info on the firm. Truly an interesting knife - and beautiful.

I love seeing your expanded Queen collection, Ted. Thanks for showing. Kudos to @r8shell .

Man, those covers glow like a warm fire.

Yep, that's the one!!

Thanks, Harry. I go back to the pearl pile time and again.

Thanks, GT, and you aren't the only happy one.

There is comfort in continuity, GT. I like seeing your constant contingent.

I am, too, Steve. He was a national treasure.

Thanks, Stuart. I've really been enjoying your Winterbottom Queens lately too!
